Oh Parkway, you’re sooo cool. The vibe here is the same as any surf shop in PB or OB, except it’s 20 miles inland. And its in an area that has tweekers sporting Metal Mullisha over any surf brands. Which makes me wonder: why the power trip… Regardless, Sun Diego has those coveted brands that only the esteemed SoCal youth culture can pinpoint in a crowd. Obey, Omit, Enjoi, RVCA, Mystery, Hundreds, the brands that make people wonder, «Am I as cool as that guy? He must shop at Sun Diego…» At $ 35 a t-shirt, Sun Diego sets itself apart price-wise. Style-wise, very few of the selection I’ve seen elsewhere(besides footwear, you’d be foolish to buy shoes here!). Sun Diego gets the premium threads and styles, no doubt. Also, while fresh flavors run over $ 20, last week’s attire is nearly 60% off! So before you dismiss these guys, check their board shorts in January, run the clearance circulars thoroughly, and Friend them to see when their next sale hits. Also, military gets 10% off anytime. One more thing, of course these Millennials are pompous. Where did you think you were shopping?!

So I guess Penny boards are the«in thing» among the young’uns these days cos my nieces are desperate to have em. They’re these mini-skateboard-like thingies from Australia that come in colorful durable plastic. Some are even organic and biodegradable! We’ve discovered that Sun Diego carries a wide selection of Penny boards and other skateboarding stuff. I came in looking for a burgundy Penny and while they didn’t have any at the time, staff member Will offered to check their database and contacted their Carlsbad store to have one delivered to El Cajon. In just one day, the board was ready for pickup. I even got a call from the store letting me know that it has come in. Overall, I give this store five stars for customer service, follow-through and selection. Special mention to Will for taking care of my request!

Great selection of sunglasses, watches, shoes and clothing. This place isn’t cheap but all the stuff is pretty cool.

A nice selection of surfer style clothing. this place has some sic clothes, but the prices are kind of ridiculous. like 32 bones for a tee shirt? that is crack prices. i would have given it a higher rating but the employees act like they are above you. if you ask a question they roll their eyes like your putting them out.
