Michael Maude, D.D.S. Family & Cosmetic Dentistry has been helping the people of the San Diego, CA area grow healthy smiles since 2000. Our mission is to bring the best, most complete dental services to patients of all ages in a friendly and comforting environment. Dr. Michael Maude earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, a prestigious private dental school in Loma Linda, California in 1998. Graduating amongst the top in his class, Dr. Michael Maude was able to begin practicing dentistry privately right away.

An avid gardener, Dr. Maude truly enjoys caring for his fruit trees ranging from fig and pomegranate to limes and passion fruit. He loves to bring in baskets of seasonal fresh fruit from his garden for his patients to enjoy as well. He stays active by playing on a men’s soccer league once a week. Dr. Maude and his wife, Renee have four children together.

Unfortunately the poor experience I had there was with the admin. Everyone was very nice and Dr. Maude was also professional. The dental hygienist was great. The issue that I had there is with their verification of insurance process. I asked about coverage prior to receiving treatment (we don’t want a big bill after the fact) and the woman stated that they did take my insurance, however she failed to mention that Dr. Maude was considered an out of network Dr. for my insurance. Needless to say I found out afterwards when I received a notice from my insurance company of services covered/​not covered and called my insurance carrier. I have never had a medical office not disclose that they were out of network for a patient’s insurance especially since so many of us have this type of insurance that requires us to see in network Dr.‘s to receive full benefits and maximum coverage. I just found this to be deceiving and will not go back there.

Wonderful office! We have not lived here very long and my kids do not have dental insurance. The prices were very reasonable and the administrative staff is very helpful and friendly. Dr. Maude is very fun natured and so were his assistants and hygienist. My kids both went back by themselves and they are 8 and 10. Both were very relaxed when they came into the lobby and no screams of pain at all. They give the kids toys at the end of the visit which I thought was great! Very nice office! My husband and I will be patients as well!

Excellent as always! I am very happy that I found Dr. Maude. He is honest and does fantastic unhurried dental work. His dental work shows that he is committed to his patients oral health and wellness. Working along with Dr. Maude he has an office of friendly, professional, and knowledgeable staff members. Finally, his office is clean and inviting which is why Dr. Maude and his staff deserve nothing less than 5 stars. Thank you Dr Maude for work well done.

Dr. Maude is easily the best Dentist I have experienced. He has identified and filled quite a few cavities I’ve acquired over the years (as have a couple other highly reviewed dentists prior to my switching over to him.)
I would easily rate him higher than the other dentists I’ve experienced. He is quick, efficient, and has a very fine attention to detail when remolding/​filling teeth. Dentistry is important to someone like me with constant problems with cavities, so this recommendation does not come lightly. Good dentists are very hard to find, but yeah… here one is.

Dr. Maude was not my dentist. However, he received my emergency phone call to counsel me, and examined my condition during his off hours.
Kind, friendly, truly a great doctor who communicates with patients with patience. That is what a doctor should be, not just medically skillful.

Dr. Michael Maud is the BEST! he’s patient, kind and really cares about all his patients. His staff is amazing, i’ve been a patient for over 5 years and wouldn’t have it any other way! I take care of my smile as we all should and I’m one of the few who love the dentist. I’ve have a few cavities but not to many. I get my regular clean ups and exams and Dr. Maude makes sure I have a healthy smile :)

THE.BEST. !!!
It takes a really great dentist to inspire confidence in their skills, judgment, and integrity in their business practices all at the same time but Dr. Maude has. Not once since I started being seen by him last summer have I ever thought about going to another dentist or missing an appointment. Full disclosure here: I have had a deathly ill fear and avoidance of dentist since I was a child which has resulted in a lot of expensive and embarrassing problems for me. This doctor and his staff has compassionately offered me help, support, and encouragement while we fixed them. This dentist is not a bs’er and he is super conscientious and knowledgeable. I am lucky to have him. You should check him out!

I hate, I hate, I hate going to the dentist. At least until I met Dr. Maude. I was recommended to him and now I will not go anywhere else. I think I have a sensitive mouth/​teeth and past dentists have been less than gentle which led to me not going for longer than I should have. He did a root canal and fixed a few cavities (too much soda as a kid) and he and his staff always watch over you asking if you are okay, making sure it doesn’t hurt or cause discomfort, and before you know it, you are done. I won’t go anywhere else.

I can’t believe how nice a dentist visit can actually be. I’ve been going to the same dentist since I was 5, and then he retired several years ago and Dr. Maude took over the business. I was apprehensive about the change in ownership, but it turned out to be a great move! Dr. Maude is just fantastic. It wasn’t until recently that I had to have actual dental work done (before it was only teeth cleanings up to this point), and Dr Maude assured me that the process was going to be smooth, effortless, and virtually pain free. He was great in that he explained the entire process as we went through it and he even stopped to make sure I didn’t have any questions. Couldn’t ask for a more caring dentist.
Not to mention that the rest of the staff is absolutely incredible too! They all treat me like family and they’re always keeping up on my life; it’s nice to have that type of professional and friendly customer service from a dentist’s office. Couldn’t ask for more from a dental office.

I have just spent 3 seperate days in the past week in this dentists office getting my teeth cleaned, then whitened, and filling three cavities. I have to share with everyone that Dr. Maude is amazing. He’s not only professional and great at what he does, but he’s super nice too. Someone before me posted that he was like a ninja and i couldnt agree more. I felt absolutely no discomfort during my three fillings. I didnt even feel the one shot he gave to one of my teeth. My fear of dentists office is over now. Would give 10 stars if possible.

Its hard finding a good dentist but after you’ve been here you’ll never have to search again for another dentist. I can’t say enough about this place, great office staff, very professional and Dr Maude is by far the best at what he does. Okay, the selfish side of me wants to keep this place to my small cirlcle, but if ever a place deserved an excellent review this is it.
Now, I am one of those that never really understood people who had a doctor or dentist that they had to go to and would even be willing to pay out of network to stay with… I always thought it was silly to pay more. But now I understand.
Dr. Mauad’s office is one of those places. Everyone I have referred and who has visited Dr. Mauad, has ended up switching their whole family over to his office.
The Doctor and his staff are extremely friendly (not fake or in that creepy overly happy friendly, they must be trying to hide the fact they have a dungeon at their house type friendly). It is more of that Leave It to Beaver/​small town type vibe. Okay, for the cynical lot of us who did not grow up in a small town, that can still feel creepy but not to worry. It is just they’ll remember your birthday, if you just got married, had a child or whatever event you may initiated in discussion in a previous visit. Should come in handy when the anniversary rolls around! (No they don’t talk to you about these things when your mouth is full of x-​ray tabs or flouride)
They also handled all the insurance research and paperwork, I have never had to do a thing which is a nice change of pace.

Yes. All the work that I, or my friends or family, have had done there has been excellent and painfree. If you get there early you can pop in the massage chair if it is unoccupied to help ease your tension. After your appointment, you will get a carry home case with toothpaste, toothbrush, floss and other goodies. Then you will tell your friends and family about this awesome little dentists office.
