I took a picture for my engagement cake here and they did an amazing job! The cake looked beautiful and tasted great as well :)

I told them what I wanted and I got it! Custom Mario brothers cake was a hit at my sons birthday Party! He is a huge Mario Bros fan he loved it so much he didn’t want to eat it! Bravo to Flour Power team!

Oh my goodness, this review is LONG overdue!!! I will keep this short and sweet (pun intended) ;-)…I hired Flour Power to do the cake for my wedding because my sister had used them for her wedding and it was the BEST cake I had EVER tasted, at a WAY better price than many wedding cake vendors charge (total rip off at some of these places), and I was blown away AGAIN!
My wedding cake was SO delicious and moist… TONS of compliments from our guests asking where we got the cake. So good that I stashed some to eat on the plane (okay, I stashed a lot) on the way to our honeymoon!
Not to mention the fact that Samantha was a DOLL to work with! She did an absolutely BEAUTIFUL job designing my cake, completely bringing my vision to life and making it a one of a kind design. All that for a great, affordable price! And did I mention how professional and prompt they are? The cake just appeared at my venue right when it was scheduled to! Honestly, my wedding cake was one of the least stressful parts of planning my wedding!

We chose this bakery to bake our wedding cake after trying samples from 8 other bakeries. They didn’t have an exact picture of an example of what we wanted for our cake. We ended up asking for the cake to look like logs, which they displayed in one picture. And then we asked them to add leaves and vines, which they had a picture example from another cake. They put together my vision and it turned out so much more beautiful thank I could have ever imagined!!! I will post pictures when our professional pictures come in. The cake was so detailed, I couldn’t believe. My guests didn’t know if the leaves on the cake were edible or not because they were SO detailed. (they were, luckily). We chose a chocolate and peanut butter cake and also a strawberry one. It was the best cake I have ever had. 5 stars all around for Flour Power. Picking out every detail of a wedding is stressful but brides: I recommend this place by far. The perfect experience.

Found this cute place, have been in at least five times, have decided that everything we purchased was overly sweet. Cakes and pastry are sweet but we found everything here to be overly sweetened.
It would be nice if the sugar was cut back and more natural flavors could be tasted.
I can’t come here much because of this.

My soon to be 21 year old son has been asking for a Boston Cream Pie for the last couple of years and finally I found a place! I didn’t even know it was a cake not a pie.
The person on the phone was very pleasant and helpful, all I have to do is call to place an order at least 3 days in advance.
The best part is that I live near by, in La Mesa, and I have passed this place many times always meaning to stop and try it. :)

I called a week before I went in to ask if they make gender reveal cakes and I was informed that yes they do. So I rushed in immediately after my ultrasound appointment since I need the cake with 5 days. I was so happy to find a bakery near by that can do this since previously I’ve had to travel to La Jolla to order one with my first baby! So I go in and have a meeting with Monica and she goes over the design I want, starts an order sheet etc. we spent almost an hour discussing the design on the cake, I decided to go with white chocolate cake since I figured it’s easier to color a cake that’s white. She goes on about the filling which she focused on a little more than I felt was important because I figured if the cake was pink or blue, who cares what color is the filling? I thought she was trying to match them so I said I don’t care what color filling we get as long as the cake is the right color and then she says «oh no we don’t color the cake!» WHAT??? that’s the whole point of a gender reveal cake!!! Did you at any point feel like you should mention that to me in the hour we’ve spent together writing this cake up? All the bakeries I called around to ask, that was the first thing they mentioned if they didn’t color the cake!
Anyway. During the whole process, she did bring me a sample to try and I appreciate that but the cake wasn’t very good. It truly felt like a Costco cake but with thicker and less flavorful frosting. I appreciate the great customer service but please inform customers in the very beginning that you don’t color the cake for gender reveal. It could’ve saved me gas and time!

I just picked up some cookies and a cupcake. The cake was moist and flavorful. The cookies were perfect and huge. Tasted just like homemade and just the right amount of softness. Staff was warm and welcoming. The restroom was super clean too!

Here is my sad story.
Tomorrow is my husband’s birthday and sadly he is a diabetic, therefore, he cannot indulge into the sweeter delicacies of life. I called around to several bakeries, unfortunately, there are not many bakeries that will make sugar free desserts. That is when I stumbled upon Flour Power and Monica!
I have never been inside their establishment nor have I ever delighted upon any of their confections, but they will forever have me as a patron due to their phenomenal customer service.
Thank you Flour Power for making my darling husband a sugar free cake with no notice! I owe you all a debt of gratitude!!!

My husband and I heard some great things about Flour Power from friends who used them at their wedding. I am so thrilled that we worked with Samantha on our cake — it was perfect! She’s actually been emailing with me about the cake for like a year and a half because we had a long engagement. The service we received was always friendly and helpful.
I had a lot of reference photos of «looks» that I liked. When it came down to planning the design of the gum paste flowers, I sent some photos of our floral arrangement sample and told Samantha she could do whatever she liked to have it go with our flowers and theme. Best decision ever! The cake that Samantha created was the most beautiful wedding cake I have ever seen — ever. And I have a very active Pinterest account. It was prettier than I even imagined a cake could be.
The guests all raved about how delicious it tasted, and some guests even had a slice of EACH flavor. At the end of the wedding I think we only had about 10 servings left over, we were shocked.
Flour Power — THANK YOU for your attention to detail, professionalism and cake decorating epicness. It was truly the best experience working with you, and you have a customer for life in me.

A sweet little surprise right under my nose! I was looking for a a place to pick up some baked goods to drop off for some clients, and I found this place! The service was friendly, and the selection was perfect!
Another part of their selection was their holiday themed baked goods, I’m a sucker for the holidays, so anything up that ally I’m hooked!
So cute to see a newly engaged couple excitedly come in for their wedding cake tasting!

Another amazing cake; left me in awe. Of course because I am the absolute worst patron when it comes to being prompt. I called Friday to order a cake for my daughters official birthday on Sunday to feed approx 15 to 18. Of course I didn’t double check that the lovely ladies take Sunday off (which I am all in favor of). They still took amazing care of me. Monica took my phone order with out hesitation & went out of her way to make decorations for my last min 10′ round pudding chiffon covered in chocolate buttercream. I gave these amazing decorators full control and just let them know it is an art theme party and my three year old loves: elephants & cooking. I had full faith in how the cake would turn out. The results blew me away. The cake I picked up Saturday at 3:40 pm, thank goodness I didn’t forget this time, was beautiful! I’m posting pictures. Also the ladies gave me a discount on the decoration unasked for and completely by suprise. Honestly the level of service I have always received here is heartwarming; above and beyond all expectations!

I tasted a few of things in this establishment. For me, I had huge hopes since a friend referred me. Still, it was just okay. The cookies were good but I didn’t love the cake. The butter cream was rock hard served on a cold cupcake. I would say the buttercream was under flavored and over sweetened. The whip cream cake with mousse was just okay too. Not my favorite. Darn, this one is close to home and I was hoping for much more.

I ordered a custom cake for my daughters 2^nd birthday and could not have been more happy with my decision. It was not only beautiful, but delicious too! This was the first time I’d ever ordered a custom cake and Samantha worked with me for months to make sure it was perfect. She was patient, very thorough and took the time to answer all my questions. I was able to do a cake tasting session in La Jolla and wanted a two tiered cake. I fell in love with «The Works», a white cake with ribbons of raspberry and lemon and a chiffon pudding. So amazing!!! My family and friends raved about it and had to know where I had it made. I also did the traditional chocolate fudge for the second layer so it was more kid friendly. I wish you had actual cakes at your La Jolla location since it’s closer to me. I could go for a piece right now!
I chose to have the cake delivered and they were earlier than expected. The only issue I had is that they didn’t call to confirm a day or two before. I was a little worried as I didn’t have the time to call to confirm as well. Other than that it was perfect!

We just had flour power do our wedding cake for July 31, 2015 and they were amazing! The cake was so delicious!

I used Flour power for our wedding cake this past weekend and I can honestly say I was way more than satisfied! My cake was pretty detailed and I was very specific on what I wanted and I was not budging, however I was on a budget. After spending an entire day taste testing at other potential options, I ended up using Flour Power. First of all, the cake itself was the BEST cake I tasted all day and with that said, I actually don’t like cake (Weird, I know). I dont recall the flavor name, but it was the raspberry lemon mixture. We basically decided right then and there.
Now to the details. We went back and forth on what could be done and what couldn’t be done with my budget and at the end of the day, Cassandra, our cake specialist, went to the back to speak with the baker I assume? Owner? and worked the numbers to give me exactly what I wanted — No other bakery did this for me. 50% was due up front and the other 50% 2 weeks before the wedding, the ONLY issue I had was that no one contacted me for my 2^nd payment (which was due 7 days prior to the wedding and they informed me that if not received then the order would be cancelled, thank god I had an alert in my phone!) and I had to call quite a few times within 3 days since no one called me back, but they were apologetic and all was fixed.
The day of the wedding, I obviously was panicked on whether the cake was there since I was tucked in a tiny room hidden from the reception area and the tiny mishap I mentioned above, my mother came up ranting and raving about how the cake looked exactly like the photo I provided them and everyone kept asking how they made the cake look like it had bubbles/​pearls on it! They did an amazing job and I would hire them all over again! The cake sat for 5 hours before cutting it, outside in the shade on an 80 degree day, and it stayed solid and beautiful the entire time, not to mention my guests were raving on how delicious it was. Very happy customer.

–Brownie with nuts — YUM! AND at $ 3, what a steal! Portion was huge!
–Pecan baklava — I didn’t really care for it. I actually tossed out over half of it.
–Iced coffee — my friend reported that it was spot on.

We just had a great cake tasting experience with Samantha! Very professional and elegant environment. The tasting room is closed off from the main entrance so it’s very intimate and you don’t have to talk over people’s voices. So much variety of cakes!
Price range is perfectly affordable! Samantha worked with our budget and designed a plan that was much better than we imagined coming in. After finished we payed a $ 45 delivery fee and that’s it! They’ll deliver it hassle free and it’s off our hands.
Absolutely referring everyone I know to this place. Try the peanut butter fudge cake. Do it.

Oh my goodness, the S’Mores cookies is absolutely phenomenal! I would prefer this to an actual S’Mores.
Plus, had a caramel blended coffee for breakfast and it was just right for me. There was a strong coffee flavor to it, and a hint of caramel. Yummy.

Great all around bakers! The flavors are amazing and everything is fresh! They even do custom cakes!
