Family Christmas Tree Farm

Only been here to take pictures with the family for the Holiday’s and thought this place was adorable!
Located not far from the main roads, easy accessibility and a decent size. Great for photos (there was actually 2 separate photographers with families when we got there).
Didn’t get to really interact with the staff, but from what I saw they seemed friendly and very low key. Seemed like a really nice place to pick out a tree with a little more casual festive feel than purchasing from the store or local home goods place. Nice to see a place that actually grows the trees.

Been coming here for year and years. Always friendly and helpful staff. We have a child now to join in on the tradition so we definitely can’t wait to get out tree this year.
Even with all the Groupons for other tree farms you still can’t beat the prices at this tree farm.

Great selection of live potted christmas trees. After the holiday we can plant it and enjoy it year after year.

The kid who helped me attends the school I teach at. Not one of my students, but he recognized me, came over as was super helpful. There are a lot of trees and they were all great, so it can be hard to pick. Their prices were about the same as everyone else — In general, I think the Christmas Tree industry is a huge scam. But despite those feelings, I would definitely go back to this place.

It looks like the Monterey Pine was the only fresh tree option. I’m guessing trees like the Noble Firs were all brought in from somewhere else.
Some of the pre-​cut Noble Firs looked a little dry. We got a tree bigger than we planned because only the big trees looked very healthy.
They delivery. I didn’t see delivery as an option on their website, but they deliver. It was $ 60 to bring a 8ft+ tree to UTC and set it up.
Over all it’s festive holiday atmosphere is a good way to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Our family just bought are Christmas tree today. The custmer service was excellent. The gentleman that help us was very knowledgable about the trees and had a great smile. The lady at the register was very very nice and informed us about the mail list and getting $ 3 off our tree. She was a happy person. My husband made a comment about how this tree farm remind him of home. They had a great selection we bought a 4 foot noble fir tree for $ 40. A little more then I was expecting but after decorating the tree the price doesn’t seem to bother me anymore.

This place just makes you hum Christmas songs the entire time while walking thru. We walked thru with the family, doing the annual tree shopping! Will definitely be back again next year to keep up tradition with this great selection of trees!

Nice place. Zillions of trees. There is a farm where they are grown. You can cut your own, which is what I did. I don’t know what species it was. It was not a Noble Fir. But it was decent (as a species). For 6 to 7 foot trees, they were marked about $ 30, $ 35, or $ 40, depending on how they looked, or something. I picked out and cut a $ 35 one. They put netting on it ($ 2) cut the bottom of straight, and bored a hole for a spike in the tree holder things they sell. I bought one of those also, plus a little bottle of something that was supposed to make the tree last longer ($ 1.50). By the time it was all done and I paid sales tax it was $ 59 and change. One of the helper men carried it to my car (a hatchback) and loaded it in. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience.
On the lot they also have the more traditional Christmas trees, like Noble Firs, etc. But these were trucked in from Oregon and Washington, and were more expensive.
There were lots of families with small children there, who were clearly delighted by the experience of getting a Christmas tree. I saw a tractor with a trailer and bales of hay. It looked like at some times they offered hay rides.
I would definitely recommend Family Christmas Tree Farm to friends.

This is an excellent place to get a Christmas tree. It’s busy, but very organized and all the staff are friendly and offer assistance. We picked our Noble Fir in about 10 minutes, 6 ft. For $ 69, with very full branches. We certainly could have spent more time there though. The place was all a buzz with children and dogs. The Christmas spirit was definitely in the air! A very fun energy and fresh green aroma. It’s obvious that these trees are cared for with diligence. We will definitely return there for next year’s purchase. Quality and customer service you couldn’t be beat.

My wife and I stopped by Family Christmas Tree Farm for the first time yesterday to get our tree. When we walked in we were greeted by a frendly guy who asked us if we needed any help. We told him that this was our first time there and he explained how things worked there. We were interested in the trees that you cut yourself so he gave us a saw and a cart and lead us to the section a trees that are avalable for cutting which was huge. After we wondered around for awhile we found the perfect tree. I cut it down and we took it pay for it. Around the area where you pay they have a verity of Christmas wreaths and decorations for a good price. They also have a small area with some farm animals you can check out. If your in East County and looking for a good place to get your Christmas tree I would definitely check out Family Christmas Tree Farm.

My boyfriend and I literally just bought our tree from here and they had the best trees I have ever seen! They keep them all watered, and standing up to view unlike them piled up at Home Depot. They have a large variety of trees brought in, as well as potted, and even grown there that you can cut down yourself! The the staff was very nice even though they were super busy and obviously understaffed. The only reason I took a star off was they charge extra for netting, which kinda seemed ridiculous considering in order to get your tree anywhere, netting is needed. Overall though, I loved it and will be coming back next year!

We’ve been going here for years. It’s a great lot with fair prices. If you like cutting down trees, they have those as long as it’s the type of tree you want. Otherwise, they have the typical Douglas, Noble, etc. Fir trees. Prices might not be quite as good as Home Depot, but the atmosphere and experience is much better. And remember — if the guys there help you with your tree and take it out to your car, don’t forget to tip them. If you can afford a Christmas tree, you can surely afford a well-​deserved tip.

We bought our tree today and found the service and selection excellent, as well as very fair prices. We had compared prices with Lowes and Home Depot and Costco, and we got the best deal at Family Christmas Tree Farm. They gave us great advice about which tree to get and we were in and out with some helpful tips about making our tree last. We will be back next year!

This was the 4^th lot of our tree search, and turned out to be the best (by far). Large lot with many varieties. Even late in the day, there was still a large selection of quality trees.
Trees were, by far, best quality and freshness we had seen.
Once we identified our tree, employee quickly netted and shook out the tree, then moved to cashier area. Payment process was fast and friendly. They even accept credit cards.
After paying, employee carried to car and placed roof (but you must tie yourself, which is common).
Next year, this will be my first stop, and will likely buy there.

My family & I went here yesterday & it was great. There are two lots full of trees– one lot to cut your own tree & the other with pre-​cut trees.
We cut down our own, the price for it was $ 34. It’s a pretty good size, nice & full. They charged an extra $ 2 for a net around the tree & they shook all of the loose needles out as well.
Everyone working there was really nice & they gave us a baby tree to take home & plant! They also give a military discount if you show your military ID. We’ll definitely be back, it was a great experience.

Great experience. In and out in 15 min. Picked a beautiful tree, great prices. We didn’t have a stand though and that was a bit expensive. We will save this one for next year (instead of throwing it away. whoops)
Staff was so friendly and helpful.

Went there and got tree today. A nice 9 foot tree cost $ 50, that we cut down. As we walked back with the tree a nice kid came and took the tree from us and shook the needles out. After we paid they carried it to the truck for us. We went last year, and they actually cut the tree down for us, carried it to the register, and then loaded it in the truck. The prices for a fresh cut are a little higher than home depot, but you won’t beat the service anywhere.

We came to the Family Christmas Tree Farm this past weekend to cut down a Christmas tree and I was amazed by how easy and fun the whole process was! I usually get my trees from Home Depot but heard that there was a tree farm not too far away (!5 minute drive to El Cajon).
The trees started at $ 29 for a 6 foot tree and we ended up picking out a 8 foot tree for $ 39.
They provided the saws and it took a few minutes to cut down. They put the tree in a shaker thing that got most of the dead pine needles out, wrapped the tree in plastic netting (few dollars more) and we were off on our merry way!
The experience is fun and I’ll be back next year!

Where else can you cut down your own Christmas tree? We just got back and got a nice tree for $ 30.00. They trim it up for you, shake it out and bag it up too if you want. This place is awesome! My wifes family has been coming here for years. Its an awesome little setup!
