El Cotixan Mexican & Seafood

Wow, way below average California Burrito. Should have went to Santana’s Taco Shop or something. Fries seemed stale. I wouldn’t go back here. We just left about a few minutes ago. Definitely not a good representation of San Diego Mexican food.

Stopped here in the morning because I was jonesing for a breakfast burrito
The burrito was five dollars and some change. It was about the size of my foot. It had very good flavor considering it was only potatoes eggs bacon and cheese. The burrito was served piping hot but it was not overcooked
All in all, for the price, a very good burrito

This has got to be the worst place ever .food rice no flavor guacamole is so tarty u can tell it’s bought frozen .no ac flys are flying all over the hot sauce bar landing on it. gross surprised its still open yuck

I tried the fish and shrimp taco. Smaller than their sister facility in Rancho Bernado. Staff was friendly. Place was empty when I walked in but they moved to serve me when I got to the counter. The fish taco did not have any flavor. The shrimp taco tasted a little better but not by much. It had plenty of shrimp though. The salsas did not add to much flavor. I definitely have had better. Place could use a little cleaning.

From 2002 – 2011, I used to eat here as frequently as 3 times per week. I hadn’t been here for awhile since I now live farther away, but stopped in the other day to get my old favorite (pollo asada nachos).
The pollo asada was overcooked and the spices they used on it were a little to heavy on the pepper. It tasted like they had not marinated the meat at all and instead dumped a bunch of spices on it right before cooking. This is not the recipe they were using when I used to come here before. I picked around the chicken and ate the pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. I doubt I’ll be back. I’m pretty bummed because they used to lay down one heck of a plate of pollo asada nachos.

This place is fucking disgusting!!! Let me make this as short as possible. First of all, this restaurant is located in a fucking ghetto. Second of all, never enter this disgrace of a restaurant if it is a warm day. These cheap asses don’t bother to turn on the AC and would rather have their paying customer rot in their own sweat. Thirdly, the place is filled with flies; probably because they leave the doors open and refuse to turn on any sort of cooling. When my friends and I went, we were planning to go inside, sit-​down and eat but obviously that was not happening with flies everywhere and the weather being warming in there than outside. NEVER EVER returning to this ghetto.

The food was really bland no flavor whatsoever. I would save my money and try to Unilocal some other mexican restaurant.

Love this place! The California surfing burrito is to die for its shrimp, carne, potatoes, quacomle, cheese and secret Chipotle sauce!
