Brian Stout nailed it in the coffin!
He organized a beautiful service for our dad. He definitely went out in style and grace. I’m sure my dad was smiling from above at how everything turned out so perfect. Brian, the Director, provided excellent customer service and was also very good at keeping our spirits up during our time of grief. For a moment, we forgot about how sad we were. Brian went out of his way and provided his special touches from setting up the microphone for our prayers and for quests to provide stories about our dad. He assisted in choosing the right spot for our collages and even offered nice dishes to utilize for the dessert, pasties and appetizers we brought. We received so many compliments from our family and guests that we will definitely utilize their services in the future again. Our family highly recommends them as our dad’s wake and reception was a class act.

Bryan went above and beyond with his service to our family. Not one detail was wrong and he went out of his way several times to help with those little extra things that made the final arrangements for my mother a positive experience.

I do not like making reviews because usually a company is not worthy of a note being left. This company is worthy of the time taken. From start to finish these people are all a class act. Brian has more patience then i have seen in a lot of folks these days. I never felt like I was a burden. The establishment is super clean and smell of incense are very present and welcoming. I would recommend this company very much because they are responsible and even when there was a snag on our end these guys made sure that we did not feel rushed or put out. They never tried to up sell anything that I did not want. Brian and his team are A+ in my book.

Before the death of our beloved mother, Rita, I started looking around for the best and most beautiful place that we could afford to get to send our mother off for her wake. I probably visited 4 different places and called around to at least 10 more to get a sense of what each place had to offer. I remember the day that I walked into the East County Mortuary after having looked at a couple of places with my wife that day. We were exhausted and obviously not necessarily looking forward to this. However, as soon as the wife and I walked in here, we immediately loved the place. My mother was well known and so we were looking for a mortuary that had enough space in the chapel to fit around 250 to 300 people since we knew that after her passing, a lot of people would want to come by and say their goodbye’s. We loved the Euro décor in the entrance with the beautiful furniture. The place smelled really nice as well and that was important as other mortuary’s obviously don’t always smell too nice. We walked into the chapel and were amazed at it’s size and loved the high ceilings. We knew right away that this place would be perfect for mom. A nice gentleman, Sammy, offered us water and wanted to know if we had an appointment. Since we were walk-​ins, he politely asked us to wait in once of the conference rooms while he got a manager to talk to us. In walks Brian, the general manager for ECM. Don’t let his serious face fool you… he is a caring person. He sat down with us and walked us thru the packages that they offered. He made light hearted jokes to put us at ease and that REALLY helped a lot and made us really comfortable. As the meeting went on, we loved how we were treated and we felt that every single one of our needs would be met. We chose the package that included the wake, urn, service etc… and we got a great deal too. There are of course other places that charge less than they do, but ECM was the perfect place to fit all the people we needed and also was beautiful enough to have people there to stay. After my mother passed away on 4÷15÷15. the hospital immediately got in touch with ECM and they took care of the rest. The day of the wake/​viewing we were obviously very shaken but Brian took care of everything and that really made us have piece of mind… I mean, who wants to be worried about the service of a funeral home on the day of saying goodbye to your loved one? Sure enough we had about 260 people come and say goodbye to mom on the day of her viewing and everyone that we spoke to loved the place. Sammy also was very helpful with the TV/​video presentation that we had setup and with the microphones etc… the entire staff took care of us completely! Thank you Brian and staff for making such a bad day more doable. We will never forget ECM.

The gentleman (sorry — I forget his name) who transported my Dad’s body to the business location was friendly, respectful and concerned for our family’s comfort. Later in the day, my brother and I went to East County Mortuary & Cremation Services — Illl call it «ECMCS» — (this was on the same day that our father passed away.) Our father’s wishes were only to be cremated and his cremains buried at sea (for which we had prior arrangements). Director Brian was friendly and professional. Brian picked up that my brother and I had a bit of a sense of humor, and he made a few lighthearted comments here and there, which helped us to relax. That’s a real tricky thing to do, especially when you consider that many survivors may not be to amenable to any sort of humor in this situation. Brian’s experience paid off here. Even though my Dad’s wishes were modest, and therefore we did not avail ourselves of many of ECMCS’ services (which would have obviously made the bill greater), that was not a problem at all for Brian. He was very understanding and professional throughout. I would recommend ECMCS without hesitation.

We went here to pick out a urn we needed for my grandpas ashes for his service we were having at another location. We met Brian and he was so kind, he showed us what he had and what he would think would work best for our family. His company is amazing and the funeral home looked beautiful. Def, somebody i will look to in the future when we need his service.

My family would like to thank Brian Stout & his staff for making a very difficult & stressful time less so. We put the arrangements in their hands and were most pleased by the result. We had no clue what was involved so Brian stepped up and handled it all, even when we threw in some last minute changes. Thank you, ECM.

The funeral director, Brian Stout, was the absolute best! He made everything happen and was on top of everything during this most stressful and upsetting time. He is great in dealing with families, informing us of what to expect, and is that little ball of sunshine that is desperately needed in his line of work. Much love for Brian and his awesomeness! These guys rock Robert, Brien, Eric etc. They really help out in times of distress from being to end they will accompany your familys most critical times.

East County Mortuary definitely exceeded my expectations. They did an amazing job with my mother’s service. I was completely lost and had no idea what I was doing. They were so compassionate and accommodating. They’re the best, hands down.

My partner and I had the best experience! Brian and Eric went above and beyond our expectations and made loss of a love one very comforting. The facilities were top notch and it seemed like this was a place that was destiny to be. There are plenty of mortuaries in the area and I don’t think any of them will be as professional, compassionate, honest and upfront with their clients as these guys were. Thank you again to the wonderful staff in our time of need.

I have been to this location for multiple services and I love the people who work here.
When you walk in, the place looks amazing (from the outside it needs an upgrade) but once inside, you will be impressed.
The staff is very professional with each family and treats everyone with dignity.
I will definitely pass on the word.
