Dietsch’s Hearing Aid Center

I was a client of this establishment for over five years. I started out with a more inexpensive pair of hearing aids and then upgraded a few years later.
The upgraded pair contains a «receiver», that Dietsch Hearing Aid Center told me to replace a few times at a cost of $ 150 each time. All-​in-​all, that cost me $ 300.
Well, the last time I showed up I was having a problem. They examined my hearing aids twice on two consecutive days and told me, once again, the receivers had to be replaced, along with some microphone parts. This would cost $ 310.
This time, I became suspicious and I followed my gut feeling and went to West Coast Audiology in La Mesa. The gentleman there thoroughly checked and then cleaned my hearing aids and replaced the tiny white wax traps.
Then lo and behold, suddenly my hearing aids were working perfectly! NO RECEIVERS HAD TO BE REPLACED!!! They just had to be cleaned and the wax traps replaced. This guy saved me over $ 300, plus he only charged me $ 25.
Regarding the $ 150 receiver (s), I also spoke with the people over at Abbott Hearing Aid Center on Jackson Drive in the San Carlos neighborhood and they told me they sell these receivers for $ 75, if I ever do need one.
In summary, I am very disappointed with what Dietsch’s Hearing Aid Center tried to pull with me.
My advice is to always get a second or third opinion if a place wants a considerable sum of money to replace a part (s).
And obviously, I no longer will be setting foot in this hearing aid center.

Came here for the first time last month because I thought I needed a new hearing aid. The receptionist was very helpful over the phone and the sweetest receptionist in person. The audiologist was just as nice. The audiologist answered every question i had, and i asked a lot. She went over all the options available and didn’t pressure me to do anything I was not comfortable doing. Turns out i did not need a new hearing aid, it just needed a dehumidifier.

My elderly parents have been going to Dietsch’s Hearing Center for several years to take care of their hearing aids. The person in charge of the testing and hearing aids, Bernie, was very helpful and professional. However, the receptionist was downright rude. I called the receptionist to ask Bernie one simple question which would have required only a simple reply. The receptionist responded, «he’s very busy, and you need to make an appointment». I reiterated that Bernie did not need to see the hearing aids and it was just a simple question; if I could leave a message for him to call me back at his convenience. The receptionist’s response was «We don’t take messages, only appointments. I will take the message but he will probably not return the call because he doesn’t have the time.» It would have been a three hour affair to go to their location to have my question answered. After this experience, I recommend to all of you inquiring online that you go someplace else to get the service you need. I will never again use their services and any future potential patients looking for services of this kind will be encouraged by me, members of my family, and friends to look elsewhere.
