History

Established in 2003.

The owner started in the industry when she was in college. First as a server, later operations. The hard work was enjoyable and more than satisfieing from a service oriented perspective. With experience from a select few of the best catering companies in San Diego, she expanded her own training to include private clubs and a couple 5 star hotels as Catering Manager and F&b Manager. Finally, Debra opened her own gourmet foods and specialty service catering company. Taking care of the client and having great food and a great team… makes all the difference for a great event!

Debra and EVERYONE were awesome this past week end for our Backyard BBQ Wedding. We were on a tight budget but we got first class, quality, professional services and the food was great. You know you have great catering when you don’t even know they are there, people are moving through quickly and are STUFFED and telling you how great the food was. Chef was wonderful and Debra kept in contact with me throughout the process with emails and phone calls when necessary… love them and recommend them to my friends and family

Debra and her team catered our wedding in September and everything was perfect. Our magical day went off without a hitch and the catering was no exception. Our guests were raving about the food and the service. We were told and agreed that the food was amazing. My mother was turning 80 and I wanted to have a special luncheon for friends and family to celebrate. I knew that living out of town to plan this event, for the day after Christmas, was not going to be easy. But I found Debra and Details Custom Catering. Debra was great to work with on all the planning from table coverings to food to timing. The event was everything and more that I had wished for. She and her staff were attentive to all the details and guests. The food was scrumptious. We had their Champagne Chicken with Gorgonzola Basil Sauce. Out of this world! To this day my Mom and her friends are still talking about what a wonderful celebration it was. I know I’m late to submit this review but my thanks and praise have only grown over time.

We used DCC for our daughters backyard wedding. Chef Yuri and his servers arrived early for set-​up which relieved alot of stress for me. The food was delicious… We decided on the taco bar and had both fish and carne asada to accomodate our vegetarian guests. It was a full set up with salsa fresca, guac, sour cream rice and beans and warm tortillas. Chef Yuri did a fabulous job. i also highly recommend the scallops wrapped in bacon appetizers. My guests raved about them. Thank you again Yuri and Bön Appetite…

We used Details Custom Catering for our wedding and had a great experience! Debra was very helpful in helping us choose our menu by telling us what items tend to be popular and what works well together. The price was far lower than any other caterer we looked into, which was very helpful for our budget. We had a pasta buffet and it tasted great! Definitely glad we chose them!

I used Custom Catering for my recent wedding. I was very unsatisfied with the food, my appetizers tasted like they had been previously frozen and then heated in the microwave. No flavor for the salmon cucumber cups, which weren’t even cups just salmon on a sliced cucumber. My entrees, stuffed chicken breast with mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, leeks were not stuffed and had just a thin chicken breast. The Mahi mahi with mango salsa had no flavor and was dry. The greens beans tasted like they were out of a can and had no flavor. The worst part was that the herb pilaf had confetti coloring in it like we were at a child’s birthday party. HOT MESS!!! I would not recommend this company for anyone’s special event.

We selected Debra and her crew to cater our annual Gala in 2009. We were so satisfied that we booked them for next year with the same menu within a couple days of finishing the big event… it was that amazing!!! Fabulous food, perfect timing, and absolutely as detail-​oriented as the name promises. Everyone was blown away by the food, ambiance and service.

Details recently catered a birthday party at my house and did a fantastic job. I was able to have a great time with my guests mainly because I had complete confidence in Debra and her staff to make sure everything went seamlessly. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone wanted more later in the evening. I would definitely hire them again for any occasion.
