Charlie ran 125′ of condensate lines from my heat pump to my air handler unit, evacuated the lines, and charged them. He was very efficient, timely, and easy to coordinate. I would rate him a 4.8; the only reason for the -.2 ding is he left a weather cover off a control panel box located inside the heat pump. I found after he had finished, and used a screw driver and :05 of my time to re-​install the cover. Easy, but a perfect score only comes from perfection. But this was a minor, minor thing.

Charlie has fixed my air conditioning systems many times in the last 25 years. If you are hoping to get someone that’s knowledgeable, personable, capable, funny and get a good price, call Charlie! You will love him! Thanks For all of the great help Charlie! You’re the best!

My neighbor gave me this number to call if I needed AC service. She told me to ask for Gary. So, I called and asked for Gary. The guy on the phone told me I have the wrong number. I asked again and he admitted he knew Gary and that he was an «associate» but wouldn’t give me his number.
I informed him that I needed service seeing as though he answered the phone saying Central Air. He told me he was too busy and couldn’t help and then HUNG UP.
I was a bit frustrated because I did not get Gary’s number and because he shunned me regarding needing service. I’m thinking this guy must be so popular that he can afford to turn down business and hang up on people to boot.
I called back again and immediately asked for his name. He said Charley. I then asked if I could have Gary’s number seeing as though he was an associate. Charley said I’m too busy and HUNG UP AGAIN!
Beware of the d-​bag that answers the phone and great doing business with you Charley!

My furnace stopped heating on New Year’s Eve during one of the coldest weekends I can remember. I called around and either nobody answered or could come out until Jan 12! Got a hold of Central Heating & Air and talked to Charlie. He was busy too, but fit me in the following Saturday morning. He arrived exactly on time. He was very personable and explained everything as he was looking at the furnace. At first he thought it might be the main circuit board but finally traced it out to a high limit sensor. So he tried bypassing the sensor and ‘voila’ — the heat came on!
Charlie impressed me as being a very intelligent and knowledgeable person and a really nice guy too. He shared all kinds of tips with me and suggested a way to utilize my broken electrostatic filter by installing an inexpensive paper filter in it’s place. He ordered the limit switch and came back later to install it and the new filter. He charged a very reasonable rate way less than I expected. Everything works perfectly now!
Looking back he could have easily charged me for a new main circuit board and I would have never known the difference. Wow, how rare is it to find an honest technician who is smart and reasonable too! It always makes me feel good to know good people I can depend on. I am really glad I found Charlie and highly recommend him to anyone who needs furnace or A/​C install or repair!

Charlie was awesome. I had an issue where air wasn’t passing through the fire dampeners for awhile. I had tried other HVAC specialists and they couldn’t solve my issue. The HVAC guy I last called recommended I call my HOA and my HOA recommended Central Heating and Air to me. Charlie was very friendly and very honest and explained the issues to me. He apparently has worked on other places similar to mine as well. I wanted the fire dampeners opened, so he went to his van, got his tools, came back up and fixed the issue.
If I ever have any other AC issues in the future, Im calling him again. I wish I had known about this company earlier.

My AC wasn’t cooling the house as much as I thought so I called this company. Charlie answered and came out the next day. Super friendly, super nice guy. He did a couple walk throughs of my whole house to look over my AC work as well as testing the compressor and various other things. Turns out my duct work is not optimal and that is slowing my air flow. He also found my compressor was having issues and fixed that. I would call again in a second, very reasonable prices and great customer service.

We had (had being the key word) an issue with our furnace and Charlie came out right away to help us. My husband is gone right now due to the military, and with me being home with an infant and very pregnant again, I was hoping to not get jerked around like other companies have tried with the pricing… Long story short, Charlie helped us rewire our furnace (previous home owners didn’t have it wired right, and unbeknownst to us, it could’ve burnt our house down because of limit and fan switches not working right) and gave us a VERY good deal. He’s a genuine person, and won’t charge you an arm and a leg for good work. I honestly wouldn’t hire anyone else for a job like this.

We’ve had to call Central Heating and Air for two separate problems over the last year. Once for our heater last winter and once for our air conditioner this summer. When Charlie came out last winter to take a look at our heater he identified the problem quickly and had the part to fix the heater on hand. He worked quickly and efficiently for an excellent price!
When our air conditioner went out recently we called Charlie again. He was able to come by within 30 minutes of our call on a Saturday. Again, he identified the problem and had the part to fix it on hand. Our A/​C was back to running within 30 minutes of his visit for a very reasonable price.
He’s also great with our dogs!

Charlie was great. My furnace went out and I had estimates of $ 10k — $ 18k to replace the unit. At 15 years old, Charlie said my AC & heating units had many more years. He was able to fix my heating unit and service my AC for almost nothing in comparison to replacing them. I will need more work done this fall when remodeling our home, and Charlie will again get a call from us.

I have been using Anderson Plumbing for many years and I have them come and out and do a service call on my heater and A/​C twice a year. Well last week they came out and looked at my A/​C and said it was going to cost $ 900 and even that you will need a new A/​C within a couple of years. Then he said it would be better just to buy a new one.
My A/​C is 14 years old and it works fine. The whole story did not seem right to me. So I looked on Angie’s list and found Central Heating and Air.
Charlie was so nice and came out the next day and said I did not need a new A/​C and he replace the box that has all the wires and said that will work just fine and it cost $ 200.00
My experience with Charlie was great.

Charlie just came out and fixed our heater in under an hour. We had been putting off getting our heating and air conditioning unit looked at because we were afraid of what it might cost. Since I was home sick I finally had some time to investigate different companies and prices. I actually found and called Charlie by mistake, but I’m so glad I did. He had estimated that he’d be in the area around 2:30, but his jobs got backed up. At about 5 o’clock I thought we’d have to reschedule, but Charlie kept his committment and came out at about 6:30! (Another place I called would have charged us time and half.) Once here, he found that the issue was just a blown out fuse. He replaced it and changed our filter and the heater was back in business! We just bought this place in March and didn’t know how to use the thermostat — Charlie taught us how to use it. We’ll also call him back for some work on our AC once summer comes around. The service was great and reasonably priced. We highly recommend him!

Charlie Collins of Central Heating and Air was GREAT. We found him right here on Unilocal after searching our neighborhood of Crest and are so happy we did. We used someone through our home warranty about a year ago, and all he did was top off our Freon and called it good… even though he never fixed the issue, which was low air flow throughout the house and no airflow in some of the rooms. Charlie checked the temperature of every vent in the house and crawled under the house and came to find out that the connector thingamabob for the right side of the house had dropped out, so we were not only providing a/​c for under the house but now we know exactly why certain vents were producing no air. Not because of the proximity from the unit to these rooms as the other guy stated. Charlie fixed the problem, cleaned out the filter to our unit and was gone in less than an hour. SERIOUSLY, I can’t say better things about him. This is going to be our guy (if we ever need it again!) for many, many years to come!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Charlie, the owner of Central Heating and Air. Last year one of the bigger companies claimed that we had a cracked heat exchanger, a dangerous condition requiring replacment of the heater. We went through a whole winter without heat, because we could not afford to replace our heater. It turns out that the other company was wrong. Charlie took apart our entire system to thoroughly inspect our heat exchanger, and serviced our 40 year old heater at a very reasonable price. Because we saved so much money, we used him to properly install duct work (the past owner was very creative with his duct system). Charlie is great. Honest to the core, funny, and very knowledgeable. I highly, highly recommend him. He literally saved us thousands of dollars.

Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. This was his name. He was honest, reliable, quick and did a great job to get our 20 year old system working within an hour and half. He was clean and left the job better than when he came. He gave a great estimate and gave a great discount. He replaced a conductor, filter and traveled to Home Depot and returned to replace the electrical circuit for $ 245. He inspected my system and I have five years left. If it goes out, I will be calling Charlie. One other note, I called on a Saturday morning and he was highly recommended on Angies List. He was on the 52 and returned back to North County in order to make his visit. Nice work!
