Established in 1983.

Brendan Habel chose to start a business after previously working with a landscape installation company and landscape maintenance company. Became licensed by the California State Licensing Board. Brendan has attended seminars and constantly reads up on Landscaping Magazines. It is important to constantly keep up with the changes in Landscaping. Originally starting out, the business was solely operated and run by Brendan Habel. After a period of time, his wife Angela Habel joined in to help with the growing business. Ever since California Exteriors Landscape and Tree Service has been established, it has been devoted and committed to working with various clients for long periods of time, even decades! California Exteriors Landscape and Tree Service has worked with over hundreds of people and businesses since the company has been established.

A neighbor of ours had hired Brendan Habel (California Exteriors) to do some landscaping work at his home. For a couple of days, I watched as Brendan worked hard to deliver a high quality job. As a result, I decided to ask Brendan about fixing our pressure regulator and main shutoff valve for our sprinkler system. The valve and pressure regulator were corroding in the soil and I thought these might fail at any moment. Brendan indicated he could do the repair within a few weeks and would get back to me with an estimate. Given my experience with other companies, I thought Brendan would find this job too difficult and never get in touch with me. However, sure enough, Brendan emailed me an estimate and gave me a date when he could do the repair. I asked if he would contact me a couple of days before he would come so I could be prepared. Brendan called me as promised, showed up on time a couple of days later and did an excellent repair. In short, Brendan is one of the most reliable, honest, and effective landscapers that I have ever dealt with. If you need any service, call Brendan first and he will certainly take care of you. Don’t bother checking out others — Brendan will get the job done right at a fair price the first time! Also, you know that if you do have a problem, he will be back to make it right.

Brendan is the man! Here’s my situation — I recently purchased a house with a patchy yard and an sprinkler system in need of help. (I’m guessing those were related) I called up Brendan, he came out and replaced an old/​tired sprinkler controller (20 yrs old?) set up the new timer and watering programs, changed out some faulty sprinkler heads, changed others to stop water overflow out of the top of the sprinklers (which were down a steep driveway and would waste water when they shut off), seeded and fertilized the yard, took out a couple of scraggly bushes and put down some bark chips around the perimeter of the yard… and now it looks amazing! Not only does it look great but my water bill went down due to the efficiency gains. It went so well, my neighbor asked for his services too. And when Brendan came back to do his job a couple of weeks later, Brendan put down some extra seed and fertilizer in my yard without even asking. He’s professional, timely, and hopefully my go-​to-​guy for all the other future projects. Highly recommended.

After 23+ years, our front and back yards needed some major overhaul. Brendan from California Exteriors came out and provided excellent detail on what he would recommend to get each yard back in shape. He also listened to ideas of what we wanted and easily incorporated those into his plan. I was most impressed by the fact Brendan did all the work with one assistant. We communicated on a daily basis, with him providing updates on the progress of the landscape work. As with many other home renovations where many jobs are parceled out to various vendors, Brendan did it all. We required some extensive electrical revisions, which Brendan arranged for and was present during all the work. Brendan’s excellent work ethic is present throughout his time on the job. He is hard working, dependable, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about landscaping requirements. Without hesitation, I know Brendan will assist if there are any issues with the project and will follow up to assure all of our needs are met. It’s great to have someone you trust and have confidence in his work. With the completion of this major renovation, both yards are beautiful and have added a great deal to our home. I would highly recommend contacting Brendan with California Exteriors. We will continue to use him for any future projects.

I cannot say enough about Brendan and California Exteriors Landscape and Tree Service. He turned my backyard dirt lot into an oasis. I needed a complete sprinkler design and installation, as well as sod, plants, fruit trees, and weed clearing. Brendan was one of several people who I had come out and bid. I chose him because he was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and had a very thorough estimate that detailed exactly what he was going to do, that was a fair price for the task at hand. California Exteriors is a different kind of company meaning that Brendan, the owner who came out to estimate my job, is the person who then comes out to work on and complete the project. So many times as a homeowner I have had an estimator comes out to look at a job and then some different crew that I have never met actually comes out to complete the task. Brendan takes full responsibility for the job as he is one who personally works on your yard project with one other employee. Brendan was able to give me ideas on plants and design as well as problem solve and work around my existing paving stone patio. This is my first Unilocal review, and I felt I needed to join just so that I could help others sift through the sea of landscape companies and find someone who they can trust to design and implement exactly what you are looking for in a backyard landscape. Thanks to Brendan I finally have a backyard I can enjoy. I will be calling this company again for more services in the future.

Called multiple companies due to a busted water pipe in my front yard irrigation and wanted some plants removed. Brendan was the only one to call back. Provide written quote and was very professional. We where so happy with his work we hired him again to redo the drip system in our back yard.

California Exteriors & Landscape put sprinkler system’s in both my front and back yard and I am extremely pleased with the work they did. After 40 years of nothing but dirt in my mom’s backyard, they put in a sprinkler system along with landscaping. It is absolutely beautiful, and it has made my mom extremely happy to have such a nice back yard.
