first time moving out of my apt (since moving out of parents’ lol) and needing storage space and this establishment made the experience extremely easy. the staff were excellent, professional but quite friendly and patient with all the dummy questions. Shawn and Grace especially, knows how to take care of people. i only came in to check out the place and ended up getting most of my moving needs from their shop. i remember it was st. pats weekend and the place was literally green (shawn’s handiwork, i believe). decors left and right made the space attractive, upbeat and very festive which lightened my mood each time i went in because as one can imagine– moving can be somewhat stressful. i was truly impressed how management runs this business as employees clearly loved to come to work from the enthusiasm so obviously noted on their decorating efforts.
aside from all these, prices were superb and very competitive and location is awesome. it was 2 mins away from my place near westfield plaza and a block or so away (soo close) from homedepot in case you needed extra stuff.

Shawn was amazing, she answered all of my questions, and handled all of my concerns even while she was dealing with a crazed, meth infested client who was clearly troubled. Shawn deserves a raise for her patience in dealing with people. I rented a storage even though I was afraid the guy was going to steal my stuff :)

I stopped in at theA-​1 Self Storage on Magnolia (N. El Cajon) to do some price comparisons. Although their prices were just about the same as others I’ve shopped for, Grace, who help me with my questions, was very well informed of their inventory. The size/​location of my unit needs was currently unavailable.(A popular place for storage needs).
I will check back with them monthly to see if the unit I need becomes available.

This specific location gets a 5-​Star without question. These ladies know how to run this storage place. They are always at work and so professional and friendly. I could pay for my unit online or via mailing a check but I make the initiative to go to the office to pay just so I can see how it is decorated and get ideas on decorating my house for the holidays. I also go in just to chat with Grace and Shawn, they are like my little A1 storage family that I see once a month. Grace keep up that superb management ability you have and Shawn never stop decorating, this location stands out from any storage place in the nation, I guarantee it!!!

We stored our belongings here for 26 months! Didn’t think we’d need it that long, but the office staff was so considerate, professional and helpful. It was nice to know that our «whole house» (which fit into a 10×30) …was safe and sound! What was supposed to be a short storage ended up being much longer — life happens: …between selling and buying, we became caregivers for our parents who were 93 yrs old, living with them and caring for them daily. I’d highly recommend the El Cajon A-​1 Self Storage on Magnolia Ave to anyone around who needs to keep their stuff «safe and sound.»

Spoke to Grace in early December about a space and then had to keep putting it off until late Dec. No problem at all and kept the same deal throughout.
They can’t be more helpful and they are always happy to work with you in any way they can.
