Description

Specialties

Psychotherapy needs to be both supportive and challenging to be effective. In session, I’ll offer you both and have a strong intuitive capacity as well. Additionally, I have over 24 years of clinical experience, along with years of my own therapy which make me approachable and real.

In session, I’ll take an active role in observing you and pointing out to you what I notice that you may not have considered before. I’ll offer you new insight and understanding so that you can develop greater self-awareness, which is a basis for personal development and growth.

Over the years, I’ve helped individuals struggling with depression, anxiety (and panic), relationship issues, and more.

History

Susan T.

Business Owner

I was born in Los Angeles, California, where I lived for over thirty years before relocating to the Pacific Northwest.

During my coming-of-age years, I went through some profound emotional and psychological struggles. I eventually realized that I couldn’t find my way alone and went to get professional help. I was very lucky to find a psychoanalytic therapist able to help me through those difficult times. He understood the depths of my experience in a way I could never have imagined possible and which was enormously helpful. It was also utterly fascinating. I began to understand others through this new perspective. I found that, just as some people have a good «ear» for music, I had a good «ear» for psychology. Like musicianship, practicing psychotherapy is both an art and a skill, and it greatly appealed to me. I decided to major in psychology at UCLA and completed my BA in 1987.

I went on to pursue a master’s degree (MS) in Counseling Psychology at California
