LEAH! LEAH! LEAH! Leah is the most amazing hair stylist I have ever had! After 20 years of sub par hair experiences I have become super picky. I have had so many blunders with my hair it’s embarrassing. With Leah it is different she spends time with me to figure out what I want. She knows MY hair and that it needs a certain touch because every cut shows. She is sensitive and intuitive and is a hair healer. When I see the transformation she has made I feel absolutely fabulous and she has the personality and spirit to match! No matter what I want done she always accommodates and always applies her specific artistic touch. If you have been waiting for someone you can trust with your hair Leah B. is your lady she knows what she is doing. Oh and her scalp massage is to die for, if you only go for that it is worth it and then some!

Do I know how good of a job they do here? No. All I know is that I waiting almost 40 min for my appointment. At 10 after my appointment I had the receptionist tell me she was just finishing up and would be right out. Nothing else was said. Appointments are there for a reason and if the scheduled time wasn’t going to work, I would have been able to come later. Instead I wasted my lunch break driving there and back with no haircut. I will not be coming here ever again. Very disappointed.
Other than that, it seemed like a nice salon. Pretty open floor plan.

I had a great experience with Audrey at Slate Salon. I wanted to make a radical departure from my shoulder-​length layered cut to a pixie cut, and the receptionist recommended Audrey for this type of cut. Audrey did a great job of taking the photo I brought in and translating it to suit my hair and face-​shape, giving me a superb razor cut (if you’ve ever had a bad razor cut, you know how valuable a good one is!). She also gave my friend a pixie, and tailored the cut to her face-​shape and hair-​type, which are completely different from mine, and we both came out looking good! I would definitely recommend Audrey and Slate.

Such a gem of a salon! My sister in law recommended it to me, and now my mom comes as well! i’ve had multiple cuts here, and always come away with exactly what I want! Normally I would see Tai, who is fantastic and very personable. There was a little miscommunication on my appointment time yesterday with the front desk, but they were extremely accommodating and got me in right away with Kathy. I immediately felt very comfortable with her, which was important as I was cutting 7 – 8 inches off. My style looks great!
I’ve also been to see Stephanie, who also did my wedding hair. Unlike most brides, I had no idea what I wanted. My hair turned out lovely!

Kathy Griglio gave me the best color and haircut. I could not have left there more happy with the entire experience. She is great at explaining the process as you go, and recommending the best products to help you look your best. I would definitely recommend people to give her, and the salon a try.

Kathy Grigilo has moved to Slate Salon in Edmonds. She is such an amazing cut + colorist. I have been going to her since she moved from Seven Salon. She is fun and funny. Slate is a great place– really easy to park and great open air feel.

I went to Slate Salon based on the recommendation of a friend and a coworker. Six years ago I lost my hair and it grew back a strange concoction of textures. Two years ago I decided to jump on the ombré bandwagon and it ruined my hair. I finally had all of the damaged hair cut off and was left with a blunt cut that was neither flattering nor interesting. I walked into the salon yesterday to get a consultation on what they could do for my hair. The receptionist was friendly and quickly found someone to assist me. Shana met with me, examined my hair, and recommended a cut and a keratin treatment. She was upfront about the cost which I appreciated. I went ahead and booked the appointment for the next day (today). I went home and did research on Keratin treatments and was very concerned that it would not be for me and my hair type which is wavy frizz and very thin and fine. I met with the stylist again today to get my haircut having resolved in the back my mind to not go through with the keratin treatment based on my research. I explained to her my concerns, She was very receptive and kind and not at all pushy, but she convinced me that the treatment was a good option for me and my hair type. She went into all the details of how the treatment works and what it consists of to reassure me that my hair was not once again going to fall out. I can honestly say after having that treatment my hair has not looked or felt so smooth, silky, healthy, and manageable. She also helped advice me into a cut that I absolutely love and look forward to me. I am so happy with my results. I will definitely go back and recommend this place to others.

I am visiting from San Francisco and really wanna get my hair done. I went to this place without knowing anything/​anyone but I’m so glad I did. Don’t wanna say much about the salon itself cause I’m sure you get this place is modern and nice if you read those comments below. One thing I do wanna recommend tho, ask for Kathy!!! She is the best!!! She is experienced and know what costumers want. She did a balayage on me and it looks AMAZING!!! Seriously, ask for Kathy!

This place is a godsend to any woman who needs to get away! The open floor plan and modern feel is very inviting! Positive people and wonderful artists! Molly Stoulil is a miracle worker with facials, brow waxing and tints! Sabine give the best Mani’s and pedi’s and they last longer than any I’ve ever had done and believe me I put my nails through heck! Christina does a fabulous job on my hair but with over 20 stylist to choose from you have so many options and they’re all great! Highly recommend this place love going there have been going there for about a year! Will not go back to that big box spa at the mall! Downtown Edmonds is so much more relaxing and less congested! Amazing experience everytime! Two sparkly beautifully polished thumbs up!

I have seen Jessica a few times now and she is truly a miracle worker! The first time I saw her I loved the way she balayaged my hair, and I knew that she would be my new colorist! Prior to Jessica, I had been balayaging for about 5 years and never really loved the way my hair looked, but I didn’t want to go back to foils. She takes the time to listen and understand what you are trying to achieve and makes it happen. For Christmas this year I received a gift card to a high end salon so I decided to make an appointment there with a senior colorist. WORST MISTAKE EVER! My hair looked terrible, I couldn’t even believe it was possible for someone to do such a terrible job! I was on the verge of tears and leaving on vacation in 2 days and freaking out! I called Jessica and she was able to get me in the next day. She made my hair looking amazing with damaging it any further! I was beyond thrilled with the results! I will never again make the mistake of seeing anyone else. If you want awesome hair you must see Jessica!

I have been going to Jamie at Slate Salon and Spa for almost a year and I LOVE HER. She does such a great job of coloring and cutting my hair. I have very fine hair and she knows exactly how to cut it so it looks thicker and fuller than it is. And I love the color. It looks very natural and colors all of my gray! She is the best and so nice too. The salon is very nice and comfortable. Go see Jamie, you will be very happy with the results

I get my hair done with Lisa M. I was so happy to find her because I had been searching Seattle for a good hair stylist. I have a pixie and I had a hard time finding someone who understood what I wanted. Lisa is great at giving me the cut I want.
Our most recent appointments have been transitioning me into a blonde for my first time! We did it gradually and now I am right where I want to be :) My hair still feels great because Lisa uses great product to make sure my hair didn’t get too damaged during the lightening process. I really love my hairdo! Thank you Lisa!

Great, clean atmosphere. Amazing customer service, products & stylists! Jaime has done my hair for 6 years — I would follow her to Timbuktu. Highly recommend. Easy street parking, too.
