Edmonds Theater

I love this little local theater. Actually it’s not so little, but it is great. This place has the best pricing for both the movies and concessions. As mall theater pricing has been creeping up, up, up, this still feels very affordable whether you are a single person or a whole family. I believe matinée is $ 6, and evening $ 9. The seats aren’t the big plush seats that the bigger theaters have, but they do just fine, it’s a little tight if you have people climbing over you though. Let me talk about the popcorn here though-it’s the best, tastes so good and fresh, so good! So if you want to escape the multiplexes and experience a bit of old school charm in a beautiful town, come visit the Edmonds Theater.

Very sad! My daughter who is deaf had been excited and patiently waiting for Alice through the looking glass. Drove over specifically for the 1:00 showing with captions only to tell her there will be no words. :(

this theater is one of my faves. my wife and i come here everytime we’re visiting the in-​laws. super reasonable prices, amazing fresh popcorn, and we even saw some throw-​back movies heer! the staff is some of the friendliest people i’ve ever had the. pleasure of interacting with. the kid at the ticket counter with the septum ring was very nice and even laughed when my wife pointed out that he looks like thAt guy from the new star wars movie (even though i’m sure hes heard it before haha). then, the girl with the colored hair at the concessions counter was so friendly and didnt rush us to make a decision. she even gave us a combo to save a little $!! last time we were here there was a guy behind the counter who seemed higher than a kite! haha! whatever works, right? all in all, a great little theater. def. initely worth a stop if you have time. i’d give it ¹⁰⁄₁₀ stars if i could!

Rare locally owned 1 screen theater. I’d definitely try to see more movies here if we lived closer. Service is always friendly and the style of everything is classic. Allow extra time for a bio break as the bathrooms are upstairs and small (often a line).

Great little vintage theater. Now, with vintage comes no hot water in the bathrooms and some broken down seats here and there – to be expected with the age of the building – and you definitely get a really neat feeling that you’re part of history. But everything else is great! They have very reasonable prices for their concessions and give free popcorn refills. The staff is very friendly, unlike a lot of the modern chain theaters.
I really like that they host events and are involved with supporting the local community. They have a free weekly Sci-​Fi movie night hosted by Other Worlds (awesome steampunk/​sci-​fi shop in Edmonds) which is really cool. All they ask is that you buy something from the concession stand which is again totally reasonable. They get the top movies too – saw Age of Ultron, among many others, and believe me, there was nothing lacking in screen size, sound, etc.

What a great movie theater! My wife and I saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens here when most of the other theaters were sold out. We enjoyed a nice diner a few blocks away and then walked to the theater. The screen, sound system, and chairs were all reasonable up to date so we could throughly enjoy the movie. What more could a movie goer ask for? The only down side to going to this theater is that they only show one movie, so, you can’t show up at the theater and have a few movies to pick from.

Edmonds theatre is locally run and a great contributor to the community. It’s reasonably priced, comfortable and has first run movies along with free showings of classics and current shows. Love them!

Family owned and great quality! Great popcorn and price! The Edmonds Theater always has the newest movies. This theater has a free showing of The Walking Dead every Sunday night. If you are a fan of the show watching it on the big screen is the only way to watch it! My family feels that the Edmonds theater is a gift to Edmonds!

This is a great family owned one screen theatre which also means there aren’t outrageous prices.

Great venue! Went here for the first time last night. Cute place, comfortable seating, affordable admission/​concessions and just like the big box cinemas; they have Cherry Coke on tap! Being an independent theatre, I could tell the people liked working there! And it’s rewarding to support a local business like this place.

This movie theater is absolutely fantastic. I can’t give it a high enough recommendation. The staff are wonderful, the seating is comfortable, the price is more than reasonable and I have had nothing but great experiences here. It’s honestly spoiled me on other theaters. Not only do they have first run movies, but they have fun nights that appeal to my geeky side (for example this Thursday they are showing Galaxy Quest, other times they show Dr Who and other tv shows on the big screen), it is wonderful for families and perfect for a date.

Love stepping back in time and sitting on a balcony to watch the movie. The staff is super friendly and the price is good. All in all a enjoyable experience.

Small-​town vibe with all the charm and nostalgia you envision with the movies. Very small theater, but the friendly service and adorable factor far outweigh any razzle dazzle that may be missing. Tip: Entire theater is available to rent out for private showings. A friend recently rented the place for 3 hours to have a holiday viewing of «Love Actually.» The theater even threw in free popcorn!

This place is adorable! I came here for a movie screening event being put on for/​with a nonprofit with which I volunteer. The staff were super friendly and got us set up at a table right in front to greet the guests, and got everything ready for us to use the theater. It’s a very small space, so I can’t imagine being here for a large-​scale event or really popular movie, but it’s quaint in its limited size. There’s a balcony which I didn’t check out (and which requires you to be 18+ to use) and a cute little concession stand with yummy popcorn and other snacks. It’s an older theater as well, but really cute and I’d love to come back for another movie sometime.
Side note: you can apparently rent out the theater for an event, which is what the person running our event did. Good to know!

This is such a cute little theater. It is in downtown Edmonds and the theater is obviously a little older so if you are looking for the most saavy high tech electronics and viewing experience, you probably want to head up the road to the theaters near Alderwood mall. This theater does have great sound and an upstairs balcony for those 18+ years old. All movies prior to 5pm are ALWAYS $ 6 and kids always get a free small popcorn. VERY CUTE theater :)

I was on a date with my girlfriend when we decided to give this local theater a try. We both fell in love with the place. It’s got this vintage feel that’s warm and charming. Perfect intimate spot to catch current flicks with family and friends. Much better experience than an overly crowded mall theater. I’ll be coming back again!

Not perfect but I love this theatre. I first saw twilight here with my brother. Which I know sounds creepy but isn’t. I like that its old school and a little more one on one interactive.

First time I went to this theater for the first time last night and I loved it! I loved the woman who worked the concession, she was just the sweetest! I love the old theater feel… reminded me of movie theaters growing up :)
Will definitely go back there for another show!

We saw Zero Dark Thirty at Edmonds Theater last night.
I freaking love this place.
From the nerdy stoner dude selling tickets, to the support your own local advertising before the flick, this place is great. They even have nutritional yeast for the popcorn. What’s that? THAT’s a star bump!
Highly recommend a little late afternoon trip to Edmonds to stroll downtown and catch a movie. Sit up on the balcony and be pleased how cool you are to be over 18 and allowed to sit on the balcony.

Popcorn was good, but it took so long to get it ready for a few people. Which made me think: how long you need to wait for it if there is a crowd of people?
It was pretty warm inside. I liked that.
Sound was weird. I could not get use to it. First i thought there is someone talking or whispering but then I realized that speakers were giving a «third party» sound. lol. Sounded like they had sounds like forest noise or whisper going out of speakers on the right side on the back. It was distracting.
Seats were ok.
I don’t know if i will be back.
I tried to call that place, but all I could get is answering machine. No website ether. :(. Strange that they sell groupons and don’t even have a scanner for this. I don’t understand this.

I’m a fan of the old school theaters that are a little dark, a little dank, and a little historic. Just offers a different feel and tends to draw a different crowd of people.
They have some pretty cheap tickets compared to the bigger chain theaters as well. All in all a good place.

I love this theater! It reminds me of the little family place I used to go as a kid. The interior is all original old school stylie. The popcorn is good and not too salty and the staff is really nice. I love that only adults are allowed on the balcony since the rails are short… woo hoo… movie in peace. It’s just a great little place that makes you feel so much more a part of a community than a sterile theater at the mall. Highly recommended.

A bit unprepossessing from the outside, this actually turns out to be a nice little historic theater inside. It’s got a great vintage feel to the way you walk up to the box office (actually more of a mini-​desk), further up to the narrow concession stand, and then twist and turn as you work your way further through the lobby.
The spaces are all confined, and in the event that a big crowd is waiting in the lobby for the next show to start, well, you’re kinda sunk. They can sell 250 tickets, but 90% of those people won’t fit between the front door and the hallway to the auditorium. That’s actually kinda cool, though.
Before you do get to the auditorium, you pass a staircase that leads to… a balcony. That’s what officially makes this a cool old-​school theater. Small as it might be, it has a balcony. Pretty sweet.
Inside, the picture’s good, and so’s the sound. Screen is pretty small. I probably wouldn’t come see a restored print of Lawrence of Arabia here. But if you’re not completely preoccupied with the visuals, it’s perfectly great. The seats are comfortable, and the place certainly is clean everywhere you look. Everyone in line and inside seems to know somebody else in the crowd – it really is quite the neighborhood setting.
I’ve lived closer to this theater than almost any other for 7 years now, counting two different houses. It’s a wonder I haven’t been in before. There are half a dozen places between your parking spot and here where I like to eat (and/​or at least will willingly eat), and a couple good spots for a tipple as well. It’s silly not to see movies here. Plus, tickets are $ 8 a piece. Compared to buying them online in advance for most theaters, that’s about $ 5 less than a typical pair of tickets. Hard to argue with that.
