I recently had an emergency eye situation and was referred as a new patient to Dr. Takagi by a doctor at Swedish Medical Center. Dr. Takagi not only took the time to examine without an appointment, but also then followed up with my other doctors to make sure I was getting the best care possible for my situation. Having never met me before, he listened to my medical history and was instrumental in me getting on the correct path for my condition. Also, his entire staff – front desk, nurse – everyone was kind and helpful.

My family has seen Dr Takagi for 20years. His service is exceptional and we will continue to see him for years to come

Last week, I had an eye exam and ordered new progressive glasses from Dr.Takagi. Even though they were crowded, Dr Takagi and his staff administered the exam and helped me select glasses without much of a wait. They were professional and courteous and also have a nice selection of glasses.

Others have noted that Dr. Takagi is rushed and does not spend a lot of time with you. His staff does most of the exam and he sees you briefly at the end. I feel more confident that the doctor doing the full exam will find any problems, though to my knowledge nothing was ever missed on my exams there. Dr. Takagi’s office sells eyeglasses that seemed expensive to me. My current doctor does the full exam himself and spends ample time, and answers all me questions.

I would NOT recommend this doctor. I was recommended to Dr. Takagi by a friend. He is always so rushed, treats you as if you are a bother when you ask a question and then is VERY condescending when he does answer briefly. My daughter has seen him numerous times and we are still not getting the correct prescription. We are finally done and changing doctors. The two people that take care of contacts and glasses are WONDERFUL! This is the only reason we still have continued to go there. Unfortunately, we need a doctor that will take time to explain things and make the issues we are having make sense to us.

I made an appointment for my dad regarding his glaucoma. Dr Takagi was rushed each time we saw him, acted like he couldn’t be bothered and missed the primary problem my dad was having with his optic nerve. Saw a specialist at UW Medicine who correctly diagnosed him. A precious waste of time since my dad lost sight in one eye as a result.

I highly recommend avoiding this doctor at ALL costs. He is exceptionally rude and condescending especially to females. I have seen this doctor twice. The second time, my retina detached and he missed it. Luckily I went and saw another ophthalmologist who caught the issue. I have lost some of my eye sight as a result of his incompetence and neglect. His office staff is very kind and friendly but they do not make up for this doctor’s terrible personality.

VSP listed for lasik. I don’t really have a review yet, but this should come up on a search for VSP.
