It is nice that it is right on the beach but there is no character in the place or the staff. Food was okay. If you ask for water it is bottled and $ 1.50 each.

They only get two stars because everyone else I was with had a decent meal. Our server started out ok but quickly went downhill. I never got my entrée or was offered another drink. They took 20% off of the bill to try to make things right. Our server never came back to deal with The issue but sent various other servers over to handle our table, the manger never visited the table to Apologize for my order never coming out. Or the fact that my friends entrée was totally wrong and tasted awful but she decided not to tell the server, wish I had now. I decided to find the manger in the bar area to discuss the experience and she was obviously too young and inexperienced for that role and completely overwhelmed. It was slightly busy in my opinion but not crazy busy. Her response to me was and I quote«I’ve been to busy up here getting ready for the band to arrive to deal with the restaurant and so what we gave you 20% off». Well unacceptable response. I told her«first of all your not that busy and your fully staffed. Secondly you don’t have random servers deal with problems it’s your job as the manager to deal with these types of issues, so if this is how your treat your patrons what is the incentive to ever return and even give your establishment another chance. Then her time changed slightly and she asked if I had already paid the bill. I had. She was ready to take care of the whole bill but since I paid already she offered us to return the next day to eat at half price. No thank you… Won’t ever come back when I return to the island not because of your servers but because of your initial response. I do enjoy Edisto Island though

Seafood was good and portions were reasonable. Nice view of the ocean. Was disappointed that the pier wasn’t accessible which would verge best view on Edisto

My husband and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food so much. The bar is awesome because you feel like you’re sitting ON the ocean. The bartender Kirby was so pleasant to talk to and his service was outstanding as well as Whitney’s. We especially enjoyed the She Crab Soup, it arrives with a big yummy shrimp on the side of the bowl. I also liked the boiled peanuts and bratwurst. They have a large screen TV and had football plating for the fans. We went there almost everyday because it such a friendly place and the view is so relaxing. You can also walk out onto the pier and sit at tables there, too. We can’t wait to return to this great restaurant! Thanks Kirby!

Fins… hmmm, what can I say about fins. The location is great, right on the beach. In fact, it’s the only restaurant on edisto beach. For that reason, I ate here on default. The food was good, but not great. I had the fresh fish. It was mahi mahi with a teriyaki glaze. It came with an arugula salad and grits. I don’t really understand grits, but I guess they were good? The fish was cooked fine, and the salad was up to par. I found the prices to be kinda high, especially for the serving size. The server was friendly, always had a smile, and was attentive. Good employees at this place. The aquarium inside was nice, and if I recall prperly, there lamp game was alright. I would eat here again, if I had to.

Corn fritters and boom boom shrimp were served fresh and tasted good. The shrimp could use a bit more seasoning and sauce. Fish tacos had no hint of fishy flavor which was great. The pico and cheese were very flavorful and a great compliment to the taco where as there was a too much lime juice. The fries were nice and crispy and had a pleasant breading. I requested ranch dressing for the shrimp and it arrived about the time we were done with the tacos and only had fries left. The service was slow, but we were advised when arriving that the nickname is «edislow» because people take their time and no one is in a rush. There is a pier attached and you’re able to see the ocean and wildlife. The food was nice, the service left some to be desired, but overall a nice place.

Great ocean views and good fried seafood! I really liked the seafood at Finn’s, big shrimp and good fresh fish. We asked about the combo platter since it says it’s big enough for two people so we decided to split it. It’s probably the best deal on Edisto because you get 2 fish fillets, 6 big shrimp, 6 scallops and 8 fried oysters, plus sides for 2 people for $ 32. We also sampled the crab cake app, and it was delicious, much more crab than cake. Like most other places on Edisto, they charge $ 2 for bottle water and they only have sweet tea, so go ahead and get a beer, you’re on vacation anyway right!

This review is only for the bar! We stopped in on a Friday night at the end of the season. The place was not crowded, there was only one bar tender. That being said, the service was not the best but the bar tender was very pleasant. The drinks were what you would expect of a touristy beach bar. Outside of its location, only business on the ocean on Edisto Beach, there is really nothing that makes this bar stand out. We had visited this establishment when under the previous owner. It is better, cleaner, and generally nicer. Perhaps because of it being the end of the season they didn’t have much going on, put we had hoped for some music as it was a Friday.

Great food and service! The food at Finn’s Island Grill appears simple, but the flavors have remarkable depth. We will be back to Finn’s next time we visit. Thank you for making our experience so wonderful!

This was really a disappointment. Very low end food priced as though you were lucky to be served. A battered deep fried pork chop… really? Soggy mahi-mahi, and one nasty cheeseburger. How do you make a cheese burger taste like that? I couldn’t tell if the white sauce on it was bad or just the meet. This is just a dumb place with a good location. Walking out was our first thought when we went in… should have stuck with it. Better options in Edisto are the SeaCow and McConkey’s Jungle Shack.

Service was ok, we went between lunch and dinner so they put us in the bar. The bar wasn’t the problem but the bartender was pretty rude at first and seemed like he didn’t want us in there. Out of everyone that ordered the only thing that looked good was the Shrimp and Grits.

Was here for a rehearsal dinner so I didn’t get a chance to see the entire menu, but I had ribs and tasted some of the crab cakes and was impressed. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect, but the food was very good and came with a good sized portion and the interior was also nice with a great view overlooking the ocean. Definitely a place I would return to on my next trip here.

I was at Finn’s during my family vacation and I had starved all day long! The restaurant was situated on waterfront with a very nice view of the beach. We got an order of corn fritters as an appetizer. The corn fritters were close to being burnt and the frying oil clearly needed a change because the fritters were also dark — not golden brown… I was hoping that the fryer oil that the fish platter that we got for entrée were being fried in a cleaner and newer oil but I was sort of disappointed to learn that was not the case. The platter had a very nice selection of fish(flounder, oyster, scallop, and shrimp). I just hoped that they were fried in better and cleaner oil. Oysters seemed like they were not as fresh and the batter was a little bit overwhelming. Service was 3⁄5. The server was somewhat attentive of our needs. Mixed drinks and other frozen alcoholic beverages were made well. My mother got a strawberry daiquiri, which was pretty delicious. Also, if you need to drink water, BYOW(bring your own water). They charge for bottled water services; I was not happy with that… Hope this helps!

Horrible customer service. Our waitress was pushy on beer choices and food. My husbands steak was requested a med temp, it was extra well done then when we sent it back the waitress returned with a raw steak. She was being very smart butt about it. She said the lighting was different in the kitchen. The bill was outrageous plus the appetizers were suppose to be corn fritters and tasted like burnt hush puppies. Horrible experience especially while on vacation. The beach has maybe 3 seafood restaurants and Finns is one of them. Great views but horrible food and customer service. I finally received a call back from the owner which I requested because I felt someone needed to know how horrible the service was. He was a complete jerk, defended the waitress and basically called me a liar. He was very rude just like the waitress. Why would I waste my time complaining if it wasn’t true? That business has changed hands so many times now I understand why. I would not go back to this place if you paid me to. HORRIBLE. Dont waste your money or time while visiting Edisto.

Started off at the bar because of the ocean views and after being ignored on numerous occasions by several bar staff we headed to the restaurant side. The service was better, but the food was sub-par. I got the fried flounder and my aunt got the daily special. Certainly not 4 stars like the reviews advertise. Overall, the food was not great and the customer service was poor.

This was my first time in Edisto Beach and I really enjoyed Finns. The menu only has about 12 items but I think that’s a good thing. I had the crab cake sandwich which was awesome. My girlfriend had the shrimp & grits which also looked great. There’s also a beautiful Atlantic view. My only issue was the service was a bit slow. We visited on a Saturday and there were only two servers in the afternoon. Despite that, I’d definitely recommend it for any seafood lover

Came in to eat at high tide. I asked the waiter what he would choose between the pork chops and steak sandwich. A bit suspicious being from Iowa as we perfected both. He chose the pork chops. He chose wisely. Two pork chops came smothered in country gravy with heap of grits and a hush puppy. They were done very well(not to be mistaken with«well done»). My wife had the Mahi and the sampling I snuck was great. The kids had mini hot dogs and they were perfect sizes for the kids.

We just stopped in for a drink at the bar. The bartender was nice. We couldn’t see the view, only large amounts of bird poop. They need to hire someone to take care of that regularly.

Corn bread served with the meal. Appetizer was blue cheese, blacked sea scallops. a little rare, but no grit or sand taste, awesome! Orders 5 kids meals, chicken tenders and corn dogs. fries were good! normal strips. 3 adults ordered the daily fresh fish, halibut, shrimp and grits and Lobster Mac and cheese. Grits were the only down side, very sweet. if you like that, then good. Lobster Mac and cheese were delish, kids and wife, finished my plate for me. Its spendy, but were on vacation, and to be expected! If you want a good meal looks no further. Bathrooms were great. Service was great. Good beer selection. 5 kids meals, 3 adult meals, appetizer, drinks, and a great view. $ 157.00 plus tip!

We spent the past week camping at Edisto Beach State Park, and stopped in at Finn’s to grab a late lunch before starting the long trek home. The restaurant was calm and relaxed, and the wait staff was attentive and polite, although not exactly friendly. We snagged a table in the corner with huge windows overlooking the beach and ocean. Everybody was enthralled with the gulls, waves and the crazy jet skiers… the locale is spot on! We skipped drinks, so I cannot offer any insight on that aspect. There is a limited children’s menu that offers $ 8 – 9 meals for the kiddos. I could only convince one to eat the flounder which was done very nicely. The grits were not a big hit, but that could be our Yankee palates. My beau usually sticks with burgers and steak, but, in the spirit of our trip, he ventured into the seafood section of the menu. As he put it, deep frying fixes everything. His fried shrimp meal had huge, plump shrimp, crispy steak fries, and a crunchy, light coleslaw that was just perfect. I ordered one of the season specials… a warm salad of arugula, baby peas, Brussels sprouts, and couscous in a mint pesto with grilled trigger fish. It was spectacular! The trigger fish was absolutely lovely. Buttery and tender and expertly complimented by the flavors of the warm couscous salad. Between the casual atmosphere, ocean views, reliable stand-by dishes, and creative offerings, Finn’s was an excellent choice for our last stop!
