History
Established in 1995.
Kate opened a full-service grooming salon, The Pet Project, on Oak Tree Road in May of 1989. When she had the opportunity to move to the present location on Harding Avenue in 1995, she finally fulfilled her dream of opening the kind of cats-only boarding facility which she would want to care for her own kitties. Since then she has been caring for her feline guests to their hearts’ content!
Today the Pet Project and Kate’s Kitty Jungle operate at the same location offering professional grooming services for any pet including «cats-only» appointments for feline VIPs and the finest in feline boarding care.
Meet the Business Owner
Kate M.
Business Owner
Kate’s career with animals began in 1980 as she embarked upon the hobby of raising and exhibiting Maine Coon cats. During these years she also worked part-time as a veterinary assistant and garnered much valuable knowledge and many skills that have served to improve the level of care she offers at the Kitty Jungle today.
In 1987 she graduated the Nash Academy of Animal Arts and began to move toward a full-time career in pet care. 1987 saw the opening of the Pet Project, a full-service grooming salon, in Edison. In 1995 she moved the Pet Project to Harding Avenue and added Kate’s Kitty Jungle, only the second «cats-exclusive» boarding facilty in New Jersey at the time.
Since then she has happily devoted herself to providing the very best in care for all her feline guests.
