Elements Massage

I originally started going to Elements because I ran a half marathon that I didn’t train for. I was in pain and could barley walk… I definitely don’t recommend ever doing that! I decided to get a Groupon and try out Elements for a sports massage to alleviate some of the pain I was in. My first massage was with a guy named Louis. He was excellent. Truthfully I still don’t know what the difference between a sports massage and a regular one is but it was good. Because of the soreness from the half marathon, it hurt to walk but after the massage I felt 150% better and had less trouble walking. I know no longer think Louis is working there. This place seems to have a high turnover rate with the therapists. I sense bad vibes from management and the staff. it’s just a hunch my friend and I get from the aurora whenever we go there. You can sense the tension.
I didn’t plan to go back to Elements but alas it was my friend’s bday and I didn’t know what to get her. I treated her and myself to a massage. This time I had a girl. She was just okay. But again, I don’t think she’s working there anymore. Somehow this time when I went I ended up signing up for their monthly massage plan! omg I am such a sucker! Each month you pay $ 60 for one massage. If you don’t use a month, you can bank sessions, provided a year does not pass. You can also give the name of a friend who can use sessions in your place. Why am I a sucker? Bc for an entire year, I did not go once! I work and go to school. I do not have the money or time to do monthly massages, I am an idiot. So anyways, I call them up and put my account on a three month suspension where they don’t charge me and during that time I could use up my sessions. I enlisted one of my besties to help cause there is no way I could have afforded tip for all those sessions on my own! So her and I have been going there for the last three months about every 2 weeks or so to use up my sessions. Honestly it’s been a lot of fun. We feel like spoiled rich girls pampering ourselves and always go out to dinner afterwards, it makes for a fun night! In that time, I was introduced to a therapist named Jason. He is incredible!!! And since then, I have not switched therapists. He is the sole reason why I think I might even keep my account. If he leaves Elements for any reason, I would definitely cancel. Before I wouldn’t imagine that I would like seeing the same therapist each time but you build such a nice rapport with them when you do! I’ve gone through a lot of stressful events in the last three months, and seeing Jason’s friendly face, and him working his magic has honestly been the only highlights of some of my weeks! My friend also likes her therapist named Patricia who does a deep tissue massage. My friend first started off with another female therapist that she did not like. She called Elements up, and they had her switched with no problem. I also like that Jason seems to know what I like and don’t like and tailors each massage to my style. Also even though I get him each time, it’s never the same massage twice. I can’t imagine getting a massage from anyone else now!
The receptionist Mike is also very nice. I am worried they got rid of him though because we haven’t seen him in a while. My friend and I would always get into nice conversations with him and he made us feel comfortable. Management if you’re reading this and got rid of Mike, you really made a mistake! They really need to put more value into who the customers like and who are friendly to them. it’s the little things that are important! Anyways, I would only recommend Elements if you can’t find a cheaper massage place and vibe with your therapist. Again, I will definitely cancel if Jason leaves.

Do not listen to any of the negative reviews. They do not force you into the membership they suggest it to help you save money and boy am I glad they did. Who doesn’t like massages under $ 100?! I’ve had a few therapists so far and none have disappointed. I have met the owners on one of my weekend visits and they are such kind people; making sure you’re well taken care of. I highly recommend. They also run great promotions for members!

Ok massage. I had to use a dummy email because I know they harass whoever gives a bad review. Horrible service. The excuse of a receptionist they have is nothing more than a car salesman in disguise. They seem to care more about reviews and memberships then the actual happiness of the clients. The owners and the «front desk» discuss business openly in front of clients and it’s very uncomfortable. Take your business elsewhere.

Yikes!!! Awful my husband gave me a message gift card for our second anniversary. When I arrived here the foyer was freezing and it was no different when I got into the therapy room. As my therapist was talking to me just before the massage a man opened the door and began to walk into the room. I was shocked but figured it was a mistake. After I got on the table and the massage began I told the therapist that the room was really cold. That was just the beginning… not only was the room uncomfortably cold but when the therapist touched me her hands were freezing and the lotion was ice cold! So cold I jumped. She was apologetic but the massage was so uncomfortable because every time she touched me it was freezing. I asked again if the room could be warmer and she said no but I can tell the front desk later. I was really uncomfortable, my entire back was exposed, I was freezing and her hands and the lotion was so cold I was clenching my fists and decided to stop the session after less than 20 minutes into it. She went to tell the front desk and when I got to the front desk the receptionist was kind enough to tell me that not only would they not refund my gift card but that she was charging my credit card for the additional amount the gift card would not cover!!! Needless to say I called my credit card company to notify them. Please don’t waste your money on this place. Go to Massage Envy instead which is exactly what I did. They have way better service, much more professional in every way and warmer! Buyer beware!

I had a wonderful experience here. I have never had a real massage or with a male therapist. I was matched up with James and boy was he great. Worked out all my knots and soreness. I asked him not to touch my ankle and he completely listened. Will be going back next month :)

The atmosphere of this place is very nice, though I felt pressured to buy a package deal or more massages when i hadn’t even gotten my massage yet. I was a little confused by the process, I was gifted an hour long massage and the woman asked where I wanted to be massaged and I said I wanted my upper back and feet massaged. The woman massaged my whole body, but not my feet which were very sore. But she never said that it wasn’t part of the massage or anything about it, I doubt she just forgot or ran out of time. So my body felt weird after all being massaged except the thing that needed it the most. It was a very nice massage. The experience was pretty relaxing and I did enjoy it very much

Melissa insisted that Mike was the best deep tissue therapist even though I wanted a female. Mike was all about strength but lacking on techniques. After the 50minutes, I was sore and couldn’t be happier that it was over. Melissa tried upselling and made sure I left Mike a tip. I would not go back.

«Meh» is all I have to say about this place.
As soon as I made my appointment, the manager Melissa starting raving about James, who I would have my massage with. And as soon as I walked into the place, she kept saying over and over again how he was the best and I was so lucky and she was so jealous that I was getting a massage from him. It felt so contrived, and her continual raving about him made me wonder if she was just saying it because she wanted me to think he was better than he actually was, or if she said it about everyone.
As for the massage itself, it was good, but not great. There really wasn’t anything special about it at all. It was good for what it was, but this isn’t a business that I’d rave about and recommend to someone. I’ve gotten massages with massage therapists much more attentive than James was, who made me feel much more relaxed and comfortable.
I’m glad there was a discount for my first massage, because $ 99 would have been far too much for what I got. I won’t be going back.

My boyfriend and I typically try to get couples massages together but we weren’t able to find any reasonable ones in the area, so we settled for two separate massages at the same time.
I found Elements Massage in Edison off a google search for local massages and figured «eh, why not.»
My boyfriend and I were both running late and we needed to push back our appointment times, twice. But Melissa, the manager, was very understanding and accommodating when I spoke to her on the phone. She said she was grateful we called to give her the heads up. Melissa is very considerate and very friendly in person as well.
My massage was done by Lilian, who was excellent! Lilian is an excellent massage therapist, very sweet, and very funny if you happen to strike up a conversation with her during your massage. I was 110% relaxed during my massage, and afterwards I felt so relax and limber. My boyfriend’s massage was done by Louis, and he said that Louis was amazing. Overall we had an excellent experience with Elements Massage in Edison. After getting dressed your massage therapist will meet you at your door with your choice of either cold or room temp bottled water. Although it’s a small gesture, it’s the gesture with it’s detail that makes the experience that much better.
The staff was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We will definitely be returning customers, and I would highly recommend this location to everyone.

a much better option than massage envy or hand and stone. the prices are super reasonable, the customer is service is excellent — both reception and the therapists. I had Lewis and he was fantastic. he listened to exactly what I wanted and I felt great after. plus they are always running a promotion. I will definitely be back

I received a groupon as a gift and saved it for my birthday. Im glad I did because the massage that Ryan gave me was perfect and wonderful! I will definitely be returning. The only con was that you could hear some conversations but other than that no complaints.

I bought a Groupon for an 80-​minute massage, and I loved my experience at Elements. I usually get massages once or twice a year just to relax, and they’ve only been 50-​minute massages. I always felt that by the time I was finally relaxed, the massage was over. That’s why I decided to book a longer massage. Sandra was my massage therapist, and she was awesome. I like a pretty gentle massage, and Sandra applied the perfect amount of pressure. I really did not want to leave.
The receptionists were also very kind and helpful.

Bought my boyfriend a 55 minute massage on groupon. They were very polite over the phone and super nice. When we arrived the day of the appointment, the desk girl immediately recognized us, by name and super friendly. He said his massage therapist was well trained and used the right amount of pressure he asked for. (Which was a 5). Only downside is they really try to sell you on packages and stuff. Overall, definitely would go back!

I just left elements and had an amazing experience. James was my therapist (first man therapist I’ve had) and he was extremely professional and responsive to my needs. He consistently asked me about the pressure and adjusting as needed. They do have a membership program which is month to month, not like the annual locked down programs at some other places. And you can cancel at any time. At the time I decided not to sign up because of my crazy schedule for work but I am definitely thinking about it. All in all I would definitely go back there again! They have great hours especially for people that work during the day. They are open until 9pm!

I used them a couple of weeks ago. I even «signed up» for the membership. The massage was just okay (I had Sandra). I’ve had better. But since they’re close to my house I thought I would sign up, try some of their other massage therapists, give it a shot. I left thinking to myself that having monthly massages was a good idea. All was fine. Then I got a call a few days later that my credit card was not on file. Ummm… why not? I paid and they swiped it. They wanted me to come back in to give it to them. I slept on it and decided I was just gonna let it go and take it as a sign.
Just a few minutes ago I got another call. They claim I had an appointment that I missed on Aug. 5^th!!! What!!! I said I had no such appointment. That, in fact, they somehow lost my credit card number and, while I had them on the phone, I would please like to cancel. Then she says the ONLY WAY TO CANCEL IS TO COME IN AND FILL OUT PAPERS. I said, «Really? why do I need to do that? Technically, since you don’t have my credit card on file, I don’t have a membership.» She insisted the only way to cancel a membership is to come in and fill out paperwork. So… for those of you doing this… beware.
The only reason I didn’t rate them even lower is that they place does seem clean and the tables are good quality and I don’t want to be completely difficult. But this experience does not make me feel confident in dealing with them.
This paragraph is an add on several weeks later. My original review still stands. However, I wanted to add that when I went back to cancel it was pretty painless. Just one sheet of paper I had to sign. And the woman was very apologetic that their computer system somehow erased my credit card info. I might try them again some other time when I am ready.
