The company they sent called in a very timely manner and made an arangement to come out. The service person that can out was professional and handles the problem. This has always been the case. We’ve been with CHW for years and plan to stay.

STAY AWAY! I called them because my air went out on my rental home. They sent out a «technician «who said it was the motor. They wouldn’t cover it because it was preexisting. Fine. The tech said he’d be back the next day to fix it. I had to put my renters in a hotel… it’s Phoenix, its 105 degrees. He comes back the next day replaces the capacitor. That doesn’t fix it. Says that repair is $ 189.00. Then he says its the compressor… yeah, right. Then he says I should replace the whole unit. I told him I called another company. He got mad and said I owed him $ 6000. I looked him up on BBB and he has an «F» rating!!! Serious accusations of not completing jobs, and stealing money and drugs!!! I asked them how they qualify their repairman? No response. I called the company to cancel. I had them less than a month, and they say they are refunding about 75% of my money because I was covered for 2 weeks. Great customer service. Don’t waste your money. What a nightmare!

I’ll be honest… I’ve had some good experience with this company, but this last one was not cool at all.
My A/​C was running constantly, so I had them send a tech. He said the freon was low, even though I had JUST had it serviced a couple of days before. He found the coils were leaking. Choice had them come back to take pictures (which he said was unusual) and they denied it based on rust/​corrosion. 1. It’s several years old. 2. when I talked to claims about it the girl said the leaking can CAUSE the rust/​corrosion! Which one is it???
I was told by the A/​C company that Cross Country or 2 – 10 is much better than Choice.

Avoid this company at all costs. They are the worst bottom feeding telemarketers in the world. They will hound you constantly. They will give you excuses after excuses as to why they keep calling you. When asked to speak to a manager they will forward you to their claim line which doesn’t have anything to do with sales. You will be getting telephone calls for months. Buyer beware.

Avoid. High pressure, mega spammers just saying anything to get your money and leave you hanging. Oh, we don’t cover that type of pumping, see on page 12 in the little type? You can call and be left on hold and if you send an e-​mail to them it gets returned as undeliverable. Massive headache

I received a phone call from Choice Home Warranty’s sales team based on an online inquiry. The salesman promised that they would fix an issue with my air conditioning unit, after the 30 day wait period. Because of the savings, I switched to Choice Home warranty, leaving a plan in which my AC unit would have been repaired.
After waiting 30 days, Choice denied the claim because it was pre-​existing, but the sales man said the repair would be covered after the wait period.
I would have NEVER cancelled my service, and waited 30 days in GA heat to have my AC unit repaired under these pretenses.
After speaking with management, they apologized that their salesman lied and was deceitful for a sale, but refused to honor it based on what he said, and its recorded on tape.
Poor customer service. Check out their BBB rating, its extremely poor for similar issues

Terrible customer service, they do not cover what they say they will, and the technicians they do send complain about not getting paid by them.

Well after reading their reviews I am pleased to include my «ONE STAR» it would be lower but you have to give at least one star in order to write a review. Our AC was not blowing cool air so I called them on Wednesday, May 25^th and to my surprise got a tech sent out within a couple of hours. Their tech inspected our AC unit and found it had NO Coolant inside and he found leaks. He reply to me was the system needs to be replaced and I will not try and add coolant as it will leak out and then I will be responsible for a possible $ 10,000 fine. He conducted a leakage test and forwarded the information to Choice Home Warranty. I contacted the company and this started their «RUN AROUND PROCESS»! I was told that Choice Home Warranty has up to 24 hours to review the claim and they would get back to me with a decision. I waited 24 hours and attempted to call Choice Home Warranty and again got their «RUN AROUND PROCESS»! The claims manager stressed that she would push the claim to the top of the manager that either approves or denies AC claims.
At 5:22 pm Central Time I got an email requesting me to contact their claims department so I spent another 45 minutes on hold before I spoke with someone regarding the claim. The claims manager informed me that my claim was being «DENIED» and the reason for their denial was due to my lack of maintenance and care for the AC unit. I attempted to request the service schedule for the unit to see if I had missed it as this unit was serviced last May. I was told their decision was to deny the claim and they could not and would not provide me with the service information but they were 100% sure that the failure was due to «LACK OF MAINTANCE» on my part. I requested they send me in writing the exact reason for their denial.
This company has «THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE» that I have ever been exposed to during my entire business career. I spend an average of 40 minutes either on hold or being transferred from one claims manager to another each time I called over the past 2 days. Needless to say I will be cancelling this «Joke of a Home Warranty» but I have to wait until tomorrow to cancel the policy since their cancellation department closes at 6 pm EST.
I will be surprised if this company actual sends me any information regarding their decision to deny the claim but I am recommending that if you are contacted by this company that you «DO NOT PURCHASE» their product. I found out there is a limit of $ 1500 per claim and the cost of having my AC unit replaced will exceed that amount. This company reminds me of the old insurance scams of «WE PROMISE TO COVER IT — UNTIL IT BREAKS» then we will find a reason not to pay the claim. So again do not walk but run away from this company. They want your money but don’t want to cover claims!!!
Well let me now add much more insult to an already serious injury from Choice Home Warranty. I called this afternoon, May 27, 2016 to cancel my contract and finally spoke with someone in their cancellation department. This company charged me $ 1975 for a 6 year contract which basically really doesn’t cover anything. So I spoke with a cancellation representative and found out this company’s cancellation policy which is really stacked in the favor of the company. Using simple math and knowing they have a $ 50 cancellation fee I was expecting the following: $ 1925 divided by the coverage term of 72 months which is a monthly coverage fee of approximately $ 26.74 per month. Their cancellation representative informed me their cancellation Pro Rated was $ 46.74 per month and since my contract had been in force for 22 months their company was entitled to $ 1028.28 plus they were keeping the $ 475 that they finally paid last year for a furnace blower motor plus their $ 50 cancellation fee. So their total amount they are retaining for providing effectively «NO SERVICE» is $ 1553.28 so my refund was going to be approximately $ 421.72. Well needless to say I wasn’t happy so I stated this was a total rip off and that I was going to post my displeasure with a company that provides no service and doesn’t pay a claim and in my opinion had just ripped me off for over $ 1500 of money. Their representative immediately stated the only way they would send me my very small refund is if I signed a «Non Disclosure Form» basically agreeing that I got «RIPPED OFF/​ROBBED» and a few other «CHOICE WORDS» but could not say anything to anyone about just how bad this company treats their customers. Well I can honestly say that I am not willing to get «ROBBED or RIPPED OFF» by a company or anyone and then set still and not make noise. So again I would ADVISE anyone looking at this company to look deep into the way this company does business as I would not recommend them to even my worst enemy! RUN — RUN — RUN away from this company!!!

Pretty fast response and the repair was taken care of quick and nice. We have used it twice so far.

My 1^st claim with this company went without a hitch. I needed my AC condenser replaced and it was done promptly and the customer service was great. It wasn’t until my Washing Machine broke, that the customer service, communication, and outcome were extremely disappointing.
Original service call was quick (2 days after filing the claim) but it took several attempts over the next week and a half to learn what the outcome was. First I was informed that the technician was released to procure the parts to fix my washing machine, but when I contacted the technician directly they said they have not heard from Choice regarding anything.
So I contacted Choice once again and they finally called me via an automated service and I waited 16 minutes before someone finally connected with me! Why would you auto call me if you didn’t have someone available to speak with me right a way?! I expressed my dissatisfaction to the service rep, whose tone of voice indicated she had not a care in the world.
Then she informed me that they’d offer me a measly $ 300 towards replacing my LG/​Energy Star front-​loading washing machine (2 yrs old) because it was going to cost too much to repair it. Where on earth can one purchase a similar washing machine for $ 300??? I then called back to speak to someone about where they came up with that amount. My contract does state they might not replace the full value however who makes up this arbitrary amount of $ 300 to replace my $ 700 washing machine? Once again I was put on hold and I hung up after several minutes. Totally disgusted in the outcome of this

It’s nice having to make one call and have someone else do all the work for you. I purchased 3 years and got a nice discount as well. $ 45 service fee is nothing in comparision to the stress, money and time wasted to find your own solution. I highly recommend using this company for house warrenty.

Finally after screaming on the phone to «Customer No Service», 4 phone calls and 2 fax messages and several email messages, I got a credit on my credit card for the $ 375…
I still say «STAY AWAY» !

Choice did what I was told they would do!
I was warned that at random times they will decide things that are normal wear will not be covered and worse will decide things are pre existing.
Well with my Ac all went fine, but my dishwasher was a different story.
They decided that the part that broke was pre existing! And the «smart» tech had a genius analogy! Would you expect if we put in s new piece it would break in a week? Well obviously not, but I bought the warranty jic it does!!!
I searched for the broken part on Sears appliances site, and it costs a whopping $ 20!!! So go ahead tell your customer they are lying to save $ 20.
I for one don’t think I could recommend them to anyone, but time shall tell if they try to pull bs if something else breaks (and I hope nothing does cuz I’m scared they will)

It’s mind boggling how I had to call back almost 3 weeks later and wait on hold for 20 minutes to be told by a rude cs agent that I’m lying then again on hold 10 minutes bc I asked how could they decide when something broke.
I should’ve stayed with select home instead of being conned into retainment by chw.
I also should have heeded the bells that it’s a no good company when the first thing they did when I told them I’m shopping around for best price is bash the other companies I told them I got quotes from.

I wish it was possible to give a «NO» star? If so, this harassment company gets it! DO NOT contact them or give them your personal information. Even after multiple declination’s they continued to harass via robo calls morning, noon and night. Not to mention, they lure you in with so called savings but it’s all hype and gimmicks. DON’T DO IT!!!

To update my review… I’VE NOW RECEIVED OVER 60 EMAILS during the past two weeks from Choice Home Warranty with no way of unsubscribing or getting off their mailing list. This is even after calling them multiple times and trying to unsubscribe via their email messages, which they state will take up to 10 business days to process. This is unbelievable. I’ll see what my next steps are moving forward as this is certainly an invasion of privacy and exploits my right to be left alone.
As I mentioned previously STAY AWAY, STAY VERY FAR AWAY from CHW. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES provide them with any of your contact information whatsoever. I’m lucky they don’t have my phone number because from what I’ve read on other reviews, they will call you non-​stop day or night soliciting their services.

I would give them zero stars if that were an option. This is a totally dishonest business. Cancel your contract if you have one.
Choice refused to pay a claim for us on an item plainly covered by their contract language. Customer’s have no leverage in the event of a claim dispute due to the contract’s requirement to use binding arbitration in the State of New Jersey. The contract caps any award at a maximum of $ 1,500 in out of pocket expenses (excluding any attorney’s fees). Good luck participating in binding arbitration in New Jersey if you live in another state for less than $ 1,500.
Choice writes their contracts well. It allows them to collect premiums without ever having to cover a claim if they simple wish not to cover it. If they do, customers have no recourse whatsoever.

Great service from CHW so far. I’ve had my warranty since Oct.
Had my first issue 2 weeks later, no issues with the claim.

I am a contractor. I am still owed money from this company. Every time I contact hem they say that someone will get back to me. Never happens. So may bad reviews. This company has a lawsuit filed by the state of New Jersey. Imagine that!!!
The sooner that are out of business, the better.

I got an email from this company and call them back. Right away Matthew wanted my credit card number. I said I don’t give that out until I know all the facts he immediately began screaming at me that I wasted 15 minutes of his time and wanted to know why I was such a rude person. I hung up the phone he has now called back no less than 8 times in a row where I finally had to block the number. He completely lost it when I wouldn’t give him my credit card number. Be afraid be very afraid.

Terrible coverage and terrible company. Do not buy their product.

After our last complaint, we were contacted by Kelley C, Owner, and told they would correct our prorated refund. This did happen, but this is not the reason for our complaint. Our complaint is that they still have not reimbursed us for the legitimate repair of $ 1,952 for the repaired condenser. This A/​C unit had just been repaired within the previous 6 months, was well maintained according to both repair persons who inspected it, and we met the requirements of our warranty. Once again I was promised resolution, and once again those promises have not been kept. Please do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this deceitful company as possible. Your hard earned money is better spent elsewhere. Do your research and find a better option. Choice could care less about customer service and more about pocketing the money.

I cannot in good conscience keep my review at 3 stars after TWO, yes 2, bad experiences attempting to file claims with this company. Save yourself the headache and money of dealing with Choice.
Willful omission of a material fact is at a minimum extremely unethical but more likely, it is illegal. The sales representatives for Choice are willingly omitting material facts (aka the countless exclusions on their policies) when trying to make a sale. They do NOT provide any detailed contract or written document stating exclusions PRIOR to payment.
When you insist on getting a written contract or list of the coverage your policy includes prior to making payment, the sales representative will simply send an e-​mail outlining the «Total Systems plan which covers all major systems and appliances in your property including…» and go on to list what is covered without even a single line that may say something as simple as «Exclusions apply, please ask your sales rep for a detailed list.»
From my understanding of consumer protection laws, the willful use, in any oral or written representation, of exaggeration, falsehood, innuendo OR AMBIGUITY as to a material fact; and/​or the WILLFUL FAILURE TO STATE A MATERIAL FACT, or the willful concealment, suppression or omission of a material fact is a violation but I’m not a lawyer so I can’t say with 100% certainty…
Worse yet, when you bring this point up to them – they do agree to a full refund of your premium (cheaper than a law suit I supposed) but essentially the Release Agreement you must sign in order to get your refund asks you to willfully omit material fact and essentially perjure yourself since you cannot make any statements that criticizes their company in any way to anyone, including clients. Not defaming or making exaggerated or false statements is totally understandable but not being able to simply relay facts or events that actually occurred? Obviously they have something to hide. As a licensed agent, I know that I cannot withhold material facts ever so if a client asks if I ever had an experience with X company, I cannot LIE to them or I would be held liable and willingly ommitting my own experience is definitely withholding material facts.

I was searching for a home warranty that would cover all my appliances and home systems (heat, a/​c etc). After having this coverage for three months, I submitted a service call for three issues that arose during the holidays. At first it started out being great until it was time for the technicians to show up. First, they sent the technician that was going to service two of the appliances, two service calls for two service fees. This was corrected after I called them three times. They finally sent the corrected service order out which caused the scheduling of that tech to postpone his visit for the next day. He came and diagnosed the problems and then had to leave because he had to submit the issues for approval which took another day. He subsequently acquired the parts and made the repairs. As for the Heating tech, well he had to get one approval to install a part to get the system operating before he could diagnose the problem. That took the whole first day although he was scheduled for a 9 am-​12 noon window. There was no call to update us on the status of the approval or if the tech was going to return that day so I called and found out that the approval was not done that day. Anyway, somehow the next day it was apparently mysteriously done and after installing the part, found the issue with the heating system which would cost approximately $ 480 to repair. Although this was needed to get the system operating on a day when it was 34 degrees F, and yes you guessed it, he had to submit the request for approval again, only this time it was denied because apparently a valve critical to the operation of the system would NOT be covered and they were very happy to let me know that. Don’t expect any sympathy from the agents, supervisors or managers either. The following is what is written in their Warranty Agreement regarding your heating system;
5. HEATING SYSTEM OR BUILT-​IN WALL UNIT
NOTE: Main source of heat to home not to exceed 5 (five) ton capacity and designed for residential use. INCLUDED: All components and parts necessary for the operation of the heating system.
Well, if it’s a valve, don’t assume it is necessary for the operation of your heating system because they don’t think it is. So basically, I’m going to have to find almost the same amount of $$ to repair the system that it would cost in a yearly coverage. I use the word «coverage» loosely. This is not something that would be disclosed up front to someone purchasing their coverage. The details are vague as to what is critical and what’s not. Now as far as I’m concerned, the reason I’d purchase coverage for my home systems is so I won’t have to come up with a lot of money when the need arises for a repair. Therefore I’d stay away from a company and minimal coverage like this. Needless to say, I promptly cancelled that coverage.

I called in to let them know iwas having problems with my washing machine and they sent this company out that tried to fix it but did not complete it (ithought the guy was coming back with a part) but never returned. I called choice to let them know what had happened they set me up with a company that brought the part and fixed it same day. I am very happy with the way every thing was handled.

My hot water tank stopped working and I put in an online claim with Choice Home Warranty and was in touch with a technician and return call quickly. This is my third year with Choice and the piece of mind knowing my major household items are covered is great! The price for a year coverage is cheap!!!

Claims department works fast to get a technician to your house. They follow up to ensure the job was done correctly and we are satisfied with the work.

Excellent service. Our refrigerator went out. When we discovered it upon returning home after most of a day away. I contacted Choice Home Warranty and was assigned a claim number immediately. The very next morning I was contacted with a service provider phone number. I called and the technician came the same afternoon and repaired our refrigerator. Very fast service, excellent communication with both Choice Home Warranty and the service provider. The amount I pay annually for my coverage is far less than paying for the service call, parts and the repair work, or a new appliance. Thank you Choice!

Well, I had an intermittent furnace problem, I filed a claim and I got contacted by a technician. The technician came and checked the system and jumped some wires, but the furnace was working and I had to pay the service fee. Two months later, the same problem came back, I filed another claim, the same technician came back again but this time he adjusted the gas pressure switch and the furnace worked and I had to pay another service fee since the first claim was closed. After two weeks from the second technician visit, the problem still exist, this time I called the insurance and they sent the tech and he changed the furnace board with a brand new one, with a right away approval from the insurance.
I think it is my luck to have an intermittent problem and as mechanic I know these types of problem. But I was happy with the insurance when they approved changing the circuit board ($ 350 worth job) right away. I have had experiences long time ago with other insurance companies, they usually will seek a second opinion for any job costs more than $ 150. Based on my experience I recommend Choice Home Warranty.

Filed a claim for dishwasher repair: Samsung. Tech came out on time and repaired the unit.

First of all, the sales center needs to get rid of the sales director, sales managers and all their sales associates. The first guy that called me was rude, unprofessional and lacked the person emotion to make me feel comfortable to buy Choice. They are the voice of the company and when he hangs up saying ‘whatever’ when I told him I do not like all the limited verbiage in his plan and I will not be going with Choice, please don’t contact me again. 2^nd, the second guy who called me was just as rude as the first after I kindly asked him to remove me from his CRM and just hung up. 3^rd, I wrote two emails and they have gone unaddressed. I see that they only write back if you write a public review.
With that being said, I will never work and you should never work with Choice because they lack professionalism and has an internal systematic problem from the top down. You are as only as good as your leaders.

Just got a call from choice account manager name Daryl, saying he will pay us only if we will remove the negative reviews.
We asked for a copy of the check and to be sure we will get paid. How ever Daryl cursed me on the phone said he will sue our company and hang up.

I have now been denied a second claim by Choice home warranty within two months. This time they have denied the replacement of a heating furnace due to pre existing conditions for invalid reasons in contradiction with the findings and recommendations by their technician. I have requested the proper paperwork from the State attorney general consumer protection unit to further pursue this matter. I also am in the process of submitting complaints with the BBB and consumer affairs. I am currently researching litigation firms that deal with this sort of thing. I will be updating my review with detailed information on this paticular situation, and posting helpful information for people going through non ligitimate claim denials as I am.

The ease of doing the claim online to the appointment time and follow up was on point. NU air came by and fixed my stove the same day.
So far very happy with this warranty service.

Paid into choice home warranty, had a washing machine
Issue called in and a thug from Young’s appliances in Fayetteville, nc came out. This individual looked like he was fresh out of a drive by or ganster rap video. He was so sketchy that, I ask for I. D before entering my home. My neighbors came to check on me because the car he was driving was one of those Urban «Donks». This young man had very little to no knowledge of what was going on with my machine. He took my $ 60.0 and according to CHW made false statements about the condition of my machine. Canceled CHW and they refused to reimburse the money that I paid to them. It’s a total scam.

This company was horrible to work with. My family moved from New Jersey to an older house in Florida, so we bought an extra warranty on the pool, plumbing, electrical, and appliances in the new house. One week after moving, the pool pump started leaking. Choice Home Warranty told us that they would get somebody in to look at the pool pump by the next day. Nobody ever showed up. After calling them for two weeks straight, they sent somebody to our house (Two weeks after we originally called them and nobody showed up) to look at the issue. The repairman told us that we had an old pool pump and needed a new one, but Choice Home Warranty would not cover it. If it was a new pump, we wouldn’t have needed their services on the pool. After going back and forth with them for another three days, they said that they would get somebody to change one specific part on the pump (but not replace the whole thing). One week after the part was replaced, there was another leak in the pump, and they refused to fix it.
I decided to cancel the service because it was a waste of money. They did not help me solve any of the issues that I had, and it was a huge hassle to even get in contact with this company. They want to charge a cancellation fee, after they have done basically nothing for us. We originally paid for 5 years up front. In addition to them charging the cancellation fee for their horrible service, they are not returning the money for them «fixing» the pool pump. These people are crooks!

Makes me feel not isolated as I read the poor reviews. I too was hounded about purchasing a 3 year contract and pay in advance. I took the bait on my second home in Florida as I’m rarely there and would probably rent out so wanted to cover my bases in that event. 7 months after signing, I discover one of my two wall ovens not working. I’m dealing with high end Miele Appliances. The tech came out for an asessment CHW only agreed to replace the oven for an insulting fraction of money. They will not repair it nor replace it as agreed. Looks like I will be canceling this contract and taking it to the Attorney Generals office for review.
BTW…I had American Home Shield years ago and NEvEr had any issues! Not sure why I fell off track and went with Choice.

We decided to purchase a home warranty after buying our first home earlier this year. We decided to go with Choice.
On Sunday our garbage disposal decided to quit working midway though doing the dishes. I called the claim in, was assigned a technician, and had a new garbage disposal by 10:30 am on Tuesday.
Simple process and pleased with the turnaround time.
