No air conditioning on Saturday! Assuming it will be worse today with temps in the 90s and heat index in upper 90s. Most people were sitting outside as a result despite the high humidity. The warmth inside made the evening much less pleasurable. Otherwise, the rating would have been much higher. Enjoyed my huge salad but my friend advised me to pass on the the French Onion soup she had. Pastries and desserts, of course, superb.(Regarding the rating below that mentions staff morale: while I had no problem with them at all, I have to back their comment up as I know someone whose daughter worked here for a time and reported on the difficulties in working with the owner.)

Oh, Patrick! What has happened to your formerly enjoyable café? Your staff is obviously very unhappy and the food has suffered as a result of the poor staff morale. We visited in the last week for dinner after making a reservation on Open Table. We were greeted by an argumentative host who after some discussion on where we were seated, insisted we vacate the spot for another party who like us, had made a reservation. This gentleman who is the evening host needs to be properly schooled on politeness and courtesy to customers. The food was meh and the wait staff who brought the food to our table almost threw it at us. Bad day perhaps? We will take our business elsewhere next time as this was not an isolated incident. Very sad for a once great little gem of a café.

I can’t comment on the pastries as the party I was with is gluten-free. But this location has a filter set as a gluten-free bakery. And it is not. We specifically selected this place after searching for a gluten free bakery so having two pastries items that qualify was disappointing. We are visiting from out of town and aren’t familiar with the area so we stayed. We ordered eggs since we were here and they were fine. But if you are looking for gluten free bakery – this is not your place.

HOWISTHISPLACENOTMOREFAMOUSORHAVE I BEENLOCKEDAWAYINANASIANBUBBLE? Had their Sara Cake… Which in short is just… Genache-y goodness. The dark chocolate, pistachio macaroons and pistachio ganache sort of make the cake«unforgettable.» Similar offerings to Patisserie 46 but the taste is «different» for a lack of a better word. I think their opera cake was nothing to go ballistic over but that Sara Cake… dear lord in the mighty words of Uncle Jessie«Have mercy.» Food is solid too, their greens are fresh on their salad and their sandwiches and items are inventive. The california chicken club is BOMB. A little pricey on the cake for its size but didn’t regret it one bit. One cannot buy happiness but I can sure as hell try sometimes :).

I have visited this restaurant twice to meet a friend for coffee. The atmosphere was pleasant. The line up of desserts and pastries is inspiring and makes for a great trip to the counter. The staff patiently explained them to me and made recommendations about how to serve a larger portion.

We just did take away pastry. They were all very good. I have to agree with many of the reviews that mentioned sub-par service. The person who put together and rang up our order could barely contain her disgust of having to work. This was at about 4:00 on a Saturday. I hope she was at the end of her day and just tired.

This place has been on my to try list for a while. I finally stopped by for dinner. Perhaps my expectations were too high. I ordered the beef burgundy. It was just okay. It was watery and not at all flavorful. The best part of the meal was the wine.

What do you do when your sixth grade daughter won’t talk to you? You buy her breakfast and take away her phone! She was captivated by a raspberry macaroon but there is no picture of it because it did not last long, but it looked delicious(as did all the lovely pastries) My Eggs Benedict was very good and her sandwich looked good too. $ 27 for breakfast for two is not something one does every day but that macaroon provided a happy subject for mother and daughter to talk about.

Cute little place with friendly service. We came here for Sunday dinner and it was busy. They recommend making reservations and I agree. I would say this place is not fancy but I wouldn’t wear workout clothes to eat there either. Its located in the Southdale Square strip mall which has plenty of parking, PLENTY. As you walk in, there’s the cute little bakery to the right and a small seating area to the left for diners. We started off with drinks. Well, I stuck to water while the mister ordered a blood orange french lemonade. It was good. It definitely did not taste like lemonade but more like pop because of the carbonation. It was still good though since it did quench my thirst with one sip =P. Now on to the food. We started with Escargot in Garlic Butter. It was good and they were huge, but no real oomph to the flavor other than just garlic and butter. I’d still order it again only cause I love escargot. We also ordered the Sea scallops. This was my favorite. Two huge seared scallops on potato cakes with crab meat. The potato cakes tasted just like crab cakes and it was also served with fennel salad which was also very refreshing. The mister ordered the Rack of Lamb with a side of Cauliflower gratin. He loved everything about the lamb. I, however, did not. The lamb was cooked medium well like he wanted which was really good, but it had such a strong seasoning that it took away the taste of the lamb meat. They may of had some type of horseradish seasoning in it also and I’m not a huge fan of horseradish. I definitely felt the tingle in my nose. The cauliflower gratin wasn’t the greatest either. The boxed gratin you find at grocery stores are much better, in my opinion. I ordered the Duck A L’Orange served with a caramel risotto. I was very disappointed. I really enjoyed the duck breast but nothing else. I did not like the risotto and that was my first time having risotto so I cant really say anything else about it. We were too stuffed for dessert but their selection was huge! Would I go back? Definitely. It would just be for appetizers and desserts though. Maybe if I’m really hungry, I’ll try their other entrees.

A week or two before this last Christmas holiday, I bought one of their regular-sized Buche de Noël cakes to bring to my niece’s house for a special treat. It was nicely decorated and tasted great! Everyone, including young children, really enjoyed it.

Cute French bakery and Café. The display looks delicious with many pastries. Also came for a late lunch on a Monday which was crowded not to mention lunch on a Saturday was packed! I had: Chicken with feta and tomato quiche and roast beef sandwich. Both were good, I wish there was a little more roast beef. Feullantine praline chocolate cake — good but too rich and chocolaty for me. Could use more of the praline taste. There was a crunch at the bottom that really added to the flavor and texture of the cake, my favorite part lol. I need to try the Sarah cake next time which everyone raves about. I’d come again if I was feeling like a french café day.

My, my, my! Just walking in and witnessing all the magnificent desserts on display, coupled with the beautiful layout of the café, I was slightly taken aback. I was afraid that there would be no way the food would be able to compare to the sheer beauty of the place. Oh how wrong I was! The quiche here is fantastic, tira misu was great, and the cheesecake, man, the cheesecake! I took one bite of the small single sized cheesecake and thought to myself, «there is absolutely no way this cheesecake can be better», then I took another bite, only to find rasberry filing in the cheesecake! Needless to say, you need to get to Patrick’s before I buy out all the cheesecake!

I went to Patrick’s for dinner, so I have not tried any of their breakfast food. There was a wide selection of food for a small restaurant. The wait staff was friendly and professional. Although not very fancy, the restaurant rises well above what one would anticipate for its strip mall location. It might be served well by trying to get a stand alone location. I ordered the steak burger(on a baguette) which came with fries. It was phenomenal. We were served a loaf of baguette and bruschetta prior to the meal and given chocolate almond drops(If that is what you call them… I’m allergic to almonds anyway) after the meal. My wife and I ordered the Sarah for dessert, and I would say Patrick’s desserts are on par with Café Latté — aka well worth your money. I will definitely be coming back.

My husband and I went to Patrick’s tonight for the first time on the spur of the moment. At first glance, Patrick’s seems a little sketchy given its location in a strip mall. But I will sing Patrick’s praises again and again and again! We made a reservation on open table in advance because we hate waiting in line. When we arrived they had a reserved sign on our table — they obviously were expecting us! The host waited until we had our chairs pulled out, coats off, and were settled in to offer our menus. The wait staff was all dressed very professionally in white collared shirts. The menu offers a great variety and at first glance may seem pricey(menu items included mussels, sea bass, and duck). We were offered our own baguette loaf and chef-prepared bruschetta(which was free for every patron). My husband and I opted for the cheaper menu options — the barbeque brisket sandwich and the peppercorn steak sandwich, which were both accompanied by fries. P-H-E-N-O-M-E-N-A-L!!! Absolutely. Both sandwiches had sauces that were out of this world. Best sandwich I have ever had. And the fries were simple but good –not too greasy. Both of us had half our meal left to box and take home. You can’t always order the cheapest thing on the menu and expect it to still be great, but this was! In a display case along the side of the restaurant are amazing looking desserts and pastries, which we both drooled over. We finally decided on the Sarah Cake. Unbelievable! Absolutely phenomenal! So rich and so enjoyable! We shared the cake between the two of us and it was plenty at the small cost of $ 4.95! Then, our waitress brought over another free dessert– chocolate covered almond clusters. Also great! In total, our bill was $ 37 with tip! I kid you not, this was probably one of the best meals/restaurant experiences I have ever had! Not only was the food, dessert, and staff amazing, but the white tablecloths, candles with real flames, and real flowers that accompanied each table made this a top notch experience. And don’t forget the jazz music playing in the background! Don’t judge a book by its cover! If you do, you may miss this fantastic establishment!!! This is my new favorite place!

It’s a bakery and they have all kinds of stuff. The food is a lil pricey and if you go by the staff favorites you may be disappointed as there is a lot to choose from and you feel like you are Not getting the best from the selection. The place is small and good for a hangout but the prices are a lil high. Oh well the wife loves it and that’s good enough for me.

Very delicious perfect entres, salads and soups. Wonderful croissants Danishes. Only problem we have is the pastry. Minimal use of sweet cream butter. Flavorings decent not outstanding. Our top bakery is now under new ownership in Rochester — Daube’s Bakery.

Convenient location for yummy food! French onion soup, quiche, and salads that are delectable. Wait til you see the bakery items on display — SO beautiful! Napoleons, frosted cookies and croissants… all fresh and reasonably priced. This place always appears clean and the staff appear friendly and efficient. Really great place.

We had the Beef Bourguignon and Duck à L’Orange for dinner. First was a complimentary tasting of mushroom gruyère, the mushrooms were cooked perfectly, not rubbery at all and gently firm, and all had very amazing flavor, but it was cold(not sure if it was supposed to be). I was happy to find haricots verts in my side salad. The proteins were perfect. The duck(medium rare) had great soft texture with slight pink, the best I’ve ever had, and the beef of the stew melted in my mouth. Both had really great flavors. The carbs left some to be desired. The walnuts in the risotto weren’t finely chopped enough for me, and their woody/earthy flavor did not pair well with the sweetly delicious orange sauce. Also some rice was undercooked or had been sitting too long and was crispy in the wrong places, but my partner did like it. Good baguettes. For dessert we had the Sarah cake. I really did love the sweet/salty crunch of the crushed nuts on the outside, that complimented the rich, yet fluffed, chocolate mousse. The pistachio flavor was lost with all the chocolate, when I sampled pistachio layer it was good, but the flavor did not come through at all with the whole. Overall dinner was very good for $ 64 incl. tip, I’ll definitely be back

Patrick’s served us a double espresso in a large mug rather than in an espresso cup. This may seem snotty to note, but since I didn’t want to slam the drink, it was impossible to enjoy more than one sip before the inch of liquid in the bottom of the bowl was cold. Bakeries should have a good coffee game & Patrick’s certainly does not.

I stopped here on a whim in between getting my oil change and an interview. I had time for a quick bite and this place fit the bill. I saw the Bouch Ala Reine, which was a puff pastry bowl of some sort cradling a mixture of creamy chicken and mushroom. It was sitting in the bakery case next to the other premade goodies, but when you order it for here they put it back in the oven for a quick warm up. They served it to me at the table with a side salad which was very nice. Can’t wait to come back and try all the other delicious looking things.

I find that the majority of macarons avaliable in the area are just so so or really bad. But here I found a top notch raspberry macaron. Perfect texture and incredible raspberry jam filling. These cookies are heavenly and the quality and flavor match their extra large size. And the price is so reasonable. 1 Patrick’s = 3 normally sized macarons for close to the same price! I’m such a fan! We had lunch brought in for a work meeting and ordered a variety of beautifully crafted deserts/pastries and everyone raved about how good everything tasted. What I got to try was amazing! I would definitely recommend serving Patrick’s treats for any special event! Sure to impress!

Macarons. This is THE place for them. Raspberry flavor tops the chocolate, but not by much. Each macaron is good for two or three bites. I’ve not had any better macaron(and I thought that the macarons at Cupcake in St. Paul were great, but what did I know… they were my first). It’s highly likely that Patrick’s will be my last place around town to enjoy outstanding macarons.

Wow this place was really good! When I drove up I had low expectations. The restaurant is in a strip mall, in-between a tanning salon and a nail salon. And immediately next to an establishment called«Heartbreakers», I’m not sure what that is andI was afraid to look. Anyway back to Patrick’s. My omellete was delicious, coffee was delicious, and service was fast and friendly. I’ll definitely go back, and maybe even work up the courage to peek in Patrick’s neighbor, Heartbreakers.

Patrick’s delivers a true Parisian experience from the delightful pastry case full of tantalizing treats and fresh quiche to the attitudes of the wait staff. We took to Patrick’s for a Sunday lunch on their sidewalk patio. Located in a strip mall; they do a nice job giving it a quaint feeling with flower boxes and rod iron furniture. Take note on Sundays they do not serve all things off the lunch menu(i.e. no burgers, hot sandwiches) as they do brunch until 2pm. My husband got Eggs Benedict. Eggs were cooked to perfection with a very«healthy» dose of hollandaise sauce on a home-baked English muffin. He was in heaven. The surprise was in the hash browns topped with a dainty strawberry. The texture and seasoning was top notch. Normally we are crispy hash brown fans, but these were awesome. I went for Patrick’s chopped salad with chicken. What isn’t there to like about green goddess dressing, avocado and blue cheese. The pepper, tomato, corn, banana pepper mixture was unique and a burst of fresh flavors. So big I made two meals out of it. All this to say, the food was divine. In love! Now for the less fun part of our French experience … The wait staff. The attitudes we encountered were cold, snotty and uncaring. After my husband had received and eaten almost his whole meal(and the three tables that sat after us got their food), I kindly enquired if my salad was coming. I got a swift«I don’t know. I’ll see.» 10 minutes later I got my salad dropped down, no apology and a cold«we have a new chef». Good thing the food made up for it!

I have only eaten here once so I can’t say much about the menu, other than it’s large and looks good. I anticipate the desserts being really good from what I had seen at the counter. I had the mozzarella and tomato sandwhich which hit the spot. I’ll have to come back to try those desserts and other stuff.

It’s very difficult for me to write a review for this point because me eyes are full of tears at the beauty of the dessert case. I’ve never eaten off of the menu here as it is my dessert destination. I feel like those that create these beautiful things are blessed by the hand of God. If you’ve never been here you need to stop whatever you’re doing and go, everything is beautiful and amazing. Stopped in at Patrick’s for a quick bite while I was down near Southdale on Friday. I had been to the Patricks for desserts in Maple Grove and was less than impressed, so I went in with low expectations here. This location is in a strip mall so parking is ok, just a bastard given so many other stores people are there for. It’s a location where you order at the counter, get a number, and pop a squat waiting with self serve water. I opt for the turkey sandwich and the woman goes with the chicken ranch wrap. Both come with a side salad of mixed greens and arugula. Decent wait for the food, around 10 – 15 minutes. Given though with it being a little afternoon and it in the height of rush lunch time. Turkey sandwich: Bacon cheese break with cranberry relish, sliced turkey, Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato. Bun was solid, can’t overly remember what it was. But, it did the job. Everything was ok. Nothing really jumped out at me, and I definitely couldn’t taste the cran-relish enough to give me the sweet flavor I was hoping for. The goo’ed up cheese was the dominant flavor. Not bad, but, definitely over powered absolutely everything. Bacon provided a hint of salt in there, but, nothing much. A total meh to me. The chicken ranch wrap was really good though. I liked the creamy ranch a lot and it really set off the chicken and everything else. Veggies were also nice and fresh in there so the tomatoes had some snap, and the lettuce wasn’t a soggy mess. Chicken also had a good flavor and wasn’t plentiful. Very happy I got to eat half of this. Side salad was solid to get over fries. All in all, A-Ok if I’m in the area and want something light and relatively fast that isn’t fast food or food court chow.

I have to add Patricks to my list of very good bakeries we have in the cities. The display case is long and filled with all sorts of wondrous treats to eat. You can choose from classic danishes to special individual desserts perfect for a special anniversary/birthday/notable event meal at home. Patricks danish is more like you would find in a fine French bakery, unlike the danish at Rustica which has a more casual nature to it. I would have to give the nod to Rustica on this as their danish is pretty much heaven as far as I am concerned but Patricks is certainly good as well. I think the lemon filling at Rustica is more lemon forward which is something I love. There is also a full menu for lunch and dinner. I’m not crazy about that parking lot as it is filled with drivers with slow reflexes. We are so lucky to have so many good bakeries around town.

What an adorable, yummy find in Maple Grove! And French too! Neat atmosphere. Bar/Bakery? Literally alcohol on one wall and pastries in the case. What a perfect place! :) The rest of the décor is like a French Café. Girlfriend and I shared the crab cake app and the Caesar salad with salmon. We enjoyed both. More on the menu I’d like to try.
