Food is OK. I mostly go there as a last resort during my lunch hour. Most of the staff is friendly, but there are two employees that typically work the salad or sandwich line that are consistently rude to customers. Today one of them had a melt down because 4 people were in his line one hour before they closed. I think this will be my last time…

As much as I have always enjoyed taking friends to this café at the beautiful Centennial Lakes Park, today was a disappointment. The food was excellent as usual but the young man who prepared our sandwiches was not polite and actually condescending toward my guest, an attractive Somali woman. Granted, we are not one of the normal workforce that frequents this establishment and may take a little longer to make a selection that is prepared as we wait, but that is no excuse for poor service and rude behavior.

Remember your elementary school cafeteria? Ok, now take it, and everyone in it, and flash forward 20 years into the future. The food is better, but you still have the same grumpy lunch lady putting food on your plate. McKenna’s is quick cafeteria style food for the hundreds of office workers scattered around in the tower complexes nearby. It’s cheap($ 5 – 7) and you can get out in 5 minutes. Basic options, like sandwiches, soups, wraps, salads, and burgers.
