Avex Kitchen Design & Installation

We recently contracted Kristiaan with Avex Design to complete some updates to our Kitchen and a few other areas in our home, and I cannot express how incredibly pleased and impressed we are with his work. He was able to get us scheduled right away, he was fast, but very detail oriented with his work, he was a pleasure to work with and very reasonably priced. He executed our design ideas perfectly, and really went the extra mile to make sure that everything was done exactly how we wanted. The end result was not only right in line with what we wanted, but SO much more than I could have imagined. His extra touches and effort really perfected the space and project. He is a one stop shop for all needs in design, layout and installation. I will be recommending him to anyone and everyone that needs work done in their kitchen or related projects.

We found Kristiaan on Unilocal and had him install our IKEA kitchen cabinets. He is FAST, EFFICIENT, and knows IKEA’s product line very well. If there was an IKEA kitchen installation competition, this guy would take gold. When it comes to remodeling, time is money and Kristiaan will get it done in the least amount of time with high precision. I’m writing this review 3 months after the remodel, and no issues with his work. He worked really well not only with us, but with our GC and appliance installers.

I cannot express enough gratitude here for Kristiaan’s involvement in our guesthouse build. I found AVEX through a local IKEA designer who was too busy to work with us. He assured me that Kristiaan would be willing to travel from Orange County to San Diego, and surprisingly he was; with very little compensation. We started design work corresponding through email, text and lengthy phone calls. Kristiaan is one of those people who makes you feel completely heard with his calm and understanding demeanor. We were working with an incredibly awkward, tiny space and his design of our bathroom, laundry center and kitchen was brilliant and specific. I actually didn’t meet Kristiaan face to face for months, and was not at all surprised at what a pleasure he is to work with in person. I was beyond excited when he was again willing to do the install. He stayed with a friend in the area while working (even though his wife was pregnant at the time)! Kristiaan worked alongside other contractors respectfully and supported me through a nightmarish situation with our countertop installer. Kristiaan is a gentleman, a gifted designer, and true artisan.

Kristiaan installed our kitchen cabinets and did a great job. He is on schedule, detailed oriented and will work with you to make sure you are 100% satisfied. He came up with creative solution and was able to modify some cabinets to fit our space. After the installation we had a minor issue with one of the cabinets and he promptly came back and fix it. We highly recommend him.

Avex Design LA recently completed a full kitchen and two bathroom cabinets install at my home. I couldn’t be more pleased with the service and quality work provided by Kristiaan and his crew on every aspect of the cabinet process from beginning to end. He did everything: design, layout, helping with cabinet decisions and offering opinions, install, and provided assistance on how to navigate thru the IKEA purchase and returns process.
I found Avex Design LA thru a quick Google search. A phone call later, and I met Kristiaan at the house and we began the process. I can’t say enough good things about Kristiaan and Avex Design. The design and purchase process went very smoothly even though we had to work thru IKEA’s transition from their old AKURUM line to their new SEKTION line. My 60 yr. old house has very few plumb and square walls, ceilings and floors, but Kristiaan’s years of IKEA install experience made short work of those deficiencies. He’s patient, detail-​oriented, and meticulous. He and his crew showed up when they said they would, they worked fast, they cleaned up when they were done, and they were always polite, respectful and trustworthy. And my dog liked them too, which says a lot because he’s pretty critical of most people.
Regarding the IKEA SEKTION components, I had always been skeptical of the big flat IKEA boxes, and I had my doubts on the quality of some of their furniture stuff I’ve bought and assembled in the past. However, the IKEA Kitchen changed everything. Before going with the IKEA cabinets, I looked at cabinets from several other builder supply sources in the LA and Santa Ana areas, and was pretty much appalled by the lack of quality and warranty/​after-​market service from all of them, and at my contractors for recommending them. Against several contractors’ advice, I looked at the IKEA Kitchen and its endless supply of options, and was immediately sold on the product. I went with their high-​end Ringhult doors and fronts. Later during the install, I was happy to see «Made in USA» and «Made in Netherlands» on many of the components. It’s most definitely not cheap flip-​quality garbage. It is quality stuff and it fits right in with my Cambria Whitney quartz counters, smoked glass tile backsplash, DACOR & Bosch appliances, KWC Systema faucet. I highly recommend Kristiaan and Avex Design LA to anyone considering an IKEA Kitchen or bathroom remodel here in the Los Angeles area.

Just the best!!! Assembled and installed 27 cabinets for our kitchen and designed/​measured too. Detail oriented, responsible, conscientious, honest, hard working, good ideas, problem solver, dedicated!!! Although I would hate to do another remodel (exhausting), I would only use Kristiaan!!!

We found Avex Designs and Kristiaan from a simple google search for Ikea cabinet certified installers. Bottom line, he was amazing. Out of all the different companies and people that we came in contact with during our kitchen remodel, he was by far the best. His prices are very reasonable, and his work is outstanding. We dealt the ikea consultant that came to our home to do the initial kitchen plan and measurements. We also had to find and hire: the plumbers, electrician, counter top guys, backsplash, and finally cabinet people (Kristiaan/​Avex). Kristiaan was by far the best. He’s easy to talk to, has great problem solving ideas, excellent attention to detail, and I trust him in my home alone. I hate to speak poorly of the industry, but many times you get the feeling that ‘they’ are looking to do the least amount of work for the most amount of money. Kristiann is the complete opposite. He did the work as though as he’d be back to do other work for me. Because of that, I will definitely be calling him back when it’s time to start my bathrooms and closets. If all the other guys I had to use for the remodel were like Kristiann, I would have gone through a lot less stress, been happier during the process, and have more money in pocket. If you’ve found Kristiann, consider yourself lucky.

I called Kristiaan in when nothing was going right with my Ikea kitchen and like a superhero he saved the day! His design ideas are great and right on, in fact I moved my whole kitchen around on his advice and it was the best thing I ever did. He works quickly, professionally and sticks to a schedule.
He invents all these types of modifications on the Ikea kitchens that Ikea does not even tell you about, so your kitchen looks like it was a custom Italian kitchen for $ 60,000. when you only paid a couple thousand. I got two extra drawers under my cooktop that I would not have had, but for Kristiaan coming up with an idea!
He is on time, organized, clean, friendly and is willing to come back and move the height of a shelf just to get the olive oil bottles in right!
His prices are fantastic and so is his customer service. If you live in the South Bay or anywhere nearby, he is the ONLY one to use.

Kristiaan is obviously an expert in the product, in fact, much more so than the Ikea employees that pushed us toward a very clunky initial layout. Kristiaan gave useful feedback and reconfigured things in a way that gave us a lot more cabinet (storage) space in a kitchen where space in general is at a premium. The price seemed very reasonable, and he was friendly and flexible throughout.
In short, Kristiaan did everything he said he would and then some.

Kristian did an amazing job with our kitchen for our office. From design, installation and follow through he was 100% on time, on budget, and professional. He was organized, clean, friendly and precise. He was suggestive to great ideas on the design in maximizing our space and now it looks and works amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend him for any project.
