Lazy K Ranch Bed and Breakfast

I want to say I spent, oh, ten hours scouring the internet, looking for a decent place to get hitched. In case ya hadn’t noticed, Albuquerque isn’t the most, um, serene of cities; some areas of the north valley and foothills offer delightful scenery, but most of this place, let’s face it: dry, dirty, treeless. The few decent properties around town (botanical gardens, Casa Rondena, El Pinto) will cost you massively and so will an escape to Santa Fe. But don’t forget, Burqueño, there are some pretty fantastic mountains just east of us. I was thrilled when I came across Lazy K Ranch.
I wish I could pen a more recent review but I’m not going through that whole marriage ordeal again, ever, so this’ll have to do. Lazy K Ranch is a property at the edge of the Edgewood woods (bah dum bum) before the mountains fall to Moriarty. There are two buildings on the property: a main house (the owners live on the top floor, the bottom is open to lodging) and a separate full cabin that sleeps 4 – 6. They own horses, it’s downright country, and the price is exceptionally reasonable. Oh, and they do weddings. We brought out 175 people, had a lovely and sometimes rollicking party afterwards, and people are still talking about it, to this day.
We chose to stay two nights and house the ‘rents in the cabin both nights. The package was really affordable. And since they don’t have any special contracts with caterers or liquor reps, you won’t pay any excessive costs and you can feed the masses what you wish. We had one complaint: during the main festivities several guests told us that one of the owners, the woman, had been downright rude when they unknowingly entered the main house to use the bathroom. You have been warned. This is a terrific property for a wedding, and as of this writing very few people know it exists.
