Ugh. This place has gone way downhill these last two months. I don’t know if they changed management or what happened but it’s slowly becoming the new Friendlys in Edgewood with their customer service. When they first opened, it was booming. Waitresses were super friendly and attentive. I loved it here. But lately, my last 3 visits have just been a disaster. First off the staff. The visits I had the restaurant was half empty, yet it takes awhile to be seated 0_o? And the last time I literally walked out. Friday night, there were only 3 people eating inside but the hostess was talking to the 3 people in front of us. I had enough time to go to the bathroom and come back and STILL waiting to be seated! Then she sat them and was talking to them, while putting her hair in a ponytail! I said forget it and my family walked out. The time before that the waitress had the nerve to jack up our order and then«remind» me how to tip?! And then some sob story of how someone was sick blah blah blah, totally inappropriate! They’re building a new Ihop in bel air and I might end up driving 15 min away just to get my pancakes, just so I don’t have to deal with this mess

I’ll put it like this –this isn’t a place I’d look forward to coming to. This is a place I’d only go to if I was super hungry. And I wouldn’t be saying, «Such great choices to pick from.» It’s more like, «What can I eat that won’t be TOO bad?» Just a typical IHOP. Back in the day, I remember IHOP’s food being great. They just went downhill, unfortunately.

Pancakes maybe, waffles, no way… I came here with my daughter for breakfast since the Denny’s was being remodeled. She ordered french toast and bacon and I ordered a Belgian waffle. the food came and before the waitress left I simply said, no way. She stopped and looked quizzically at me. I could tell the waffle was wrong. I picked it up and it was limp and greasy and floppy. I pulled a bit off a corner and tasted it. I asked her if it seemed like it was supposed to be. I sent it back and when it came back, it was the same waffle. The cook apparently had just put it back into the waffle maker(remember that corner I broke off and tasted?). Bottom line was we went around a bit more and then I gave up and said I didn’t want it anymore. The manager came over and said she was sorry and that I wouldn’t be charged for the Waffle. HUH? that was it. Happily, the remodel over at Denny’s is complete and this dump will fall off my radar!

Nice and clean. Food was standard fare for IHOP restaurants. Got the healthy spinach, mushroom and Swiss omelette. Husband got the steak and onions with mashed potatoes and corn.

We were so glad to see this location reopen after being closed for 12 years. As expected, the breakfast food is very good. The steak tip and salsa omelet is great. Surprisingly, the other dinner menu items that we have tried were also very good. Be adventurous and take an extra trip to try one of the dinners like the sour beef. I commend the franchise owner for taking the time to hire a very friendly and attentive management staff who take time to visit most tables ensuring that everyone is happy and assisting with clearing empty plates. Kudos !

Military Discount: 10%(on whole check) Alrighty now!!! I am overjoyed at the thought we have another all day long breakfast place to enjoy!!! When I moved here I was so disappointed to see the empty and abandoned traditional A-frame I-Hop building, it stood empty for many many years. But then miraculously about 6 months ago I noticed that the building was being remodeled and getting ready for occupancy. I was so delighted to see that I-Hop was moving back in… Oh Yum!!! I love their pancakes!!! They are so good. Okay so I-Hop is another chain restaurant, but because of what they serve, it is their individual kitchen fast order chefs that either make or break each place. Over cooked or over beaten pancakes are junk, so I am very happy to report this is not the case here!!! I had one of I-Hop’s new Hashbrown Stackers… OMG comfort food heaven right here in Edgewood… it is hard to believe, but it’s true! I ordered the Cheedar Bacon(Yum !!!) Stacker, and asked them to substitute the medium fried egg with Hollendaise sauce with scambled eggs. I added a side order of… you guessed it… B A C O N, OMG!!! Yum YUM Y U M!!! That and a bottomless cup of joe. As a grad student, you know I can appreciate the bottomless cup of Joe, especially when it is good, and it is. The coffee is no Starbucks or Panera’s, but just plain good olé coffee, that has a nice flavor. Oh, and did I mention, it was bottomless too!!! My Short stake(2) of pancakes came out first, pipe’n hot and with a scoop of «REALBUTTER»…(don’t you hate it when someplace places margerine on your food… ewww!). Those pancakes were heavenly, not tough, not chew, tender and yum!!! Real Butter, and some syrup… oh man what nice start! Then my Stacker came out… OMG the BACON(YUM!!!), 4 full slices surrounding this mountain of crispy hashbrown potato, with sliced tomato and melty cheedar cheese and lots of chopped up B A C O N!!! Oh, YES!!! there had to be at least 4 more sliced of that lovely pig all chopped up and scattered all over my cheesy hash browns and then covered with my scrambled eggs(perfectly cooked, tender, not rubbery). Okay, calling all you military guys and gals, please take note, if you ask for a Military Discount, you will be rewarded for your service!!! All told breakfast cost be about $ 11 with my tip for a wonderful waitress, who filled my coffee flask twice(about 36 oz of liquid caffeine). My Hashbrowns were crispy!!! 1 Star My Pancakes & Real Butter were yummy!!! 1 Star My Bacon Cheader Stacker was BACON(YUM !!!) Supreme!!! 1 Star My waitress telling me that Yes Military Discount! 1 Star Four Stars Baby!!!
