Description

Specialties

Located in a genuine Whaling Captain’s house, our history and nautical charm will remind you of a bygone time. We specialize in local seafood, lobsters served ten different ways, and home made comfort food. Enjoy our aged steaks from our open hearth, or a hearty cut of Prime Rib served with Yorkshire Pudding. In the summer, enjoy our lighter fare and lunch from our take-out window.

A family restaurant, the Rigger has been captained by the Rezendes family since 1995 and has reared generations of hungry eaters. Open year round, except for the month of January, the Rigger has been a local favorite for years. Join us today for our off-season specials, our specialty dishes, such as the Double Stuffed Grilled Lobster, or local Bay Scallops – when in season. Check out our Facebook page for up-to-date information.

History

Established in 1970.

Starting as a popular bar in the 1970’s, the Rigger remains in the memories of many locals as they reminisce about Pizza and Roast Beef Sandwiches. In the 1980s, the restaurant was purchased and remodeled into what it is today: a small, quaint open-hearth-restaurant with a feel of yesteryear. In 1995, the restaurant was purchased by its long-time manager and has been serving up the same consistent meals for over 20 years.

Meet the Manager

Dana R.

Manager

Head Chef and son of the owners Tony and Doreen, Dana has been managing the kitchen for over a decade. Serving up local food, with few frills is his specialty. He believes that quality product speaks for itself and enjoys seeing the clientele, with new family members in-tow, return year after year. If you catch Dana in the summer time, you may find him fishing for Striped Bass to put on that evening’s menu, or enjoying other outdoor activities with his family. Included in the photo is Dana’s sister Jenny, Bar Manager and wine specialist, and his parents.
