Matt was recently appointed to Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District; Basin Advisory Council representing the Oconee River Basin.

The Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District works to carry out a central mission — the development of comprehensive regional water resources plans that protect water quality and water supply in and downstream of the region, protect recreational values of the waters in and downstream of the region and minimize potential adverse impacts of development on waters in and downstream of the region.

Matt is also on the Board of Directors and Vice President for the Georgia Onsite Wastewater Association. GOWA is a state-​wide, non profit trade association which represents all those individuals and companies who are engaged in the design, sales, installation, maintenance, service and repair and regulation of individual onsite wastewater treatment systems for residential, commercial, industrial, governmental and institutional customers
