While I agree the art is amazing, after making the drive up the steep incline, there was a sign off to the side that said closed. If it had been across the drive we would not have entered, but as it was off to the side we thought it may have been an oversight, and at minimum needed a place to turn around. After pulling in and trying to figure it out the owner came up and asked rather rudely if we could read. We were interested in purchasing, until then. He then stood and glared at us as we backed up to turn around. After a long ferry ride over, and not many shops open his attitude has soured us on returning to Orcas island. if he did not want visitors he should take down his sign by the road, or maybe put a closed for season sign in front of it instead of being rude to someone willing to drive up to see his art.

Orcas Island is a haven for artists and pottery … so if you go to the San Juan Islands, make sure you stop by his outdoor gallery. It’s a mini-Storm King Gallery.(And if you don’t know what Storm King is … you are also missing something.) He usually has 20 – 25 standing sculptures spread out in a pasture. The prices aren’t that bad for art of this quality and size. But sometimes we just go there for the stroll. Anthony’s work is amazing. He creates this kinetic metal standing and hanging sculptures that move with the wind and are intricate and beautiful. Check out his website.
