I don’t get this place, I gave it 2 stars cuz everyone tells me how good it is, I have been here on numerous occasions and am still lost on any culinary skills the short order cook working the grill has, the pasta is on par with what u get out of a box, and the risotto I had was not remarkable, it was gummy and got stuck in my teeth„ even tried the salmon. Overcooked. The food is fair and is moderately priced, to me it’s just not good, I have dined here about 7 or 8 times and I really don’t wanna go back cuz there dishes need flavor. Yes it’s cute and foo fooey, but it just don’t jump out and say you gotta come back and get me again, you know like a great woman, the bar is very nice and generally attended by well spoken edumacated folks, and yes it looks great, just lacks some real good eats. I must say the gelatos are very good although the portion is about enough to fill an old black plastic film cannister, u remember those things??? The gelatos would be very good after you used all contraband stored in these containers. All in all as always a pleasant experiience, nice folks, average food, maybe.

Had our Christmas Eve meal here. It was ok, but not great by any stretch of the imagination. We were seated in back in a lovely area, and the table setting was great. The pleather upholstered seats were peeling, however. I’d expect not to have a peeling seat in a fine dining establishment, but I digress. The before dinner cocktails were good, and left all satisfied. The bread and olive oil good as well, though the cheese cracker items served with the bread were mediocre. Appetizer was a tomato mozzarella salad. The mozzarella lacked any flavor. The tomato was good. My meal was a ravioli. Again, not great. The beef rib filling had a slightly off-putting taste. Dessert was the highlight. Tiramisu was great, and the coffee excellent. I’d come back, but it would be as a family meal as this was– not a restaurant I’ll be choosing solely for my own satisfaction in the future.

Went here for a birthday dinner. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was also top notch. Would definitely recommend and go back!

Honestly, the reviews of this place had me expecting more. My friend and I had a 5:45 reservation, and we arrived a little bit early. The interior of the restaurant was basically empty, and there were some people sitting outside. The hostess first told us that they«had us sitting outside», and was that ok with us? We declined, mainly because it was very humid outside that night, but I was surprised that with an empty restaurant and a party of two-why would they assume we were going to sit outside? Not a major complaint, but sort of off-putting right away. Then she mentioned there was a regular 2 top table in the main room of the restaurant but«we have that reserved for someone else at 7:15PM». Huh? I guess the message was that we could have the table but on a time limit! We ended up at a bar table, which was fine, but the whole experience didn’t seem to align with the great reviews I had read, and I wasn’t expecting to be at a bar table after making an online reservation several days in advance. I think it’s important to start off at the host stand by giving a welcoming impression. My friend and I split an appetizer called the Scossa Tagliere(prosciutto, cheese, asparagus, scallops, and mushrooms). It was delicious! My friend and I both thought the mushrooms were a highlight– but the mix of appetizers on this plate was extremely well considered, and we both agreed it was a win. We split a tri-color salad(decent) and I had the lobster risotto. I have to say, it was overly soupy and watery, not the right texture. We also split a delicious bottle of red wine. My friend has over 20 years of server experience at high-end Chicago restaurants, and he commented that when 2 different servers poured the wine, the didn’t follow the usual wine service protocol of using a napkin to wipe the mouth of the bottle.

I was really disappointed from start to finish. My reservation was not honored despite my multiple confirmations; we were told the table would be available in 15 minutes but ultimately it took over one hour. All our inconvenience would have been acceptable had the food been exceptional, but it was not. And after all that, the owner never returned to apologize or inquire on our experience.

Scossa is one of our favorite restaurants in Easton. The food and atmosphere are great. I’ve spent many special occasions here and have almost always had great service. I would definitely make a reservation, regardless of the night, as they tend to fill up quickly. Some recommendations: a martini(they have a great list), gnocchi, risotto, and«biscotti and more» for dessert(basically a plate of Italian baked goods, yum).

There are maybe two other restaurants on the Eastern Shore who can come close to matching Scossa’s quality and consistency. The restaurant’s décor and ambience are outstanding — the menu is limited but they do everything well. Dining on the shore is a dicey proposition at best — not so at Scossa. They are masters of consistency and a quality dining experience. No, Scossa is not cheap, nor should it be — if you are looking for a quick fill of spaghetti and meatballs then perhaps the Olive Garden on Route 50 would be more to your liking. Scossa is a dining experience and it is Italian done well. The service is always outstanding and attentive. If you are looking for a great evening out where the food is always consistently outstanding and the service is impeccable, then Scossa is the place. Yes, you will probably need reservations(and that is a good thing). We have been here many times, and this is one of two sure-fire establishments where you can count on a consistently high quality experience.(The other is the Bartlett Pear Inn in case you were wondering.)

I attended a very large family dinner of about 35 people. The service was excellent and the food spectacular. I highly recommend the pork shank, risotto, and gnocchi with red sauce.

I enjoyed this restaurant immensely. I was in Easton for a one day trip to visit relatives and found the restaurant on Unilocal. The food was great, the lighting was soft and warm, the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal. I had the lamb shank with the Risotto, other people at my table had the scallops. Everyone loved their meals. I recommend this restaurant to any foodie that knows that sometimes great food is worth the money. That said if you are on tight budget this restaurant is not for you, or you could stop in and have an appetizer.

Came with family for dinner on a Wednesday night. Had the beet salad n spinach pear salad. Both good. Had both custom and on menu dishes. The veal cannelloni was exceptional and the duck risotto special was also fantastic. The service was prompt with several people taking care of us. One lady was a bit short, but overall the wait n front end staff was lovely. Will without a doubt return.

Easton, MD. Had dinner. Very elegant ambiance. In the main square downtown. Ordered ravioli with pumpkin and eggplant parmigian. Very small portions. Ravioli was fine. Eggplant had no taste. Not likely to return.

My husband and I tried Scossa for dinner. Our waitress was very rude, and never made eye contact with me, even when she took my order. The food was average. It didn’t have a lot of flavor. The prices are expensive, and I had hoped for better, but was pretty disappointed. I must say though, the table attendants were spectacular! They were very attentive, always kept water filled, plates cleared, etc., so thank you to them! As we walked out, no one bothered to say, «Thank you» or anything. We will not return.

Came here with a group of 8 on a Sunday night for dinner. Our group was told the restaurant was«all booked up» although there were tables upon tables open as well as the entire front porch being open. Once we were turned away we began walking down the street to find a new place to eat, when a waiter came running down the street telling us we could sit out on the front porch if we wanted. Unfortunately, we agreed to stay. The service was awful. The waitress had a poor attitude and only took drink orders for one half of the table, as well as only telling the same half of the table the specials. When she took our orders she did not listen to several people in our party, resulting in wrong orders. Personally, I ordered a simple gnocchi with red sauce, and was given a plate of spaghetti. When I tried to tell her this was not my order she quickly ran away from the table. When she returned I reminded her that this was not my order and explained I had placed order for the gnocchi. Her response: «well this is spaghetti with marinara.» Exactly… I did not order this dish. Additionally, one of the other members of our party had the wrong order and was pressured to trade orders with someone else at our table without even being OFFERED to have their proper dish be made. The plus side is that once our correct dishes all finally arrived they were delicious. But because of the snobbery and poor treatment from the waitstaff, we will not be returning.

Maybe time of day played a large part in my first experience but my second visit was truly night and day. This trip was for a planned luncheon which typically you’d except the food to be just ok for. Instead our servers were on point, each course was beautifully presented, and EVERYONE enjoyed their meals. I am a risotto fan so as much as I love ordering it, I am always prepared to be underwhelmed. This was not one of those cases. Just enough tooth, nicely seasoned, perfectly creamy, and the accompanying shrimp not over cooked. Some of us stayed after our meal to sit at the bar to continue chatting and get a drink. Our bar tender was a delight and properly chatty. You could see she was honestly proud to work at the restaurant. There will be a return visit, still not for brunch but maybe this time for dinner.

Got off the main highway looking for something that wasn’t a chain. Scossa looked good, so we found a place to park and went in. The surly hostess looked down her nose and with disdain said that since we didn’t have a reservation, she couldn’t accommodate us, even at the bar. Really? I don’t care how good the food is, with customer service like that, I won’t be going back. Walked next door to Martini’s where we were greeted with a smile, seated immediately and enjoyed a good if not stellar experience. See my review on Martini’s here:

My wife and I decided to have dinner here one night while we were staying in St. Michaels for the weekend. What a great Italian meal with excellent service all around. We made reservations so we were quickly seated when we arrived. My wife started with the Endive & avocado with aged pecorino cheese salad, which she really enjoyed. I tried to grab a few bites, but she wasn’t readily sharing. For our entrée, I went with the Veal cannelloni with zucchini & tomatoes and my wife had the Risotto of the day, which ended up being Risotto and shrimp. There were three cannelloni’s in my meal and I devoured it as it was so delicious. My wife equally enjoyed her Risotto which had cut-up shrimp mixed in with the risotto along with broiled large shrimps on top of the risotto. While we were both full by this point, we still decided to go for dessert with my wife going for the tiramisu and me with the crepes alla crema. My dessert was just OK and I preferred my wife’s tiramisu, but like the salad earlier, she wasn’t doing a whole lot of sharing. Service was excellent all throughout the dinner and our drinks constantly filled. Even when my wife had a couple of sauce stains on the white table cloth, they covered it up with a white napkin before serving her dessert. The only slight negative for me was actually the pace of the meal – it was too fast. We were in and out of there in just under an hour, and given this was a romantic weekend getaway for us, I wasn’t necessarily in a hurry. Would definitely come back if we find ourselves in the area again.
