USA Insulation

Not the greatest. Was told all exterior walls would be insulated with the special expanding foam, but even the test hole that was drilled by the salesman which showed there was nothing but a 6 inch cavity remained nothing more than a cavity when I checked after the installers left. No way to tell how much of the house actually got covered with the insulation, some walls feel dense by knocking, others very hollow. The one hole available to check certainly had none. I’ll update if all my walls get insulated.

Installation: Once confirmed, the appointment to install was made for the same week. Installer arrived on time, 8:30. Upon my inspection, the job was done in a thorough and meticulous manner.
I had two rooms in my house that were drafty. Since getting foam insulation, that portion of the house is now air sealed and there is no longer any draft. It feels like the ambient temperature of the house instead of hotter or colder depending on the season. I have not received my first energy bill, but I’m sure it will be less b/​c the AC is not running as much.
I also had them put the foam insulation in between the joists in the basement to keep bugs out. They do not sell it for this purpose, but that has worked for me as well.
It isn’t cheap, but I think if drafts and hot/​cool rooms bother you, then this is the way to go. Much better than the rolled insulation I used to have. I would do the whole house if I ever build one.
