History
Established in 2011.
The journey into our current 6,000 sq. foot facility began the summer of 2011 in Chardon, Ohio. Owners CJ Kostranchuk and Heath Wenzel met at the local gym and 2 unique training styles collided. CJ’s 12 years of experience under the bar and his time spent as a colliegate athlete were opposite Heath’s years of endurance based training preparing him for rock climbing, running, surfing and countless outdoor adventures. What began with 2 guys getting countless curious looks, slowly grew into a small group of dedicated individuals. One of those was our 3rd owner Jon Kostranchuk. What was born, The Bar CrossFit.
The Bar CrossFit was established to empower individuals through specialized athletic training. Our experience has shown this programming provides not only physical strength but instills work ethic, discipline and mental fortitude. These skills help develop an internal toughness and a self — confident attitude that will sustain you through every adversity and temporary discouragemen
Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner
My Love for the Olympic Lifts started at the age of 14. I was going into my freshman year at VA-SJ and was looking to start on our varsity football team. I knew that strength training was the key, and I was correct. The passion continues to be fueled and the quest for knowledge never stops. I continue to travel to work with former Olympians, Long-Time Weightlifting coaches and anyone who will help me become a better coach. I am excited to pass along my knowledge and experiences with each of you at The Bar CrossFit. I want to leave you with this…
