These folks are great! I love this shop and look forward to coming in every time I am in town. I have found some great bargains and the staff is nice. Support your local record store!

I stopped by Platterpus Records to do a little digging and didn’t walk out with much! The PROS –lots of ‘rock’ music to dig gthrough –friendly staff/owner –found street parking easily The CONS –selection is rather ‘budget bin’ oriented stuff, but not at budget bin prices –too much filler and stuff you can find at thrift stores for .50-$ 1.00 bins elsewhere –soul/r&b section was weak –listening station stereo is junk(I’d never drop that needle on a record) Overall, this would be a shop I’d only return to if I really needed to do a dig and was in the area. I’ve been to some really great shops so I have high expectations. I really wanted to like it more, but just too much quantity over quality with high prices.

Recently we swung into Platterpus Records to look at their selection of CDs and records and have to say that we liked the selection they had. The store was packed with a ton of different records and it was nice to take some time to look through a ton of different genres. The quality of the merchandise was great, but a lot of the items were a bit overpriced in comparison to some other record store we have been to. Overall, not a bad shop! This is definitely a place to stop in at if you are looking to pic up some vintage records. They also have a ton of different items to support local bands.
