Last time I went I got the freshest most fluffiest and best garlic nuts. Not so much they were over cooked and dry. Pizza usually good, rice ball was pretty good last time. But over all inconsistent.

I’ve only eaten in the restaurant and the food is consistently good. The bread basket is difficult to resist and they keep it coming. The soups and salads we’ve had have all been perfect. The baked clams are yummy and are something we order every time. They always have daily specials on the menu and you can’t go wrong with them. The meatballs and sausages are great but the red sauce is not the best. The Calamari is always perfectly cooked. The wine drinkers are not thrilled with the selection there and think it could be improved. We’ve never had the pizza but it is cooked in a wood burning oven in what looks like a very clean prep area and kitchen. For the prices and the service, which has always been good for us, it’s a nice, comfortable place to go to for a causal Southern Italian meal.

Visit Date: December 12, 2015 I have always wanted to try Villa Maria. I decided to finally try them when I had some time to kill in between work and my friend’s mother’s wake. When I walked in I was seated immediately and the hostess was very nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant seems to be slightly dated circa late 80s, early 90s but despite that I found the food and the staff to be very nice and accommodating. I had ordered the brick oven 10″ personal pie with eggplant, ricotta and mozzarella. The waiter and I were unfortunately not on the same page as I wasn’t clear with him that I had wanted the pizza and he thought I wanted the pasta dish. When the pasta dish came out I spoke to the waiter and although this was probably my mistake he was very nice and he took the pasta dish away to put my pizza order in. I was given a bread basket and managed to get four slices of bread and butter down before my pizza because sometimes I’m a pig. The bread was delicious, fresh and the crust was just the right amount of crispy. The pizza was a thin crusted slice of herbal heaven. I’m pretty sure I was tasting basil along with the eggplant, ricotta and mozzarella cheese. Even though I can pack away the food I wasn’t able to finish my whole pie and I split the rest with hubby the next day for lunch. He said they cooked their eggplant the right way. I was impressed with my experience at Villa Maria!

Their pizza is OK, but their delivery is terrible! 45 minutes for a regular pie is a really long time, and then when the pizza arrives… it’s ice cold! Definitely ordering from a different pizzeria from now on.

Love their pepperoni pizza slices and grandma’s! Their meatballs are absolute greatness, only place I go to for any Italian food. Definite 5 star resturant! May be a little pricey but definitely worth it!

I am torn on Villa Maria. In a town with 4 pizzerias within a mile of each other it is by far the best one around, but there are a few things about it that make me seek elsewhere for my pizza fix. For one, their house pie selection is uninspired. Not much variety here, however you can add toppings– sure, but for some reason slices that I have ordered with toppings seem to fall short here for me. With that said, it’s a great place for a plain cheese slice! Maybe my favorite, but the quality can sometimes be inconsistent. I can’t speak for the entirety of their menu, but I have ordered entrees a few times here and was disappointed. I also find the prices to be a little on the high side. I would come here for a quick fix while in town but would head up north to Lynbrook to get some better food and more reasonable prices.

Since moving to East Rockaway a few years ago there’s only one place in town to order out from that is always as good as the first time you’ve had it and always quick easy delivery. I think of the hundreds of times I’ve ordered from there they might have gotten something wrong once and they sent the delivery guy back in less than 5 minutes. In the winter I strongly recommend the Chicken Tortellini Soup it will warm you up and have you begging for more of that broth. All around you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Their regular pie is the best around along with their pinwheels and if you love calzone you have to try theirs. The cheese tastes so fresh it literally tastes like cannoli cream. And the Chicken alla Villa is out of this world. Take the best chicken marsala you’ve ever had and slice it up and melt mozzarella over it and you’ll be begging others to share it because it’s so filling. it may be a little more expensive than little pizza shops around but its worth every penny.

I have gone to villa maria several times and the food was ok. When i went the last few time i heard the owner being very nasty to the hard working help. The busboys were rushing and she was yelling commands and then i heard her chewing one out for not being fast enough. Another time, the owner was quibbling about tip money, should she even be involved with that? If your not going to respectyour employees i dont want to be eating there. Thats a good indication of the quality of the owners.

Reasonably priced and adequate portions. My favorite is the penne in brown butter with grape tomatoes, arugula and pine nuts. You can’t go wrong with any choice.

Consistently good pizza delivery. We’ve ordered from Villa Maria many times over the past year and the food is always delivered fresh, hot and tasty. They also have delicious Sausage Rolls!!! Keep up the GREAT work Villa Maria!

I don’t know what has happened the past few months but Villa Maria has stepped up their game. Food and pizza has been spot on and delicious. The pizza has been especially amazing!

Villa Maria is a consistently nice experience. The pecan salad with grilled chicken is awesome. They also have a great a la vodka sauce. All around good southern Italian dinning.

The pizza is great. We were relocated because of Sandy, and couldn’t find anything to compare. Couldn’t wait to come back home to have a delicious slice. I love their brick oven pizza, both the margherita and the eggplant.

Good little pizzeria restaurant. And surprisingly some of the best chicken wings I’ve had. Everything is good too.

This is an old go to favorite but lately, the food has slipped. Prices have risen but quality is mediocre. Service runs from rushed but efficient to downright frustrating. Even the pizza isn’t as good as it once was. Still have the best italian bread of any italian restaurant I’ve been to. Miss this former favorite…

Everything here is pure authentic southern Italian cooking. The buffalo chicken pizza is my favorite as well as the pasta.

Visited for dinner tonight(5÷18÷14). Tried a variety of dishes as well as the pizza. The food was ok. Not the best, but certainly not the worst. Prices were about average for the caliber of food they serve. My problem was with the service. It was not too busy when I walked in with 4 adults and 3 young children. We were seated very quickly. After 10 or 15 minutes, the waiter came by and took our drink order, then asked if we were ready to order. Unfortunately, we had not received any menus… not a big deal, and he said he’d be back in a moment. After another 5 minutes or so, he returned with them. After receiving our food in a reasonable amount of time, the waiter disappeared, never to return until our meals were completely finished and all of our drinks needed refills. After requesting the check, he disappeared again for another 10 or 15 minutes. All the while people that came in after us, who were also served by this one particular waiter, were gone before he brought us our check. Normally I’m pretty patient because I understand if you want 5 star service, then you should go to a 5 star establishment. Maybe I just caught the waiter on a bad day, but if I ever have plans of returning, I’ll be sure to request a different server.

Would give it a higher rating but their sauce is TERRIBLE! I actually add my own homemade sauce to any takeout I order from them. I would love them to taste my sauce. It makes a difference in a meal. Some people aren’t picky, but I’m Italian.
