Everyone here knows me and my family based on the frequency of my visits and whenever I bring a guest they think we are in Cheers. Now I just gotta get everyone to say ‘Rico’ when I step in the building. Toya is my favorite server but everyone is good. Rarely there’s a new face because it must be as awesome to work here as it is to eat!

Cash only, atm $ 2 surcharge for your use. I had two scramble eggs with cheese, grits, sausage and pancakes. My aunt ordered chicken wings and waffles. My breakfast was lukewarm but okay. I though the pancakes were big and kinda hard. Meh, I have had better but would try it again.

Very nice restaurant but nothing we had ordered screamed 4 – 5 stars. There were a few things we wanted to order that they had ran out of, but that could be our fault for coming after breakfast time. Parking is very limited, we drove around a couple of times to find a spot.

OMG! This food is Soooo Good. I ordered the Ultimate Seaside and it was the best plate I ever had. You got to get the Uptown sweet tea & Lemonade. My server name was Jonathon. He was great from start to finish. He was attentive and kept the drinks coming. This was my first time and it won’t be my last.

Cash only establishment with ATM on premises. 7am — 3pm. Everything is made to order so have patience. I have never had a bad meal here. Most days there is wait and they do not seat incomplete parties. If you don’t want to wait for a table there are plenty seats at the counter. I had the sassy scramble with the multi grain biscuit. So yummy! Must try it if you have a strong appetite.

As of 12/30/2015, they take CASHONLY. Meal was great but such a hassle to pay, especially when splitting checks.

Saw the reviews and had to try this place. I’m so happy I did! Parking is tight but it’s worth the visit. Our waiter was nice and gave us good suggestions. I will be back! The spuds(house potatoes) were great! Also the smoked wings!

Found this place browsing around on Unilocal and decided to check it out. Parking… yo it was pretty difficult to find a decent spot due to the bank deebo’ing most of them but I finally found a spot across the street by the church. The. Wait. And I chose to visit the location after the lunch rush and it was not packed at all but my meal took about 20 min to arrive and I’m not for sure why. And when it did arrive!!! Yummy as hell. I selected the Low Country Heap and wasn’t disappointed. Pretty tasty and I couldn’t eat it all.

Southern hospitality at its finest! The food is phenomenal, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is nice, friendly, and efficient. Saturday, 12÷5÷15 was our first time dining here, and we were so pleased with our experience that we had to come back today! Yesterday I had the skillet heap with turkey bacon added in. It was full of potatoes, cheese, onions, eggs, and turkey bacon — and it was delicious! It was very filling, and I couldn’t even finish it. My husband had an uptown to drink and the Belgian waffle with scrambled eggs. He devoured it! Making our ATL food tour all the better was our extremely sweet and personable waitress, Neesha! Not only is she an excellent waitress,(anticipating needed refills and condiments before we asked), but she’s down-to-earth, approachable, and an all-around pleasant person! Today I had the strawberry French toast with scrambled eggs! YUMMY! My husband had the fried fish and grits. He loved it! We had just as good a time today as we did yesterday,(although we missed Neesha). If you’re in the area, I definitely suggest you try this place! The food and service are great, and you’ll leave full and satisfied!

Disappointed. I sat down only to discover they only take cash. I hardly ever carry cash. I had 2 bucks to tip the waitress since she had already brought out some water and coffee, but I had to leave. I’ll never know if the food was good or not– bummer

TGFY — once again a treasure of a spot I would never have found on my own. Just flew in on a early bird flight with the BFF for a couple of days in the GA hills. Once car and luggage was squared away, the serious business of finding a «Good» breakfast joint was in order. Unilocaling and chatting a local, It was quickly confirmed this would be our destination. Good Karma keeps on coming. Quick parking, no wait, super friendly staff and a great cup of coffee. Life is good. So it’s 2015 when i finish this review. Flew in, got car and came straight here. Yes! That damn good. :)

Loved it! Big portions, great selection. Next time we are in town this is where we will be! Seaside breakfast was delicious. Family also had garden scrambler, beefy scrambler and sassy scrambler. All were good. Two cons– Cash only and lots of flys!

I have partaken of Thumbs Up enough times to count on both my fingers and toes. This particular location usually has a line out of the door on Saturday mornings. It’s a bit overhyped to me. There aren’t many choices in the downtown East Point area to eat, so logically; some establishments triumph out of lack of true competition. The service always falls short for me(minus one star), so it is my pleasure to order to-go whenever I do stumble in here. To be honest, I only visit when I’m entertaining guests from out of town or my Mom asks me to go because she is a big fan of their chicken sausage. I tried it a few times and it’s a ‘thumbs up’ to me. The food is not bad at all, but it’s not great either. The portions are hearty and if you are a fan of eggs, there is an array of magical concoctions for you to choose from. I stick to the standard American style breakfast or sometimes I’ll get steak. The food is piping hot when it comes to your table, so that’s a star. The other star belongs to their grits: creamy and smooth. They soothe your soul like a grandma’s bear hug. I once tried the«Buckwheat» waffle and it was very… wheaty, lol. It really gave my palate a run for its’ money to sift through the flavor of unrefined, hearty ground wheat. All in all, give it a whirl if you’re not down for the oh so delightful Waffle House experience. P. S. They only accept cash, ATM inside

Let me start off by saying that the food was 5 star!!! Hot, fresh, and cooked to order… I tried the ultimate seafood, and it was just that!!! The shrimp and grits were heaven, the salmon and eggs were cooked to perfection, and the fried catfish was supreme… This place stays busy, so come early, with cash and prepare to wait! But they are truly worth the wait…

We showed up just before the Saturday morning rush, and were seated promptly in a booth. The décor is charming, as is the street on which the Thumbs Up Diner is located. I ordered a coffee, a large bowl of grits, and a scrambled egg with cheese to go in the grits, along with one of my wife’s three strips of applewood-smoked bacon. She ordered some white toast, and scrambled egg whites with a little yolk, and an orange juice. A few minutes passed, and our waitress came back to let us know that the grits weren’t going to be ready for 15 minutes or so, and that currently they were watery. She offered me an opportunity to change my order, which I did, to two eggs over hard, a pecan pancake, and sausage patties. While she walked away, my wife and I discussed how their refusal to serve something that didn’t meet their standards was a good sign for the meal. The coffee was just okay, but they kept it filled. When our food came, they had left the scrambled egg with cheese on my plate, though I didn’t want it(they didn’t charge for it). The eggs that I had asked to be prepared over hard were instead over easy. I didn’t want to make a stink, and don’t mind over easy, so my wife volunteered up a piece of her toast, which I used to mop up the yolk that hit the plate. I managed, luckily, to avoid spilling any on myself. The pecan pancake was quite large and fairly good. A little denser and doughier than I was expecting. I ate about half of it with liberal portions of warm maple syrup. The sausage patties weren’t far from what can be found anywhere, as was the bacon that I swapped with the Mrs. for one of my patties. Decent, but not the outstanding quality I have enjoyed at Miss Shirley’s in Baltimore. The eggs were eggs, the toast was toast… it was all pretty basic, not at all bad but not far beyond middling. I would give the place 3.5 stars if I could, but since I’m limited to whole stars, they deserved to be rounded down rather than up. By the time we left, there was a steady stream of new patrons coming in and waiting for tables to become available.

Cash only!!! Very clean and welcoming restaurant. I had the Yukon omelette with white toast and a sweet tea. The best Omelette I’ve ever had. It has smoked salmon and cream cheese. The toast was toasted perfectly. The sweet tea was delicious! The service was very friendly and seating was prompt(mid morning on a Monday). Can’t wait to return.

Grand slam! And not in the Denny’s way. I got a skillet with chicken sausage and it was sizzlin’. I actually wish it had more components — maybe peppers and more onion. I probably should have used some ketchup with it too. But the potatoes and chicken saus was spot on. The sweet tea was hitting the spot too. Love me some sweet tea. My wife ordered the chicken and waffles which looked pretty good itself. I had a bite and the chicken was crisp and tender, def a good choice. We don’t get out this way for breakfast often, but I can see us making another trip.
