I have eaten in many Peruvian restaurants and I had the best peruvian breakfast, big portions, not expensive and friendly atmosphere, I would definitely family and friends, awesome, La Pancita Anticucheria is worth the drive…

I came here to get a Pollo A La Brasa in between classes; I go to Rutgers University in Newark. I was pleased to see a giant banner in front of the restaurant saying«Delicious Pollo a La Brasa», the problem was they didn’t even have it! The lady did a good job letting me know what else is good and I opted for Milenesa de Pollo(Breaded Chicken). It was good but nothing to rave about. If I lived locally I would definitely try they’re food again. The amount of food they give you for the price is definitely in favor of the customer. If the owner reads this, you could probably save a few bucks by serving half the amount of rice. Lastly, if you prefer a Chicha Morada that tastes less sugary then most(which personally I do) then this place is worth trying if you are in the area.

I’m a peruvian food fan; but this restaurant needs to improve a lot: The«chicha morada» was poor .no taste„ the«green» peruvian sauce was really bad, taste like rotten. and brown-mustard color far away from the real taste it should be, my wife ordered a «lomo saltado» and couldn’t finished it„ it was too hard…, sorry… I can’t give better score.,

Best tasting Peruvian food in the area I’ve tasted. A bit expensive tho. You can definitely get Peruvian food else where but the quality wouldn’t be as good so why would you want to? I got the tallarines verdes $ 12. Amaze balls! Totally worth it! And the papa a la huancaína which was also good but they didn’t give enough for the price.

I’ve been to this place twice with the same Peruvian friend and let me just say, WOW! This is that hole in the wall place that only locals know about. This is the place for fresh ceviche! Everything on the menu is in Spanish and I don’t know what anyone says, I just make sure that my friend orders me the«ceviche misto» or I think that’s what it’s called. This is a terrible sell on this place but trust me, if you speak Spanish or a friend that does, take them here. The people are very nice, service is quick and attentive. I had the fried seafood platter identical to the fresh ceviche I love so much my first time with the misto. I liked the fried but they just do the fresh so well that I don’t even bother looking at the menu my second time. My second trip here my friend ordered a fish stew that was excellent. It was served with white rice and potatoes. This is definitely a place I will keep coming back to. Maybe one day, I will learn to come without my translator/friend. =)

This place is a godsend, I moved here from Jersey City to be closer to my school in Newark, and thought I’d have to travel back to Union City to get some good Peruvian food, but luckily I walked into this place on a whim and felt like I had made a momentous discovery lol, I love this place more than the ones in Union City, and it’s 1000% better than the the other place«Oh Calamares!» in Kearny.
