Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace

Place is small. The meat department does not have the teriyaki skirt steak which is amazing. The deli department is a mess. They close ½ hour before the store apparently. I was on line ordering with 3 people in front of me. They turned off all the lights in that whole area. Only had one machine cutting meat and cheese on same slicer. people waiting for cold cuts. They kept messing up everyone’s orders and giving the wrong items to people. I have been here a few times and Massapequa is worth the drive because this one sucks!

Had 3 parties catered from them. All 3 times the food arrived at the promised time, hot and delicious. The staff they provided was professional and efficient. The marketplace has fair prices, helpful employees and a wonderful deli and the italian bread is the best around.

Had an incident with one of their thug managers a few years back. Hope they’ve learned to better screen their employees. Haven’t gone back.

This review is only for the items I buy here. Whenever i have a craving for tiramisu, I go here! I had tiramisu from numerous places in several countries but Uncle G’s is the absolute BEST. They only sell it by the big piece which is about $ 10, and I eat it all by myself! If you are a tiramisu lover, try this one! Now, last time I was there, I ended up buying garlic knots. OMFG!!! It was soooo ridiculously good. I almost wished that I didn’t find out because now I will have to get it often and you know that’s not the healthiest thing to munch on. Oh well. It had tons of garlic and parmesan cheese as well. Oh man. I’m drooling now.Lol. Hmmm I wonder if other items are as good. I guess I will have to try.

Got a grilled chicken ceased salad from here today the lettuce was all brown and the date on the package said sell by ⁹⁄₁₅ PISSED!!! Not fresh at all

The selection of delicious gourmet Italian and American favorites, the plentiful selection of fresh produce (not the cheapest I must say), a deli section that has wonderful ideas for any meal, especially when accompanied by Giuseppe’s fresh bread, cheese, and salad novelties. They have a nice bakery area and the seafood is fresh, though expensive… although you keep your eyes out this time of year for amazing lobster specials.
Now, the greatest part of shopping there? Listening to the classic Italian soundtrack, and letting the songs pleasantly permeate your brain. Grab some prosciutto, some fresh mozzarella, a gorgeous meaty tomato and pretend you’re in Tuscany.

They make the best cannoli’s ever! Much better than other stores including bakeries, because at the other stores they have tiny cannoli’s, or large ones at high prices. Uncle Giuseppe’s makes their cannoli’s fresh everyday! They are as good as it gets for sure! We come here as often as we can, especially when their on sale. Awesome!

Best raviolis and mozzarella! Love everything I have had from here, definitely recommend coming to Uncle Giuseppe’s.

Tainted meat.
Once from the massapequa store and one from east meadow.
I bought meatballs in massapequa. They looked fresh bout when I got home I noticed they looked too fresh. They were really pinkish red and had large pieces of parsley on the outside which is unusual for the store. They usually add chopped parsley but not like these. Now, in retrospect it seems obvious that was done to make them look fresh. After cooking in the oven … And cooking… And cooking…50 minutes instead of the recommended 20… The meat was still a weird red color inside. Like the meat was sprayed with something.
Second time I went to east meadow store and bought a meatloaf. Bought there once before and did not have the issue. This time I got the same result. Really well done and again, a weird red color inside that had nothing to do with temperature and everything to do with something being done to the meat.
First time I returned the meatballs, they have me atore credit and promised to investigate. Second time with meat loaf, I threw it out and vowed not to buy meat there ever again. The salads are real good but I would never buy any raw or prepared meats there again.

** AMENDED REVIEW — Within minutes of placing this review, I was contacted by their Marketing person and they really have been working hard to make this up to myself and my company. I feel much better knowing that we have someone personally involved in making our re-​scheduled holiday luncheon go smoothly.
Placed a giant order for a work luncheon. Confirmed it, spoke to several people about it. The day of the luncheon rolls around and they suddenly don’t have the order. They remember taking the order, remember my confirming the order, and yet NEVER MADE THE FOOD. I have 20 people sitting around for a luncheon with nothing to serve. I have people from out of town for a luncheon that now cannot happen.

Great chicken salad and tuna fish. No matter what I get it’s fresh. Great cold cuts and prepared food. Always good.

They messed up our catering order pretty bad but made it right in end.

Very, very nice supermarket. Clean and organized and full of a lot of gourmet, high quality, imported products. Their butchered meats are beautifully carved and presented, as are the fresh fish products. The deli department also had many great looking, cooked meals. You can gain weight just by looking at their food. The prices were not astronomical as you would expect either. This was my first time here because I don’t live nearby, but I will definitely come back again if I am in the neighborhood.

Seriously, can’t get enough of their chicken sliders.
Everything is made fresh and everything is delicious. I’ve come here for food for my barbeques and I’m so in love. The food is clearly of high quality and I have no complaints with this place or the selection.
Great pasta selection. Just snagged a box of pumpkin ravioli that i’ve yet to try, but I have high hopes for it.
All in all, great place if you’re looking for some great fresh food.

When I need the best of italian ingredients I come here. Even fresh pastas and sauces if you want to be quick and not go from scratch. Great meat selection!!!
I like this one just alittle better because not many people know its there. Its tucked away in a shopping center… a nice hidden gem.
Next to Ivarone Brothers (which I promise I’m not cheating on you) it’s my favorite italian market.

I come to this place whenever I’m going to BBQ. They have the best meats and a great selection of prepared foods. One of the things I always get here is the chicken pinwheels and the steak pinwheels. They are filled with goodness that is awesome on the BBQ. Theu also have great sausage chicken, pork you name it they have it.
I wouldnt recommend shopping for your regular groceries here but the meat & deli sections are great.

Holy crap this place has loads and loads of delicious goodness.
Set up like a grocery store, the outer rim has all of the things you know you want. They have a giant meat section with house made sausages of all meat varieties, fresh beef and delicious pork. They’re chicken sausages are some of the best I’ve ever had. They also gave a great produce and dry goods section.

The real star of this show is the deli and prepared foods section. Theb pretty much havd any salad or meat dish you can imagine and it’s all and incredibly fresh. Then there’s the cheese. There seems to be a mile of it and they again have every kind you can think of. Also they have house made fresh mozzarella.
If you want Italian specialties, you want Uncle Giuseppe’s!

Whipping up gourmet meals is incredibly easy thanks to places like Uncle Giuseppe’s!
Get their home-​made Fra Diavlo sauce, homemade pastas and raviolis (pumpkin being my favorite) and their nice selection of meats — your friends and family rub their tummies in satisfaction then (hopefully) wash the dishes!
If you really want to cheat, head over to their deli/​prepared foods section and take home some lasagna, chicken cutlets, wide assortment of salads and pastas!

What a terrific store! The produce! And the deli!
The store is beautiful and immaculate, has terrific fruits and vegetables, and has food and service in the deli department that was so great, I must share: The crew member (Nick?) was handing me the deli foods I ordered, saw I was struggling with all the containers, and ran from around the counter to get me a handbasket! He transcends good to great!
All in all, this is a must-​go store!

just like Iavaronne and salpinos, a good italian market. this is setup more like a grocery store though, which is nice if you dont want to step food in king kullen, or waldbaums.
the best part of this place, nowhere can you get better veggies or fruits. even if you just want that, worth the trip.

What a great market!
Try one of their many homemade pasta’s and match it with one of their homemade sauces. The ravioli’s are one of my favorites. Try the porcini or butternut squash raviolis mmm mmmm good. Great meatballs behind the counter and they even make a mean Italian hero on your choice of bread.

Produce is fresh as well as meats, chicken, cheese and other traditional Italian goodies for one’s home cooking needs.
As a cookie monster I always have to check out the junk food aisle of sweets and cookies. The cookies selection is well-​stocked as well as imported brand names from Italy. Service is somewhat attentive, thus four stars.
Uncle Giuseppe is everyone’s uncle in the hood.
