Here’s what I like about this place… Everything!!!
Old school service, they know everything and seem to have every obscure repair part for anything around the house.
I like that when you walk in the door with a broken part in your hand they know immediately what you need to fix it.
Prices are competitive, not the cheapest but it’s worth it not having to wander around a big box store for 45 minutes.

Yesterday morning I went to buy five Bolt and nuts
For My son toy waiting for help for like 10 minutes the guy Cain and give me bad luckl like I’m doing something wrong I live in east haven for 10yearsI always want to support local stores I went to the register with the five bolts the cashier told is $ 17.85
He overpriced me I’m not going no more the price is super Spencer I went to Home Depot to buy the same boat and nuts for $ 3.49Plus tax beware prices is ridiculous I’m not going no more

This place is awesome. I am always greeted when I walk in regardless of whether or not they are busy. Help is always available, everyone is extremely knowledgeable and the place is very clean. Prices are good on everything from paint to law care. Highly recommend, especially if you are not sure of what you are looking for.

For those who are old enough… remember going into a mom n pop hardware store, and the customer service was 2nd to none? Well, I’m happy to report that we still have at least one of those left.
Goody’s is really remarkable… friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and if they don’t have it, they’ll get it for you. If your tired of the who gives a crap attitude at Home depot and Lowes, then go to this place… you’ll leave with a smile on your face.

This place has 5 stars from so many Unilocalers for a reason — when it comes to local hardware stores, it really is as good as it gets.
I visited recently on a Sunday morning to pick up some odds and ends that I needed. The place was buzzing with activity with plenty of customers being helped out by the friendly staff at Goody’s. I was asked several times by different employees if I needed help finding anything while I was there, which I took as a mark of excellent customer service.
The aisles were narrow but well-​organized and easy-​to-​navigate. It was a much better experience than trying to wander through a warehouse looking for what I need, only to find that I’m across the store from where I need to be.
With its convenient location, friendly employees, and well-​stocked and organized store, I will definitely be revisiting Goody’s for my home improvement needs!

I’ve been going here since I was a child. Dan & Mark are always so nice (as are the whole staff). They never try to sell me anything I don’t need, and no matter how weird my description of the problem is, they always have the answer.
I love going here. It’s got the nice local, hometown vibe. Just something that the big box stores lack.

Goody’s is customer service at it’s best. Dan, Rob, and Dave together with their knowledgeable staff make shopping in the store so pleasurable. There seems to be an employee in every aisle eager to help. I have never walked out without finding what I came for or a better substitute. Prices are similar to the big chains but the level of customer service is to be commended. I am a loyal customer for 15 years and will never go elsewhere.

Always go to them first. Dan, Mark, and the guys know everything about everything, and are always prompt to greet and help you. I didn’t know which smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors to get, but Mark helped me figure it all out, and with simple, but detailed explanations of my choices. I go to them for everything I need, and can’t wait to need them again.

Goody’s is the best — they are brilliant at diagnosing what you need and never sell you more than necessary. The employees really know their craft and are proactive in asking if they can help you. Pam in the paint area is outstanding. I trust only her with a difficult question. The team at Goody’s is exceptionally friendly and service oriented. They are also great when I bring my kids with me. A free lollipop for each of them.

How can you not like a store where you can walk in not knowing precisely what you want and leave with exactly what you need? The woman at the paint counter was very helpful. The counter guys did not tire answering questions. Oh yeah, they even offered free hot dogs on the way out!

A remarkable find: wide selection, good quality, knowledgeable help, Goody’s has products you cannot find at the absurdly generic big box stores. The staff is friendly and helpful. Almost a museum of the traditional hardware store of America’s self-​reliant past. Patronize it and preserve it.

The guys over at Goody’s are fantastic!
Living right down the street from Goody’s is a blessing. Being a 10-​or-​more minute drive from the closest chain hardware-​warehouse, Goody’s has bailed me out on more than one occasion. I am the type of person who takes on projects on a whim, and then doesn’t make sure they have all the stuff to do it before beginning. More times that I can count, I’ve gotten «bright ideas,» only to make a quick run to Goody’s to grab a little something to help me out.
And the employees there are fantastic. They are so helpful, but without being super pushy like you find in many small retail stores. They don’t breath down your neck, but they are always around and more than willing to answer your questions, give advice, and joke around with you. AND their prices are comparable to the big stores, so unless you’re making huuuuge home improvements, Goody’s is your place.
I give them five stars!
