Town Fair Tire

the prices are great. they’ll match anything you find online or local. the service, im not 100% sure it exists. i get it, they are just tires, but their process is flawed. it takes a considerable amount of time just to drop off your car for new tires. Dont even think about waiting for it unless you have 2 hours to sit around. The time is fine, but they tell you it will be about an hour, no matter what you ask, so just be honest, after the 5000 cars they’ve put tires on, they really cant figure out how long it takes? Then, to end the deal, the tires they installed are clearly not balanced properly, as they are vibrating right out of the shop. shouldnt they be good at that? now i have to go back, wait for at least an hour and hope they do it right the 2^nd time.

The worst customer service I have experienced at a tire store in all of my adult life. They say one thing and do another. Example (me) how long will it take to fix my tire. (tft) about an hour wait. (me) If I book an appointment can you take me right in (tft) yes (me) I show up at the time scheduled and they tell me a 2 hour wait, and say the other guy was wrong. The other guy looks at you and just smiles. That was about a month ago, today I needed my tires rotated I was told about 45 minute wait and two hours later I was still waiting, but for the people buying new that came there after me they were taken in immediately and left long before me. Will never use this store again even if I have to pay double they just stink.

So my tire popped a few days back and I’ve been riding with a donut for those few days. On top of that my other tires have about 50k on them anyway PLUS a few bumps from hitting potholes. Time to change everything out and call it a day…
I came here because its a mile from my house so convenient. They open at 8am and I need to work at 11. So hours worked in my favor to get it done before work.
I walked in and was helped in just a few minutes after a short line was depleted. I was helped by a guy who was confident in his tire knowledge and was nice to work with overall. He walked me thru the store showing me tire options for my car. He reviewed pros and con’s to each one but did not ONCE try to persuade me to one or the other nor did he try to hard sell me in anyway… He more so played the «give him good information and let him make his own informed decision» game. I like this ALOT
I chose 4 new tires and told him I NEED to be out by 1030am so I can get to work. He guaranteed that would happen as its only 9.
The total came to $ 540… However I mentioned pep boys had a bogo tire deal and they quoted me $ 462. Without hesitation he changed the price to $ 462. NICCCCE
Very solid buying experience today :)

When I called they said it would be an hour instead 2 hours later I still didn’t have my car don’t come here

I have a mixed review for this business. Pros: good customer service, fast, large inventory, & they match or beat product/​service prices.
Cons: they try to sell you any add-​on service they can, needed or not. So do your research! Once service is done & reports say u didn’t need the work done, they don’t refund your money.

what can you do? they could tell you your flux capacitor is in need of charging and youre just hoping that your mr fusion is still under warranty!?!
all dr. browns aside (happy passover btw), a pin hole leak in the tread was causing a slooooow leak overnights and the tire light would go off some morning over a couple of weeks, so it was time to address.
originally, i thought it was another patch I had done at the auburn branch from a similar road hazard, but it turns out, it was a whole new hole. they patched it and tried to sell me an alignment on the side, but when it was all said and done,$ 7.36. yea, 8 bucks for a ‘major’ repair, tires as you know, are things that make contact with the road. for the cost of an extra value meal its fixed and your off and done (fingers crossed. also happy they didnt ‘find’ something extra either.
so in the end: $ 7.36 in ct, $ 4.23 in ma, they claimed some fee for a reset code for the warning light, which does it itself when properly filled (see above), and hence the 2 big solid stars.

Came to town fair to get one tire found out I need two tires, when I looked up the price on line it was a good 50 dollars less then the amount that I was given at the store. The Tires I ordered did not come in then i put the wrong size. the guys there worker with me and got me the tires I needed in the price I could afford, (two days later I bought a new car!!)

Had to come back after the tire they told me was in stock was not in stock. Took them over an hour to change one tire when I had an appointment. They tried to over charge me twice for the tire and that was when I was dealing with their manager. To top it off I found out when I got home they only put 18 psi in. It was supposed to have 33.
They also told me that their free front end alignment wasn’t worth doing without paying for the four wheel alignment since that would set the front wheels out of alignment with the back. Why do they offer free front alignment? There is more to a front end alignment than aligning them with the back wheels so I know what they were saying is not true.

I have been a long time customer of Town Fair Tires for over 25 years. I always thought they were pretty good, but no longer. I brought my 4-​wheel drive truck in today to have 1 tire replaced since my earlier 1 was slashed. I was told since I only had ⁵⁄₃₂ of an inch tread on the other 3 tires they would not do it unless I signed a waiver since they claimed that running a 4 wheel drive vehicle with tires not of the same tread depth could damage the transfer case. They wanted to sell me 4 new tires, or, in the alternative, 3 new ones to go with my 1 new spare that was on & then use the best of those 3 as a spare.
They quoted me a price of around $ 170 a tire. I told them I would have to think about it. I went to another tire place & was told something similar, although this time when they measured my tread depth they said they were ⁷⁄₃₂ of an inch. They also said this potential problem would only affect my truck when in 4 wheel drive. Since I only had 22,000 miles on this 6 year old truck & only have used 4 wheel in less than a few hundred of those I didn’t consider this a major problem & strongly considered getting my 1 replacement tire there, especially when they quoted me $ 135/​tire, including valve stem & balancing, for the same tire Town Fait had quoted me around $ 170, probably w/​o the valve stem & balancing.
Before I did anything however I consulted with my dealer & spoke to 2 people there, including the Service Manager. He guessed right away that I had been to a place like Town Fair & said they were completely wrong. He said I could run my truck with 3 brand new ones & 1 bald tire without a problem in 4 wheel drive to the transfer case. I was quoted a price for the same tire from the Dealer at $ 128, a full $ 40 plus less than Town Fair. With the valve stem & balancing it would cost $ 144. Needless to say I have ordered the tire from the Dealer.
I think Town Fair has acted extremely irresposibly in this matter. They have given me wrong information & used scare tactics (including telling me my spare tire wheel was rusted & could cause the wheel to fall off) in an attempt to make a sale. As I said previously, I have been a customer of Town Fair Tire for over 25 years & have bought many replacement tires on all of my vehicles from them. Needless to say, based on this experience I will never buy another. Shame on you Town Fair!

I would like to write an update on this horrible experience. As I stated before the initial service was done in Oct 2010. Well it is March 14 2011 and I still have damaged wheels on my truck. They rushed me in to have the «new» wheels put on (which I had to take a day off of work for) only to open the boxes and see they were all damaged from the factory. So Mr Regional Manager Mark, who said he inspected them all, was a flat out LIE. I called this past week look for an explanation and all I got was «sorry I dont know why they arent in yet» And when I ask about some reimbursement on all my time and the money I spent on the tires I get the «your lucky we are fixing the rims» Um hello you admitted and damaged them not me.
Still the worse experience I have ever had with tires and rims. If I could I would put a flyer in all papers and tv news stations detailing my ordeal and the time and money I have put in to STILL have damaged wheels on my truck
