The Container Store

Love this store!!! They have everything you could possibly need to make your home or office super organized! Today although I went to just look I met Janine one of the managers. She helped me to design my sewing room closet and I am thrilled to say I purchased to shelving units that are being made with wheels. My friend Beth is the only person who truly understands my excitement over this kind of purchase. She too loves this place!

Great store everything in one place that I need .
My wife has almost 1 million shoes! (hahaha) No not really, but I have 6 pair and think that’s a lot.
Anyway we need to organize her shoes. This shopping expedition included photos of probable candidates… of course need to pass my wife’s inspection before making purchase.
I know better than to get things without her okay (also hahaha).
Was very pleased with the nice stainless rolling clothes rack that we got for the holidays (she has three closets I have one).but she needed this one also.
It’s all good.
I work well over a hundred hours a week .(for real) .I’m happy she can have what she wants!

They designed and installed closets for us. It was a great experience. We also use all sizes of the plastic storage bins for our kids items, they work terrific!

The Container Store on Long Island at the Gallery of Westbury Plaza in Garden City, New York has unique products. We went there to buy a box of made in hangers which come in a variety of colors. I like the fact that the hangers are in a box, reasonably priced and made in America, and they are sturdy compared to other plastic hangers. It is convenient that they are in a box. Sometimes there are a few strands of plastic on the hangers which have to be brushed off before use. The store is usually always crowded on the weekends. There are long check out lines, but they move fairly quickly. The parking lot of the outdoor shopping center is packed, and it is difficult to find a parking space, and there is substantial traffic in the area. They need to expand the parking lot. They should put another store on Long Island. There are other stores in the Gallery at Westbury Plaza which pull the parking from the Container Store.

My first time at this store and I was kind of amazed. They sell more than just containers. They almost sell everything in terms of storage you can think of. I literally want to buy everything that was in the store.
They got a section that is dedicated to closets and there are people there that can help you design. Their model closets are just stunning and flawless.
In the end, we bought 2 shelves that needed minor assembly when we get home. They had someone roll everything to our car which was on the other side of the parking lot. Service was just so friendly. What a great experience at this store

I really like the container store! I will say the prices are a bit outrageous considering I could buy similar things at Ikea for cheaper, but all-​in-​all, it’s a pretty nice store. Obviously, they sell containers; all types. They sell office supplies and organizing items for the bedroom and bathroom. The even return things with little to no questions asked and that’s a quality I love in a place of business!

So much fun to shop in this store. The store is very organized and clean, the store workers are very friendly and helpful. The price is little pricy but there are plenty of speciality goods that only this place carry. I recommend people to shop here.

The first time I saw this place on Old Country Road, I thought, «How many different Tupperware and plastic bins could there be that they’d need to have such a niche store for them?»
Wow. Was I wrong! I ain’t a neat freak, but I was impressed.
We bought an Elfa closet organizer system. Kinda pricey, but everything was very well-​thought-​out and definitely well-​made. We did come across an OOPS in the design, though. As with any standards and bracket system, you cannot have two brackets too close to each other. The store’s software apparently doesn’t realize that, and as a result, we will have to exchange a large bin for a medium. Not a major problem, other than the two hours wasted.
The system is heavy grade. So much so, that it isn’t necessary to secure the vertical standards to the wall near the bottoms. They’re only secured at the top with the hanging brackets. Nice system.

The new «POP» (probably stands for «Point of Purchase») login at the cash register is extremely maddening! It’s Sunday. There are only three registers open. Why then should a customer, before any items can even be scanned, have to log in? Why can’t The Container Store just give everyone those little key chain membership cards (like CVS) so that this process can be expedited? Why not use the Waldbaums or Trader Joe’s model and do away with loyalty programs altogether? God knows this place makes plenty of money.
And what if I did not have an e-​mail address or a phone number I wanted to give out? What if I didn’t give a feces, not even a fart, about this new point of purchase customer tracking system? There are better ways to track customer trends/​preferences.
Checking out is slow enough as it is! Putting another annoying system for people to log into before any item can be scanned is just aggravating. Not everyone has seven days a week to hang out (i.e., retired), there are those who need to use Sundays efficiently to run errands, spend quality time with family/​friends, etc. Come on. You can do better than this!
Aside from the above, the items are still great (and expensive), though.

My favorite container store everrr better than Sixth Avenue in Manhattan. So very organized, go figure! Came here to buy 2 storage bins for my shoes and ended up buying organizational things for nearly every place in the house, linen closet/​bathroom. Haha!
There is even a section for Elfa, gift packaging and the office. Good prices, different textures, designs, and accessories for every room and closet in the house.

I have been wanting to make a trip to this store for quite some time and finally had a chance to. As soon as I walked in I knew I would want to buy it ALL. They have everything and anything under the sun for home organization. Their staff was very helpful and friendly but a bit on the pushy side. I’m not a fan of pushy salesman. I bought a shoe rack which happened to be on sale and I love. But the store does tend to be on the pricey side. Some of things I feel are worth the price but some not so much. I can find a lot of these items in Ikea at a much more affordable price.

i came here to buy a new utensil organizer they had many to choose from. traditional plastic, mesh wire and wood bamboo. i originally purchased the mesh but when i brought it home i realized the bamboo would fit in our draws.
I signed up for the Pop Star rewards program which only took a few minutes to fill out in my information on the touch screen tablet. the nice thing about the program is they will send you emails about store promotions new items etc.
when i had to make my return the return was simple! when i signed up for the Pop star program my return did not require a receipt because they can locate the purchase through their system.
the only negative i had was the wait online took a little while because with only two cashiers they were having customers sign up for the reward program which if you are not computer savvy can take you few more minutes. But when it was my turn i was greeted with a smile at the register and the lady was very friendly.

The offerings exceed what can be found in Manhattan and the staff… For the most part… Are nice. Of course I got the haughty one who tried to school me on something stupir, but that aside, The Container Store has it all. Mind you, not cheap and if it’s storage containers you’re after, go to Target and compare I found exactly what I bought {size and quality wise) at Target for 50 percent less. I only needed one small box and at 2 bucks, I know it was overpriced. The store layout is great. Their Elfa and Metro shelving is phenomenal. Mine has lasted years and is easy to clean making it look just bought.

I thought that I was organized? HA! Not when I spent an hour wandering the aisles of this store and realized that my «organizing» needed «organizing» So many ideas! So many different products in every single shape, material, size and platform. It’s a lot of fun coming here. I always walk out with something. However most of the time I realize that the stuff I need to contain, should probably just be thrown out or given to charity.

We bought wall-​mounted Elfa shelves here. Sandy, our designer, helped us spec out the pieces and we received good service while in the store. The shelves were also available for pickup on schedule.
However, once we got the shelves and started putting them on the wall, we realized that they were cut-​to-​length in a very shoddy manner. The extra grill portions that were cut seemed to be simply snipped off with bolt cutters. The nubs were very sharp. Furthermore, two Elfa wire shelves were unable to share the same arm bracket because there wasn’t enough room in the bracket to accommodate for the poorly trimmed nubs, which stuck out.
A call to their Texas customer service center did yield us a $ 25 gift card. But in the end we had to use an angle grinder and our own labor to grind down the extra nubs on the shelves. Took perhaps an hour in a cold garage.

Great place and has everything you need for storage in your house. You will probably end up buying things you didn’t come in for because there is a lot of cool stuff that would make your life more organized.
They also have a service where you can re-​do your closet. This is one of the best things I have done since I bought my house. Once you give them the dimensions they have a computer program that re-​organizes your closets. The brand name is ELFA. My wife and I did it and a week later they came and installed it in my house. The man who came was friendly and professional.
We come back regularly when ever we need to organize something in the house. The only real downside to this place is it is located in one of the most congested places in Long Island. They recently built this new strip mall on Old Country Rd. in between Roosevelt Field and a Target. The parking lot is very congested so he careful.

Sure, Target might be cheaper. But I love to store things, and I love nice and neat containers. My wife and kids think I’m loopy.
Hoarder? Maybe. With all my containers. (Gollum voice) Precious…

First word of advice: If you are thinking of renovating, building storage, cleaning up that closet or kitchen, or simply need some ideas on how your place is SUPPOSED to look… take a walk through an IKEA or Container Store. Find what you are looking for and then price match it with other stores or online sellers.
As with any Container Store, this place is super organized and clean. There are lots of options (almost too many) for storage and the staff is very helpful in helping to design the perfect storage space. If necessary, they will help you map out the designs and answer any questions about space and shelving. You will find some exclusive items (like the flip and Fold or the Pivot Power Surge Protector) in stock and they have great layouts for kitchen storage built into the walls on the left side of the store so you can visualize your perfect space.
The prices can be a little out of touch in some cases (elfa shelf systems can stretch into the thousands… rubbermaid makes that same for a fraction of the price) but there are some very stylish items that will really spruce up your décor.
AGAIN…you will find things in here that you may not have seen anywhere else. Hit your smart phone and check online for a price match before you roll that cart to the register and over pay. Container Store has it all… but watch your wallet. You WILL over spend in here.

For those who don’t know — The Container Store is the best place to get all the different types of baskets, bins, & buckets you could imagine. How can you not love that?
This location is no different than any of the other Container Stores when it comes to stock, what makes it different it the layout. The store is designed in a giant U, with the doors up front and the cash registers right in the middle. While I found the baskets I was looking for it took me a little longer than I think it would have taken in either of the Manhattan stores, but the staff on the floor was helpful and pointed me in the right direction.
Overall the store is clean /​organized & well stocked. It’s location, right in the new Westbury Commons plaza, has plenty of parking and is easy to get to. And did I mention its right next door to Trader Joe’s? B/​c it is. :-) Two of my favorite stores right next to each other? Love it.

Let me start off by saying I LOVE containers, and storage, and all things alike! I had only been to one of these once before but it was the small outlet center version. This location is HUGE. To the left is everything you could need to store your kitchen supplies (or body parts) and to the right is your closet’s BFF.
Everything is very neat and organized (for now). The prices are right. The staff is friendly and helpful. And they have multiple styles of each item. So you didn’t like that wine rack? Here’s 10 more in different styles.
They also offer a registry. In-​store pick-​up is via a touch screen right when you walk in. Just lovely. I can’t wait to return and blow part of my paycheck on storage supplies.
