Fluffy friends are always welcome in store. Many times there will be another customer in store with their friend, we love hanging out and talking shop.

Established in 2011.

ZipPet was founded with the belief that local business is superior to big chain stores. We Can compete on price, most importantly we compete with care, and knowledge, missing from big box stores.

I started in this business around the age of 14 & loved that I could spend many times, hours hanging out with the owners of small independent shops talking pets. I gained tremendous knowledge because of this. Most of this camaraderie & knowledge sharing is missing today, because of the big box stores, where you’re just a number #.

ZipPet was also born out of the necessity for some customers who need local white glove delivery of their pet products.

Yes you can shop online & have items shipped, but is the package handler who has nothing to do with the sale of the product interested in handling your product with care? What if you changed your mind & don’t need the product or wrong item was sent?

We deliver locally to your door & hand you, your product.

I started out in this business at the age of 14, and have loved pets from day one.

I have had dogs, birds, fish, reptiles. I have bred countless species of fish, & some birds.

Have done some basic dog training. Pets are usually friendly with me from the onset, basically in my humble opinion, because they know I love & respect them.

I was looking for a place that carried my dogs brand of food. I called Zip Pet and was told that they did not carry that brand because it was subpar. I took a little offense to this because I thought the good was a healthy choice. I was told to check out a website
or something along those lines to see for myself. After the call I checked the website and found that this man at zip pet was right! I decided to head on over and had a nice convo with the owner Joe who told me about proper food and answered all my questions. He then have me several samples of foods for my dog to try so I could find the best fit. Definitely go and buy your dogs food from Joe; your dog will thank you.

It’s been a year or more, I still buy from Joe. Since my review I also got a dog. I got some canned dog food from Joe (again, stocked up so it was a few cases) and my dog didn’t agree with it. After a month or so I asked if I can exchange it for other food and he let me no problem.
I also got to see the store itself. A very cute setup. It’s small but has everything I needed and as I said before, Joe custom orders anything he doesn’t carry.
I hope he continues to do well.

Yes, as good as it gets. The best service you could ever expect from a pet store – with expert knowledge of what kind of food is best for your critter. I have been going to Joe’s for over a year and every visit exceeds the later. Good job Joe. Keep it up. We love having you in the area.

I LOVE this store! The owner Joe is extremely knowledgeable about products and ingredients, and he will take his time to educate you so you know what’s best for your pet. Plus, he’s as nice and trustworthy as they come. Although the store is small, he stocks only top quality stuff and it’s all very reasonably priced, so you really can’t go wrong.

I stopped by Joe’s store after we exchanged some messages online, asking him about an specific brand of cat food that I was looking for. Joe responded very quick to my inquiries and told me to come in for dry food samples on the brands he was recommending me.
The store is quite cozy, have a limited selection of pet supplies but they are all of very high quality*: Tiki cat, Innova EVO, Weruva, Taste of the Wild (which cover art reminds me of some 70’s game room…), Wellness, etc.
Joe delivers orders of $ 50 or more, at selected areas of Queens. And you can pay in cash or credit/​debit when he delivers to you. This is very convenient for me since Joe can deliver after my work and I wouldn’t have to worry about the package sitting outside my door.

Zip Pet offers amazing service – the owner is very knowledgeable and delivered even in the horrible snow we had. He and my boyfriend had a very long discussion about healthful dog food options, and we even got some rabbit dog treats for free!

This is by far one of the best pet stores in town. Joe is the owner operator of this tiny but VERY well stocked store for all your pet needs. His prices are the best and he goes out of his way to ensure that you get the best quality and prices for your pets food, treats etc. He will even order supplies should he not have them in stock… pronto! Just love the store, his interest and love for animals combined with his easy manner makes this store stand out. For all you pet lovers out there… visit Zip Pet and you will neverr want to go anywhere else!

I ventured to this little store because it’s very close to my home, with the intention of picking up a bag of treats for my pooch. It’s very tiny, but well stocked. The layout doesn’t feel cramped at all but I wouldn’t want to be there if there were more than 2 or 3 people in there.
The stock is all high quality food and treats. There’s also a decent amount of toys The prices are very reasonable and I left there with more than I intended to buy.
The owner is a very personable man, and was very interested in my dog, who was with me. We discussed treats and food, I felt zero pressure to buy anything, but happily did.
They also deliver, there’s a little smart car outside with the store logo on the back.
It’s location is great of you’re on Upper Ditmars and can’t make it to the more populated areas to shop. They have lots of goodies. What a cute little find!
