Voi Salon and Spa

it’s a shame but this truly is the worst salon I have ever been to. Check out Facebook reviews. There are more recent ones on there. They robbed me of my money and would not fix my hair. The stylist said «sorry it happens but I have other clients you need to leave» then she asked me for a tip!!! I went to the owner I think his name is Michael. He asked me to leave his salon and get my hair done somewhere else :(so upset! I hope this saves someone from going since I had to waste so much money.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The arrogance of the staff is appalling, considering they are in the graveyard of strip malls in this town. I mistakenly brought a friend in, thinking they could handle half a head of highlights. Clearly, I was mistaken and have never felt worse about a recommendation in my life.
Stay away! For what they charge, you can basically go anywhere. It is not worth your time or money to come here, considering they were ignorant enough to fail at highlights and had the audacity to suggest it was my friends fault for not paying them an extra $ 20 (on top of the $ 130 she paid for HALF a head). I’m not really sure why they charge extra to do the ion correctly, but hey, that’s their logic.

I made an appointment here looking to find a new salon and for a correction on my previous highlights. I had an orange tone I needed to get rid of and spoke to Michael, the owner, expressing my needs. He promised he would make sure I had someone who knew what they were doing. I came in and was not asked what I needed or wanted which I was fine with since I spent 15 minutes on the phone with Michael– I figured he spoke to the stylist.
To make a long story short, after almost 4 hours for just a partial (I had to cancel my plans that night), my hair came out white and extremely orange on the top, more than when I came into the salon that morning. All she did was put bleach over it. In passing, she asked if I have ever gotten lowlights, and I said yes, but that was the extent of the conversation. She told me she had no time to fix it when I told her the orange was enhanced. Needless to say, I left the salon crying after being charged $ 130. Later on, I called and asked to speak to Michael again and he said he would open the store for me, fix my hair, & give me a full refund. I rushed there Monday after work, and the stylist who was supposed to be doing my hair was cutting someone else’s. Michael then said to me that the salon did nothing wrong, that it was the previous salon who messed it up. He said he would not refund me any money and would not fix my hair that day, that I had to make an appointment some other time. He said «if you just paid the extra $ 20 for lowlights like we told you to, you would be fine. At least it looks better than when you came in» they never told me it was a necessity and kept me sitting in a chair for 40 mins while the stylist did a cut and blowout on someone else. I was so upset (again) that I left. I called again a day later to make my apt. He said he doesn’t know when anyone would be available to fix it– I said I did not want my hair to look like this for the holidays. I then asked if he would please just refund me my money so I could go get it done somewhere else ASAP. He said «absolutely not» and to «go waste more money somewhere else.»
I had another salon take me right away and they fixed everything for me and didn’t charge me at all. Looking at all of the new bleach in my hair, they said it was clear that all of the mismatch and damage was from Voi and couldn’t believe what they did.

I travel for work so often I have to find new salons to get my hair done. I recently went to Voi Salon and Melissa did my haircut and highlights. I was so impressed by how she took her time and did such a fabulous job on my hair! She is the sweetest girl and she made my first experience with Voi so enjoyable. I travel to to major cities such as NYC, Miami, Toronto, Atlanta and others where I have had to use salons and She did a better job than any of the big city salons. I will absolutely be back again. The salon manager was also very nice and helpful. I called several salons on a Monday, when most are closed leaving messages saying I was hoping to get an appt. that week, he was the ONLY one to return my call and then made the effort to work with the schedule to get me in the next evening! Customer service goes a long way for me and he absolutely showed it.
The only concern I want to mention was my perception of the building pulling in. It looked somewhat damaged and like several of the businesses had moved out. I found out that this was because this area was hit hard by
Hurricane Sandy. I only mention this so that others don’t judge the whole plaza without knowing. Excellent service, prices and people!

This was my first time at the salon but it was recommended by a friend. I absolutely loved every bit of my visit, and both Naomi (styliist) and Michael (owner) went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. I made a special request for a private room and they were more than happy to oblige. My hair looks and feels wonderful, and I will definitely be back soon.

I needed to get base color plus a full head of highlights — so I started digging around online to find a local salon that seemed competent to do this. I’ve tried so many salons all the way to Staten Island and have found so many disappointments. My hair is very picky when it comes to stylists, so I searched around and read the reviews of a few places I never tried out.
To the previous reviewers who said some negative comments about Michael, the owner of this place… I’m really glad I didn’t let your reviews affect my decision in trying this place out. Michael was very nice and very well spoken. I called to make an appointment and asked him for availability along with pricing. He gave me both and a few minutes later, I was on my way to try them out.
Niomi was the stylist that he set me up with. She was very experienced and extremely friendly along with professional. She was patient with me and took her time in perfecting the color I asked for along with the blonde highlights I was aiming to achieve. She spent probably a good 5 hours on me, which included a blow out as well. Pricing was average compared to most salons I’ve been to, but as I say quality over quantity. You get what you pay for and I can honestly say try this place out, and you’ll get what you ask for.

It’s really unfortunate the man at the reception desk was so rude and miserable. I was here once a few months ago, I wrote a review in Sept. My interaction with him was mediocre at best. But Melissa was worth it. She highlighted and cut my hair it was awesome! I’ve just moved to town and was so happy with it! It grew out so well. I called back to make a second appointment with her, and Micael who I spoke with over the phone was SO rude. I will not be back, which is so sad because Melissa was amazing. :(

I should have known not to go by the way my request for an appointment went. The receptionist was rude and didn’t even put the call on hold when she went to ask the stylist a question.
I had a groupon for a conditioning treatment, haircut and blow dry. I arrived 10 minutes early and they finally took me one hour later. My haircut was horrible and I was very disappointed. I have to go get another cut to fix this cut. I went to Jessica who claimed to have 20 years of experience but I don’t believe it.
The salon was empty and cold, staff rude and inattentive. No idea why I had to wait for an hour to get done. Never going back.

Honestly, I am very picky when it comes to salons. Noemi did a fabulous job and the owner, Michael is a sweet heart! They were very accommodating to my needs and I would definitely recommend and will be coming back here in the near future!

Worst haircut by Melissa, explained exactly what I wanted, she had no clue. Cut my hair once wet and full cut again dry hair. Simple long to short. What a disaster. And Michael shame on you for mot returning my call to correct this mess ! Btw all of the 4+ star reviews are from employees and family and friends.

Great salon! Jess is awesome and has been doing my hair for over ten years! I have never had a cut or highlights that I didn’t love! Everyone is friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Voi salon and Jess to anyone.

Did your swag grow out? Melissa at Voi will bring you back right! Great hair wash and massage. Took her time cutting my hair. Did some layers and got rid of «bulk». Evened out my bob cut! Love her!

Great salon, every time I go there my hair comes out perfect, the staff is extremely nice, the place is spotless clean, the prices are fair and there is always a discount for something! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Darlene, unfortunate can’t recreate a hair cut or style from a photo. My husband hair was all murdered, is officially his worst hair cut ever, is not even close to what we ask for, he’s very depress right now.

Recently relocated so I thought I would give this place a try after looking for a permanent hair salon. Let’s just say I found my place. Justine did my color and cut, she was professional, pleasant, and knew what she was doing. She really took her time with me, listened to what I wanted and suggested ways in which she can make it happen. Did not feel rushed and/​or that they were annoyed with my questions and requests. I was hesitant since this was my first time there so I wanted to make sure they understood what I wanted and imagined. My hair looks and feels great. I will be coming back for sure, thank you Justine and Voi!

Went here to follow my stylist, Ron, from New Brunswick. Leaps and bounds better than his last place. Even the shampooing before the haircut took all my stress away. And Ron still has it! My girlfriend loved my haircut the moment I got out of the chair. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere.

I got the best cut/​color of my life at Voi with John. I’m usually pretty adventurous when it comes to getting my hair done and I heard good things about this place so I decided to give it a try. As soon as I got there they were so friendly and accommodating. John sat down with me before even touching my hair to discuss exactly what I wanted. We went over pictures on my phone that I had brought with me and he offered his suggestions as well. He was in no way pushy but just listened to what I had to say and offered his own opinion. I got my hair ombré lightened which is a very specialized process and he really took his time. He even went back after finishing my hair to add a few more highlights when we both agreed it was needed. I really felt that he took the time to make sure I was happy with the look. I would recommend him and the salon to anyone!
