Spinelli Bakery Ravioli & Pastry Shop

I’ve ordered a few cakes from this location before and my most recent purchase was a cake for my baby shower.
By far it was the most beautiful cake I’ve bought! I was very impressed with the amount of detail, the taste, and presentation.
Everyone at the shower loved it and I couldn’t have been anymore happier!

Been going here since I was four years old. Literally!
I especially love there lunch buffets that they serve on the weekdays. Do yourself a favor and get the chicken ziti broccoli alfredo. You’ll never have a better alfredo after eating thiers! I would know, I’ve been eating it for 10+ years.
Their customer service is excellent and I could go on and on about there pastries but that would ruin all the fun! Stop reading my post and run to Spinellis for some good ol’ Italian fare. You will not regret it!

The bakery is pretty good, unfortunately our experience with the food was poor.
The staff is pretty friendly, even if they aren’t the most efficient.
The gf loves their cannolis and the cake is decent. However, we got takeout today and got pretty poor service. Ordered chicken cacciatore and ravioli with sausage. Ended up getting chicken parm and ravioli with no sausage. On top of all of that, the food was cold! Raviolis was a little flavorless, needed salt or perhaps sausage! I expected a lot more after paying $ 30. Unfortunately, we didn’t know any of this until we opened the food up at home.
They weren’t even busy. Don’t understand how both entrees could be wrong.
I’d recommend sticking to the local dives in the area like Jalisco’s or Rino’s.

I was checking out some food spots around East Boston one day and stopped in here to try their cannoli. I do a food tour in Boston and I must say their canolli was up there with the best. I prefer when bakeries don’t fill the cannoli shell until you buy it, but despite that it was superb.

Absolutely delicious desserts. I tried the cannoli both white and chocolate, carrot cake, and the Tiramisu.

This place seriously make me question what I thought Italian food was supposed to be. I’ve seen white Marsala sauce, mushy dredged chicken (almost to the extent of Chinese chicken fingers where the flour is more than the chicken) and probably the worst chicken francaise I’ve ever had (it was oily, no presence of lemon and may or may not have had wine in it).
Honestly just make your own food

Every item I have purchased from Spinelli’s has been great! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. It’s always good! From the rice Balls to the cannoli it’s all perfection! I’ve used their delivery service for parties and business meetings/​functions all with rave reviews! The staff is great and there is never a long wait. It’s my go to bakery.

Was at Spinelli’s for an event. I’m giving them 2 stars for tasty food, but my issue is: My son is allergic to nuts. At the end of the meal, they gave us a piece of cake. When we asked if the cake had nuts, they said, «There may be traces of nuts. I’ll take that from you.» She took the cake from him, and NEVER brought an alternate dessert. I’m pretty sure they can afford to BUY desserts to serve when someone has an allergy. My son had to watch 120 people eat their desserts. Epic fail.

went there for some pastries three days ago as soon as I walked in I was tying to figure out what I wanted but there was no sign tags or prices on the pastries so I said that’s fine, I started pointing the pastries that I wanted to the lady since I don’t know all pastry names (I am not a pastry chef and I am not Italian) she started yelling YOU KEEP POINTING THROUGH THE GLASS HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO KNOW WHAT YOU WANT! I tried to be calm and said to my self maybe she is having a bad day but is there another option besides pointing through the glass?! write a sign by the door out saying if you don’t know the names of our pastries don’t come in or else you will be yelled at! it’s 2015 having signs and a great customer service is a must! and NO I am not going back to be yelled at like a kid again!

If you haven’t had Spinelli’s food, you’re missing out. Their sheet pan pizza is a great and economical solution for a gathering, as it’s easy to cut and reheat to serve as apps. Their chicken, ziti & broccoli, sausage, peppers & potatoes, and other dishes are staples for our family gatherings that we need catered. Highly recommend.

We were looking to pick up a snack and some go food before our flight– a friend recommended Spinellis. What a treat! Fantastic, authentic Italian cuisine and desserts. I had the meat and rice ball covered in sauce (delicious) and the chicken broccoli ziti to go. Pastries were out of this world! The staff was extremely helpful and talkative.

I am not a big fan of their cakes, too much «cream» I guess. Please note: I only tried a few items this might not be the case for most of their cakes.
However, I adore their mini mousse cake, their tiramisu and their cookies.

I love all of their food items, I tried most of them. However, my go to items are: the spinach rice ball, their cheese pizza, and their salads. YUMMM!!!

I have been going to Spinelli’s for years. Less frequently over time which is telltale.. The quality of the food used to be great. Ever since they opened a store on Rte 1 things have gone downward. Recently I went hoping the quality had returned but it was not to be. Spent over $ 80 on a tray of lasagna, chicken marsalas, bread and some meatballs. The meatballs were fair. The lasagna was uneatable. I ended up throwing out both the lasagna and chicken marsalas. The lasagna was completely runny. You could not carve out a piece but had to scoop it out. I tried firming it up by cooking it longer but it did not work and I ended up tossing it. Even the loaf of Italian bread seemed stale. I no longer am going to hold out hope they are going to turn things around. My server was fantastic but others were not attentive. As a bunch of new customers waited another server texted away unconcerned.

Well, I didn’t technically go myself. Upon my request my husband stopped in on his way home from work to grab me a cannoli to lull the craving I had been having for a week. He texted me to let me know they were making them fresh while he waited. Soon he returned home with one dozen delicious mini treats. I have yet to try modern pastry but until I do, spinellis is where I’ll be getting my cannoli fix.

I’ve walked by many times and all the pastries looked amazing. Today I finally went in and bought a piece of Oreo cheesecake since it looked yummy! When I got it home and finally tried it it tasted like it had been sitting there for a month! The sides were hard. Lacked flavour. I ended up taking 2 bites and throwing it out. I won’t go back

Absolutely love this place! They have the Best Cheesecake. They also have amazing Tiramisu, I can’t get it anywhere else. If you want a delicious and fresh cake, Spinellis is the place to go :)

Absolutely love this place, been coming here since I was little. Best arancinis in Boston (much better than the ones in the North End in my opinion). I wish they had some outdoor seating. Their cakes are excellent as well. The place is a little pricey, but this is one of those times where I don’t mind paying a little more for better quality food. So good!

Really good food but not the best service. It seemed as they didn’t know what to do when more than 3 guests were at the counter.

Spinelli’s is located in East Boston and has been catering events for decades. I have attended numerous events catered by Spinelli’s but am going to comment mostly on their pastries.
Spinelli’s offers a variety of Italian pastries including cannolis, lobster tails, and cookies. The cannolis are pretty good but not up to the standard of many of the North End bakeries. They use real ricotta filling but the flavor is a bit too heavy with citrus (in particular orange) and a little too sweet. The cannoli shells are perfect however: crispy and sweet. The lobster tails at Spinelli’s are great. Stuffed with a lighter cream filling, the lobster tails are large and generously filled. Spinelli’s cookies are good with a variety of Italian classics including macaroons.
Briefly, the pasta entrees from Spinelli’s are ok. The marinara sauce is good but can get watery when they do not drain the water completely. The pasta with chicken and broccoli if good but a little oily.
Overall, Spinelli’s offer a reasonable selection of options when it comes to entrees and pastries for catering. The pastries are good but only ok if you are used to North End quality Italian baked goods.

This bakery/​café is just down the street from where I usually gas up to take the rental car back to the Boston airport. I went in, barely holding back my tears and said, «What do you recommend for a mom who has just left her only child off at his Freshman year of college?» After hugs and cries of sympathy, the Strawberry Cheesecake was prescribed. And it was very good strawberry cheesecake!
Cute place. I’ll be back and try some of their dishes. smelled delectable in there — mmmm… garlic!
