I like this place. The food is great. Its fantastic, even. But they take so long to deliver food to you, it is cold and stiff before it gets to you. If they are going to accept delivery orders, only being able to deliver food an hour and a half later, soggy/stiff and cold isn’t acceptable, especially at this price point. If they were take out only they would get 4 stars, but I have gotten crappy food from them too many times. They don’t know how to handle the volume of orders they get. Quick tip: ask how long delivery is going to take before you order. If it is longer than an hour don’t bother. Last time they told me an hour and it was an hour forty five before my soggy cold sandwich showed up.

Classic East Boston hole in the wall sandwich shop… the Pizza is very tasty. Go with the grilled cajun chicken sub, it’s off the charts. Don’t forget to finish it off with a delicious(warm) homemade chocolate chip cookie.

Dough has great food ! Try the chicken little with blue cheese instead of ranch, the blackened chicken pasta, and cajun chicken cheese steak, don’t forget an amazing cookie for dessert

Wow I am SO happy we decided to order from Dough. First of all Mike the owner was a pleasure to place my order with, so friendly and gave me an AWESOME recommendation on what pizza to get(wasn’t on the menu… more to come on that). What a great first impression… thanks Mike! So we ordered a few things(no sandwich for these first timers) but mike suggested we try their Dough-catta pizza special(sorry if that’s misspelled but that’s what it sounded like over the phone). OHMYGOSH! Soooo good… I was sold when he mentioned that arugula was one of the toppings. Hands down MUCH better than the santarpios! Thanks mike for the suggestion! We loved it! Food was delivered within the 45 min time frame they said it would be, and it was still warm and delicious as ever! Will definitely be ordering again! Looking forward to trying other menu items!

Great Unilocal reviews brought me here while I was walking back to Maverick station. I wouldn’t have found this place without the help of the Unilocal map. The staff was super cool and a lady who must have been a local kept insisting to me that everything on the menu is great. I went with the Phantom because it seemed simple enough and I wasn’t really expecting to be blown away. Panini’s usually don’t do much for me but this was made with care and the pesto mayo on it was delicious. Needless to say, it was pretty amazing and if I find myself back in East Boston I will be back to try some more of their massive menu!

Great food and open late! All the sandwiches are amazing especially the Vermonter. The shrimp & corn chowder is awesome!

Their flavor combinations are inventive and tasty, but I find their style of cooking too, well, doughy. Everything they serve, from the pizza to the sandwiches to the fries to the cookies, is under-cooked and kind of wet. It’s gross, and very disappointing because I think if they just cooked everything a bit longer, it would be beautiful!

Editing my post. Walking in vs delivery is way better! The owners are very friendly and welcoming. It’s a much different experience when you can come in and check out their little joint. Clean neat setting. Ordered the Vermonter and chicken cheese steak as recommended on phantom gourmet. Very delicious. I will be coming back to try their numerous sandwiches. I’ve always supported small businesses and will do so with them too after my mishaps. They are very appreciative of their customers and actually care to fix things. Thank you guys! I gave them another chance and it was way worth it!

Great veggie burger. Had a nice talk with the owner about the phish posters on the wall(a large Bernie Sanders sticker too). But yeah, great veggie burger.

Friendly service, great food. Not a lot of tables for sitting, more of a pickup place. I’m a vegetarian and love the Hippy Reuben(tofu) and the Lyla pizza. Potato and sweet potato fries are good too. Meat eaters I’ve gone with like the border street, the Reuben and the boneless buffalo wings. They always have funky music on and tasty freshly baked giant cookies.

I’ve ordered a number of times from here, and all things have been good, but there is ONETHINGTHAT I LOVE — the Thanksgiving Sandwich special! I’ve ordered these from numerous places and this is one of the best; its not a hot sandwich and there is no gravy but the cranberry mayo and stuffing makes it fantastic! its one of the best thanksgiving sandwiches I’ve had — aside from the ones I make myself the day after, ha.

If I could leave ten stars I would. This is a hidden gem. My husband and I drive 30 minutes just to get sandwiches here. The Vermonter is my favorite sandwich of all time, hands down. You can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches. There is a great park to eat at down the street with views of the city.

Looking for a small place to be a regular, look no further. Dough is my number 1 place in Eastie. I went through a faze where I ordered delivery from here so much they knew my order by my voice. The Vermonter is my favorite. The salads are also tasty and very large. If you stop by make sure to ask about their smores cookies, they’re life changing. The owners are really cool and laid back. Their is a new cashier, shes the only woman there I believe, shes not the nicest but if you order quick and know what you’re getting she’s not too bad. You cant go wrong with this menu. My boyfriend and his friends try new sandwiches on every visit and have yet to be disappointed. I also recommend the sweet potato fries, they come with this spicy sauce that’s delicious.

Dough is a great spot! The food is always good, especially the sandwiches. They have some really good veggie options! They have great service too. Everyone behind the counter is friendly and funny. And you gotta love when they throw in a pickle with your order!

Amaaazing sandwiches. Although the size of the menu is a bit overwhelming, you will be satisfied with anything that you order. The portions are all massive, and the quality of the food is delicious. You are definitely getting your money’s worth of food here.

I arrived at the airport only to find my flight had been delayed an hour. Instead of eating some crappy overpriced airport food, my friend swept me away to Eastie to this awesome spot. The restaurant is in an odd spot, at the corner of kind of shady and kind of suburban. Upon entering, one of the owners at the register greeted us and started to tell us about the specials and some of the most popular items. Apparently they’re known for their sandwiches(but the menu also has pastas, pizzas, salads). We ended up splitting the Vermonter and the Cajun Chicken Cheese Steak. Both were seriously great. The apples on the Vermonter were a nice touch and the spices on the Cajun Chicken really hit the spot. Sandwiches were priced well, and included chips and a pickle. Everything was really fresh too(apparently, they go out and buy fresh ingredients daily) If I hadn’t just moved across the country I’d totally come back and sample the other like 20+ sandwiches on the menu. Also, it was great to that the owner was both present and super friendly.

The Vermonter was so good. Unexpected ingredients that came together beautifully! The Cajun chicken was a little too peppery for my liking. The Hawaiian pizza was great and I usually don’t like Hawaiian pizzas, but the coconut was an interesting touch. Didn’t really care for the Z berg at all. Delivery time was a little slow compared to what I got used to in Boston, but still within reason.

Friendly service and great food! Specially sandwiches are an excellent addition to any good sandwich shop! daily specials, wings, pasta, salads and even soups! I wish they had a TV and a few more lighter/healthier options, though.

I’ve had their reuben and special sandwich of the day. I wouldn’t recommend ordering take out, as their bread tends to get soggy fast. Otherwise, they load them with meat and are satisfying. They are also really fast, so this is a good place to go grab a quick sandwich on the go. Also, there is a great view of the Boston skyline one block away.

I found this place by simply googling pizza places in east boston. The«something different» section on the menu stood out to me because everything seemed so unique and different. This particular night I ordered the Atta Boy Blue Sandwich, this was the most perfect sandwich I had ever had. It had turkey, bacon, caramelized onion, spinach, blue cheese dressing and cranberry mayo on multigrain and to top it off they press the sandwich. I love it!!! Warm and delicious. I also ordered the Hawaiian pizza only because there was a limit for delivery. I’m glad I did… I’ve had Hawaiian pizza before but never with the addition of coconut. It was different and delicious. Since then I’ve also ordered the: Vermonter Sandwich — delicious not sure if I can choose between it and atta boy blue as a fave. Cajun Chicken Cheese Steak– Phantom Gourmet’s dish worth driving to–(my boyfriend had this… He loved it) Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich — good (Homemade) Veggie Burger — good Poutine Fries– delicious Fried Ravioli– good and the Backyard BBQ pizza– delicious So far I have yet to order anything I didn’t like. As a matter of fact I’m going to look on the menu to see whats my next«something different» that I will order. The service is good and they are always polite over the phone. A couple of times it took a little bit longer than usual for my food to be delivered. But every time it was still warm and delicious so I can’t even be mad because sometimes good things just take time and are worth the wait.
