Grill Kabob Buffalo

Casual dining with many tandoori menu items and curries.
While visiting family in Buffalo, i stopped in for a small snack of falafel and hummus.
Let me say that their Nan is probably the best I have ever had. (I frequent Pakistani and Indian restaurants in LA, so I have had a variety). They have a clay oven and they make it fresh, and you can definitely tell.
We were on our way to have some dinner elsewhere, so we didn’t get the opportunity to eat curry or one of their shwarma sandwiches… I hope to have a chance in the future.
Anyway, don’t miss this little gem if you are in East Amherst (Buffalo).

A big disappointment. We went on a Saturday around 6:00 PM to try the dinner buffet.
First thing we noticed was that the «cold» buffet with fresh fruit shown on the website was non-​existent. The cold side had a couple of sauces but there was no fruit, no salad greens, nothing.
The «hot» buffet was not hot, it was barely warm. All the dishes had kind of the same taste to them and it wasn’t very compelling. The only thing I could stand getting seconds of was the chicken karahi, which was bone-​in. All of the chicken dishes were bone-​in which really detracts from a dish that has any sauce involved. Chicken Tandoori with bone in is fine, straining out bits of bone hiding in a sauce is another story.
The naan bread was fresh and tasted great. It was the high point of the meal. Unfortunately, we were only brought out one serving of it.
We are not new to Indian/​Pakistani food, we have it quite often. Of all of the Indian/​Pakistani restaurants we’ve been to in the Western New York area, this was the most disappointing.
The final nail in the coffin for Grill Kabob was that they overcharged us. Their website advertised $ 12.99 as the dinner buffet price. The sign at the buffet even said $ 12.99. We were charged $ 14.99! I didn’t even bother to say anything because I knew we would never be back.
Spend your money elsewhere. We certainly will.

Worst place to have food, biryani was white rice with some colour on the top, nothing fresh. I would not recommended this place even to my enemies, over all it’s 0 on 100. Please don’t go here if you are looking for Indian food

For the price just go to tandoori’s… no flavor what so ever. I damn near had to drench with hot sauce to barely enjoy. What a waist…

One letter makes all the difference. Were this place called «Grill KY Bob», it’d be an obese man named Bob making BBQ on a backyard grill in Lexington KY. Well thank heavens it’s Grill Kabob instead.
This Pakistani place has the best tasting British-​Indian style curry in the US, It would be one of the best ones in the UK, were it there. It’s that good.
It’s a shame that most of WNY hasn’t tasted it. You simply must.
What to get: Chicken Karahi (double rice, no naan).
Also good: Banana Lassi, Kebabs.
I’ve been here over 10 times. It’s *all* about the Chicken Karahi. Skip the kebabs for now, skip your doubts, make the trek up here, do it. Order the Karahi. Then we’ll talk. It’s *by far* WNY’s best curry. Also, I had a Banana Shake. A Lassi, rather. It’s a drink, not a Collie Dog. Very yogurt-​y but absolutely delicious. I recommend you try it. Mango is next on my list to try.
So one day, I finally got around to trying Grill Kabob. I admit, the prices are high. I see a 3 star review calling it «the ultimate» but only gives 3 stars because of prices. Shame, because if you know what to order here (Karahi), and want the most delicious curry imaginable, your world will be rocked. And oh how mine was rocked. If it were $ 7-​$ 10 for a Karahi, I’d eat here weekly. No sh**.
Starting with the lesser lights of the menu. The kebab platter #13 ($ 17) comes with 4 types of kebab. The Beef Shish & Beef Sheekh are good. The Chicken Shish is very good. The Chicken Seekh is extremely good. All are nice, juicy and if you order them spicy, they will be. Both chicken kebabs are better than the beef versions. But I didn’t come here for Kebab.
The Naan bread is very bland and forgettable. You get Naan and rice with every entrée. But I didn’t come here for the Naan.
Get double rice instead. The rice is healthy, spiced and delicious brown basmati rice. It’s the best rice in WNY. The portion is too small, unfortunately. You may need extra. But I didn’t come here for the rice.
Now let me tell you what I did come here for. It’s called *Chicken Karahi*. Oh my effing goodness, oh my word, oh my oh my, have you been to the UK? Well, see, in England, at Pakistani places like Akbar’s (Bradford, Mcr, B’ham, etc) and Tayyab’s (Whitechapel — home of Jack The Ripper– in East London, before it got bland), the Chicken Karahis and Madrases are out of this world. The curries over here in the USA are incomparably inferior.
But this is unprecedented. The Chicken Karahi here is *as good as* the ones in England. As good as Akbar’s. As good as Tayyab’s used to be. Yes, I said it. It is so good I had it 3 times in 3 days when I first discovered it. But was since priced out of such indulgence and folly. It’s literally the best curry you will ever taste in N. America. It is that good. Memo to Biryani Cart NYC, and India On Wheels of Pitt. You have competition now.
The first time, it came with bones in the chicken (which I don’t like, although it’s more authentic that way). But it was so good I didn’t care. Later, I got it without bones. But that stopped working out for me (more on that later), so now I get it with bones. I used to cut the chicken into pieces, let it soak in the curry for 12 hrs, then heat it (I hate microwaves but they’re better for curries, you don’t lose oil or moisture that way), so the chicken tastes more tender and curryishical. These days I eat it right away. Sometimes even hours later, fridge-​cold — it’s still amazing. But it’s best when it’s hot and fresh, of course.
Mild, medium or hot? Get hot, it’s not too hot and adds a lot of flavour.
But yes: oily, dreamy, spiced, chillied, cilantro’d, making-up-words’d perfection. I’ll go out on 2 or 3 limbs (distribute the weight so as not to hurt the tree), and say it’s USA’s best. Nay, North America’s best. Really, it’s off the charts, it’s a 10/​5, I love it, like Icona Pop loved it.
Also, for all the complaints about prices, they’re a bit steep, but the curry is worth $ 50, let alone $ 14. It’s that good.
Edit: I had a few bad experiences here, but things are much better now. I was asking for boneless chicken, but I think when you do that, they sometimes put chicken from a leftover dish in there, which alters the taste. So now I just suck it up (literally lol) and get it the way it comes, bone-​in, and it’s fantastic every time. I’m not into the bones but it’s worth it for the curry. And I’m no longer being overcharged for getting double rice instead of rice + naan, so I’m much happier about this place now. The only issue is that it’s $ 13 plus tax for my beloved curry (it comes out to 14.15 or so), and that’s just too much for me to eat here regularly, especially as it’s not very filling (the portion isn’t huge). But it tastes so divine, that it’s worth it.
So worth it that everyone in town needs to try this curry, asap.
Run, do not walk, to Grill Kabob. Order the Chicken Karahi. Don’t thank me. Thank Pakistan.

Nice place with nice food. We had lunch buffet. They pretty much have variety of options in buffet. Food here is far better than what is served at other indian restaurants in buffalo. I loved the C. biryani, kadai chicken, butter chicken, and spinach curry was just next to heaven. I wonder if the buffet lunch was so good then how awesome will be ala carte food. Owner of this plc is really nice. I recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Not many people know about this place. I will definitely visit this place again for sure.

Grill Kabob deserves a great review as the food here is truly spectacular. The rice and naan are the best i’ve had in the region. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Karahi (on the advice of Fox E.). Both dishes were prepared extremely well, generously portioned, and full of flavor. My review today is short one due to time considerations. However, I felt it unjust for these guys to have a 3 star Unilocal rating when they offer perhaps the best Indian /​Pakistani food in the region. Give Grill Kabob a try if you enjoy this type of cuisine. Have a family member or friend who doesn’t enjoy Indian/​Pakistani? Bring them anyways! Grill Kabob also offers subs, chicken fingers, and pizza so everyone can be fat and happy.

Food here is disappointing and not authentic and overpriced. It seems to be curry and tandoori mixed with Buffalo hot sauce. The rice is cooked in shortening and has a very strange taste. Does not taste like Indian or Pakistani rice. The naan has sesame seeds on top which gives it a strange flavor. I lived in New delhi for three years and never ate anything like this. I would not recommend to anyone considering that there are much better Indian restaurants in the area. Overpriced.

First time here and the gentleman that served us was extremely helpful in explaining items on the menu. This was very welcoming to the two of us who are newbies to this cuisine.
The place was bright, clean with plenty of seating. It looks like they serve a buffet at some point as well.
We had the 8 and 19. Chicken karahi, chicken seekh. and beef tikka Both were very good although I wished the chicken was boneless in the karahi.. Naan was just the right amount of soft and crisp.
We got both items mild cause we are wimps.
Overall it was good. Will be back to try some other items.

Good food!
The ambiance is a little sterile, and the food is definitely overpriced — but they had me at good food.
It’s never very busy in this restaurant but I’ve eaten here 3 times now and the food is always really tasty. They need to get the word out, I want this place to stick around. It’s hard to find good Indian food in this area.

We ordered chicken biryani with extra spicy and loved it. No other place carry such biryani in Buffalo.
Would definitely go again.

Excellent food. I really loved everything I ordered. The staff is friendly and provides excellent service. I specially liked the Seekh Kabob and Tikka. The dessert (Kheer) was awesome and just tasted like home made.
We also ordered a chicken tikka pizza (though it was not in menu but they customized it for us) and my daughter really loved it.
I would definitely recommend to friends and would come again.

I am so impressed. Initially I was skeptical but the place is simple with good food and not one of those fancy places where food isn’t good !!

The Food: The dinner entrée Seekh Kebabs I had were very good, but the waiter dropped my fathers entrée on the floor, and the tandoori wings i ordered came out as regular mild buffalo wings.
The lunch buffet: needs a lot of work. The salad bar option was bland, the lettuce was browning. Simple/​fresh would be a much better tactic.
Butter chicken and the other entrees tasted fine, but were not as tender or as flavorful as I expected. At such a high price for average indian food, I dont see the draw to going back here.

The Ultimate!:
I’ve tried the Chicken Seekh Kabob and Chicken Chapli Kabob and Samosa, they were all amazing with their fresh naan. Service was friendly and fast.
Serving Size:
I felt food is very pricey for the portion size I received.
They are charging $ 1.50 for single samosa and entrees I ordered each cost me $ 9.99, Portion size for each entrees was not sufficient for single person.
Overall Experience:
For food taste I rate this has 5 star.
For Service I rate this has 4 star
For Price and portion size I rate this has 3 star
I Will definitely be going back, if price was reasonable.

Finally I found place, which takes me back to India. It would be safe to say it is the best Indian/​Pakistani restaurant in town. If you are from the subcontinent and you are missing the food you get back at home, this is the place for you. If you’re someone who likes to have Indian food once in a while, this place wont disappoint you. And if you are someone who wants to try Kabobs for the first time, there couldn’t be a better place than this. I went in with a huge group of friends, and there were people from all the three categories I mentioned above and they all loved it.
The place has the most delicious and softest Naans, you must try them. Chicken Seekh Kabob and Kheer were amazing. The ambiance is clean and nice. The décor is a pretty cool, and prices are normal. You would have a great time.
