The Dosa Hut serves typical Indian cuisine– you’ve got your various curries, tikka masalas, breads, vegetables, fried appetizers, etc. I’ve been 4 times, and enjoyed every one of my meals. I had the namesake dosa last time, and it was also very good. If you’re not familiar, it’s like a giant crêpe stuffed with spiced potatoes. Delicious! Service was friendly too, they remembered me from my last visit which was appreciated. I am only in the area on occasion for business, but I recommend checking it out.

Food & Drink(4.0) Usually as an Indian I am very clingy to my favorite Indian restaurants(Aman’s Indian Bistro) because there are many bad places for Indian food, but this place could be a new favorite. As a drink my cousin and I went for Thumbs Up, an Indian coke made with cane sugar(taste like Mexican coke). For apps we got their chili paneer: crispy, and gravy was amazing. We also got the manchurian: it’s not the type of manchurian with gravy, it’s not wet but so good, the cauliflower was light and scrumptious. For the main course since I don’t like dosa, I got the paneer butter masala, great flavor thick gravy and paneer was great. Garlic naan was amazing, so flavorful, could eat that alone! The parents had dosa and they loved it, they said it was crispy and light. they were huge, but since they were so light they were able to finish it. *** Keep in mind, hot is spicy as sh1t!!!, I’d go for a medium if you can handle some heat and mild if not so much. Environment(3.0) Very cheap, mom-and-pop type restaurant. Not decorated well, but they food was the center price so that didn’t matter. Seating was enough for the size of the place. Also parking would’ve been hard to get if you came on a busy day.

Love the onion pakoras and the chicken 65 appetizers! The dosas are quite good and the Chana batura is a must try! The kothu porotta dish is really spicy(beware), but not the typical that I have tried. Service is decent, I have never had a bad experience here. My go-to south-indian veggie food spot in the area!

It must have been a good sign when all of the other tables were Indian in an Indian restaurant. I dined there last night for a quick meal with the wife after a long day at KOP. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. I just recently had Indian at another restaurant maybe 2 weeks ago and was very underwhelmed. The meal here was one of the better ones I’ve had in a while. Now, on to the food… I ordered a Mysore Masala Dosa(crêpe with a layer of spicy sauce, potatoes, and onions), Paneer Butter Masala(pieces of homemade cheese cooked in a rich, creamy tomato sauce), and a Garlic Chili Naan(fresh garlic, green chilies, and coriander seasoned bread). The dosa was maybe a little thicker than a French crêpe, but had a crisp, cracker-like exterior and was very large. Although the dosa hung way over the edge of the serving plate, it held its form throughout the meal without getting limp onto the table. It was folded into a triangle with a mound of spiced potatoes in the center and accompanied by a red sauce, a green sauce, and a soup. I emerald enjoyed this dish. The paneer dish was seasoned very well. I asked them to make it very spicy and they were hesitant at first, but complied. My spice tolerance is very high. It came out with a nice kick, but not anywhere near a ghost pepper or even a habanero level. The paneer was nice and firm and the sauce was thick and flavorful. Also comes with a bowl of white rice. The naan was freshly made as expected and had some heat due to the green chili. It was almost like a green Thai chili. This is the first time I’ve seen chili on a naan and think I will be having it this was from now on. The portions were generous and two hungry adults failed to finish the meal. We left with more than half the paneer and half the naan. I would come back.

Perfect spiciness! Not too much, not too little. We suggest the lassi drink, it’s a thin yogurt based drink, it calms the heat when you can’t stop eating the delicious food! Our large party ordered just appetizers and we had leftovers. The service was excellent and the orders were perfect, no mistakes. We basiclly tried one of every appetizer and everyone loved every single thing. I obviously can’t remember the names for everything, but it was helpful that there were a few people of Indian descent in our group to help everyone enjoy the dishes that weren’t obvious to figure out. Some needed sauce on top then eaten in one bite, others needed something spread on bread. Overall I can’t wait to go back with my mom because she’ll love the vegetarian options available. My dad will love it too because they can make most things without any spice at all.

I would recommend when coming here for the first time get a dosa… that is the whole point of the restaurant! Anyway I had a wonderful time here on a Monday evening with a very large group of people. The servers were very patient with us trying to put in multiple orders at different times since some of the party did not show up until later. Because the birthday girl was vegetarian all of the food was vegetarian so it could be passed around and shared. We had every appetizer that was vegetarian and they were all very delicious! Of course if you don’t like spicy food at all then this place will be difficult for you, but for someone like me who loves extra tang it was spot on. The paper dosa is very intimidating because of its size, however it is very, very thin and it is actually the potato inside that will fill you up. I would not recommend getting a dosa as take out if you never had a fresh one first only because I would be afraid it would get too soggy and you would dislike it. Beware! the red sauce that comes with your dosa is very spicy, and surprisingly the lentil soup that came with it I could not handle after eating all of the other spicy food. It is not a very big place so I would not expect to be able to bring the same group of people on a Friday or Saturday night. If you have any vegetarian friends/family(that you actually get along with) then this is a good place to go for everyone to find an enjoyable meal.

DONOTCOMEHERE– Dishonest Business We decided to check this place out because of its good reviews. I asked the waiter for a few suggestions, took his advice and he ended up bringing out ALL three dishes I asked about. I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking it was just a language barrier and miscommunication. He picked up our Naan basket without one word, bring back more Naan and charged us for two baskets. Without even asking! We wouldn’t mind paying for 3 meals but it’s the principle of doing business. Do not rip your customers off and you will get more business in the long run. This place is an authentic Indian place, it was all Indians in the restaurant and they took advantage of us because we are not familiar with the cuisine/language! HORRIBLEPLACE, do NOT come here unless you’re Indian or have Indian friends who will prevent these people from TAKINGADVANTAGE of you! Wish I could give this place negative stars!

Got my dosa to go, so it was not as fresh. But I was still pleasantly surprised. It adequately filled my South Indian food craving. The dosa came with sambar, chutney, and the spicy masala potatoes. If I ever want South Indian food again, I will come back. Prices are more expensive than the pictures show, beware!

Dosas are just ok. Nothing special But if you are a tamilian or an telugu person or love spicy chicken curry, do try chicken chettinadu curry! Its sooo authentic and is served with hot flavoured basmati rice(ask for ghee if u cant take spice) !!! U are insane if you crave homemade chicken curry in the US and still dont want to try it!

Ordered takeout from inside — asked the guys up front for a their recommendations. They were nice and hooked me up, sent with the chicken curry(medium). Loved the food, and service. PS medium was really spicy, and I like spicy, hot may be hard to enjoy.

Been here along with my Philly friends. We had a nice welcoming. Place is decent and ambience is fine for an indian restaurant like this. I’ve ordered a plain dosa and idly and methu vada. It took a while to prepare the food but not too much. Idly is okay and so tasty and could’ve been better. Chutneys are good enough but I’d appreciate if they could provide Peanut chutney. Dosa is as usual and very tasty. My friends tried Chana Bathura and Rava Dosa. All were very satisfied and prices also reasonable. Will look forward to come back.
