Promised Land Zoo

This was a great experience for the price. They offer a military discount as well. I’d agree with the review to allow about 30 minutes for the petting zoo at the beginning and about an hour for the drive. Perfect if you have a sunroof to stand up through and feed the animals, especially the Bison. Would recommend for anyone who has kids and would purchase at least 1 bucket of food per person. My wife and I went through 3 buckets and we were out by the end. There are no longer any Big Cats. If your looking for interaction and close up view of some cool wildlife then this is the place to go!

This place is AWESOME! Found them completely by accident, saw a sign while leaving Eureka Springs and decided to go. I am so glad I did. Being from California, there is nothing like this in Southern California. Driving through and feeding the animals was pure joy. It is reasonably priced, the people are nice and the animals are always hungry!
Go here, you will not be disappointed.

The Promised Land Zoo is a great adventure to take as a family. It is worth the short drive from Eureka Springs to check it out. We enjoyed the drive through safari feeding the animals as we went. Some of the animals are in large pens that you can drive through, but they are unable to approach your vehicle too closely. You can still toss them food if they are interested. The petting zoo area is a great bonus. The goats and miniature ponies are very interactive creatures. The prairie dogs were putting on a good show of chasing each other around and keeping watch for predators. There were a few parrots with impressive vocabularies that were fun to chat with, also. Go see it!

The Promised Land Zoo is a pretty surreal place. One minute you’re in the middle of the winding hills of the Ozarks, the next minute you find yourself rolling through a herd of zebras with ostriches chasing your car and buffalo eyeing you. The zoo has big cats, monkeys, and all sorts of other animals you wouldn’t expect to find in rural southern Missouri. The Promised Land Zoo was a gem of an experience, and something I would recommend to anybody.

Went out to this zoo in Eagle Rock with a group of friends and had a blast! Being able to drive through this zoo and get up close to herds of buffalo and deer was an awesome experience and the closest I’ve ever been to being on a safari. They’ve got a unique collection of animals; from hyenas to lions and camels to monkeys and more. There’s even a racing zebra that will pace along with you as you drive by. Make sure to look out for the trio gang of ostriches that’ll curiously come up for you to feed (don’t worry, they’re harmless).
Also, had a chance to check out the new zoo in Branson that opened recently which complements the drive through version. Definitely come check both of these out!

What a great place to visit — a picturesque backdrop to see an enormous variety of animals, both in the petting zoo and the drive through tour. The animals all have such interesting personalities too, making it a fun experience for any age. I don’t think you could see such a variety of exotic animals anywhere else in Missouri!

I really enjoyed my time at the Promised Land Zoo! The animals were really cool and my whole family had a blast. We will be back!

Fun drive-​thru zoo with petting zoo. Not too expensive, animals were very friendly with lots of variety, not many exotics though. The staff was very nice and helpful, constantly had one of the caged animals from the lobby out to play with and touch. Would recommend for a smaller family, could get pricey with a bigger party as it is pay per person not per car, for a fun way to spend a few hours while visiting Eureka Springs.

While visiting Eureka Springs, we decided to make the 11 mile drive up to the zoo. It was definitely a good choice and a fun way to spend the afternoon.
The petting zoo allows you to get up close and feed goats, horses, a tortoise, porcupine, parrots, hogs and much more. It’s great for kids and there is also a picnic area.
For $ 12.95 per adult, you can drive through the property where you will be immediately greeted by deer, emus, buffalo all looking for some food. At the shop you can buy various sizes of food ranging from $ 2.50 to $ 5.00 for a large bag. I suggest buying two large bags if you really want to stop and feed the animals every chance you get. They are not shy and will come right up to your window and will eat the food right out of your hands. As you drive further, you will encounter more animals behind fences including goats, kangaroo, lion, deer and ostriches. At this point in the trip we ran out of food and a second bag would have come in handy. If you take your time, you can spend an hour driving through and looking at the animals.
We enjoyed our experience getting to interact with so many animals. The price is a little steep but we found a $ 2.00 discount coupon from our hotel lobby and I would recommend that anyone do the same.

Expensive, coming in at nearly $ 50 for two adults and two children. Driving tour takes approx one hour, plus 15 – 30 min at petting zoo area. Features mostly deer, with some bison, emus, antelope, but nothing more exotic than zebras. Petting zoo was typical Pygmy goats, sheep, pigs, horses.
