Eagle Waters is a four-​season historic resort located on Eagle Lake, directly on the chain of 28 lakes. Eagle Waters offers lodge rooms, choose from traditional hotel style rooms, one, two and three bedroom suites (up to 2000 sq.ft.). We also offer lake-​front, lake-​view and wood-​view cabins that sleep up to 20 people.

Eagle Waters amenities include: restaurant, bar, general store, banquet/​wedding/​meeting facilities, free WI-​FI, business center, outdoor heated swimming pool. outdoor heated whirlpool, sauna/​massage rooms, exercise facility, tennis/​basketball/​volleyball courts, kayaks/​canoes/​bikes (no fee), playground, swim area, docks, horseshoes, shuffleboard, game room, fire pits, satellite TV, video/​game library, on snowmobile trail, golf and indoor pool close by.

History

Established in 1857.

Eagle Waters Resort was Eagle River’s first settlement originally occupied by fur traders, woodsman and loggers. In the mid-1800’s the property consisted of a trading post, bank and the first regional post office. The first presidential votes for Lincoln were cast on Eagle Waters property! The area was given the Chippewa name «Kee-​Mi-​Con,» which means, I have found it. (We have given this name to our Lodge built in 2006.) As years passed the resort evolved into Eagle Waters Resort where many families come year after year. For many years a tree was planted on the property for each couple married here. As you walk the resort you will marvel at this lovely tradition.

This weekend I stayed with family at the resort in a cabin. The cabin was great and well maintained. It had plenty of room and was filled with the North woods charm. Wait staff is mediocre; forgetting to return to tables after an item was requested such as a box, not splitting checks to correct way, not refilling water or being attentive. The fish fry was good and what you would expect. However, the brunch is overpriced with food that is not appealing. The shrimp for example were rotten as if left out for too long in a warm room, coffee is not included in the price, bacon had no flavor and the eggs were over cooked. I would not eat at the brunch here again.

Came for a Friday night fish fry. We sat on the patio while waiting for our table. Patio layout is exceptional, however, the D.J. Must be hard of hearing as He was playing the music way too loud. At 6:00 pm most people want to visit & hear each other. Fish portions were huge with a rubbery texture. (Fried & broiled). Fish tacos were piled high with fish, but texture & appearance were bland. Love the interior of restaurant & the waitress did a great job.

How have I not rated this wonderful place yet?! My boyfriend’s parents live in Eagle River and a visit to Eagle River is not complete without Friday Night Fish Fry at Eagle Waters. The food, drinks, and service are always wonderful. Their fishy fry is excellent, and I highly recommend the twice back potato. This place is busy on weekend nights, so expect a wait. The wait is not bad because in the summer, you can enjoy a delicious (and CHEAP! best thing about WI) drink on their adorable patio with live music, and in the winter, you can wait at the bar or on one of the leather couches near a warm fire.
The interior of this restaurant is incredibly cute and full of Northwoods charm :)The patio and live music in the summer time is great, and I adore their decorations around Christmas time. You will not regret going going to for lunch or dinner anytime of the year!

Very disappointing Friday fish fry. Service was the worst and food was just not good. Fish was very greasy and tough! And prices went up! Used to be our annual destination spot!

This was our fifth time to Eagle Waters, and from start to finish a disaster.
First we waited forever to be served drinks on the patio before our 8 pm reservation. After drinks, we went to the maître d who told us we’d have to wait for a table to open. (even though we had reservations). Ended up waiting (40!!!) minutes. The maître d was useless, never apologized and should have bought us drinks.
Finally we’re shown to a table and three of us ordered the special — prime rib. We then went to the salad bar to find it half empty. We got back to our table to be told by the waiter they were out of the prime rib. We were furious, after waiting 40 mins to get our table that we had reserved, they ran out of what we wanted!
We ordered steaks instead, and a bottle of wine. The waiter brought the wine to only realize that he forgot to open it. He leaves, brings it back with the cork stuck in it and leaves it at the table! Never pours, no taste, nothing!
Got our steaks which were only ok for two of us, but the third was well-​done when he ordered medium.
It took us 90 mins from arriving for our 8 pm reservation. Horrible, horrible service. We brought friends from out East to give them a taste of the northwoods and it was so embarrassing!
In the end we were given half off our meal, and we were offered a gift certificate by the owner which was nice. However we had one special night out with friends we’ll never get back.

Best restaurant in Eagle River. From soup to nuts, the perfect experience. Great food, great service, and great environment. It doesn’t get any better than his in the northwoods. Been at least 10 times, and it just keeps getting better!

The condos in the lodge are fantastic! Unfortunately we booked cabin 14a and the website was very misleading. They should show the picture of the outside along with the inside. Old rundown and dilapidated along with a 70’s décor. Cabin 5 was nice however they forgot to mention no AC. We happened to be there during a heat wave. No where did they mention that on the website.

I love the atmosphere here… very northwoods, warm and inviting. They have a nice area w comfy chairs and couches where u can sit and enjoy a cocktail while listening to live music on certain nights. In summer they have an outdoor bar w comfy seating where there is also live music
The food is ok, not amazing but not bad either… the atmosphere makes up for where the food falls slightly short and I’ll keep coming back.
I had the beef tenderloin medallions in a mushroom sauce… there really was way too much of the sauce (it was basically gravy). The tenderloin was good but maybe not the best quality cut of meat.
The server was great! She was extremely friendly!

Our daughter had her wedding here on December 8th. EVERYTHING was wonderful, the restaurant, the lodge accommodations, the staff. We can’t say one negative thing. Their wedding was perfect and the the food was outstanding. Kudos to Laura and her entire staff. This is a beautiful place for a wedding! Wonderful prime rib! Thank you for a memorable event!

So, I have come to both their Thanksgiving and Easter buffets and I love this place! The epitome of a family dining experience «North Woods Style». While I haven’t been to the restaurant on too many other occasions, I believe it deserves the 5 stars for the great service and friendly staff, the abundance of family-​style delicious and varied «hearty American» food, and the great Up-​North décor and location.
That champagne during the holiday buffets just keep coming so watch out or you might be needing a walker to get back to the food line. Their selection of drinks is great and I dare say, try the bloody Marys.

We only went there for dinner, we didn’t stay at the resort (which seemed very nice). The food was good, but not great. I had a steak and my wife had pork marsala, hers was better than mine. The salad bar also seemed a bit sketchy. They were very busy when we went, but the service was very good.

Beautiful facility, with a great outdoor area for drinks. Unfortunately, service and food in the restaurant is not up to par.
On recent visit we experienced the worst overall service in recent memory — and I eat out over 200 meals per year. We had reservations. Upon arrival it took 10 minutes to check in. Once seated, waitress Sherry and water did not arrive for another ten minutes. We ordered drinks, which did not arrive for 27 minutes despite repeated queries. Other tables had a basket of rolls to keep them occupied, but not ours. Our waitress was totally inattentive… by never looking our way she avoided my eyes and gestures.
Our group of 4 ordered two pan fried walleye dinners (one cajun and one regular), and two perch/​bluegill combinations. The walleye was passable (although there was no difference between the cajun and regular). The perch/​bluegill would have been good if not for far too much salt — almost inedible. The side orders were messed up, when pointed out the waitress said «[when the kitchen gets busy they do what they want]».
Our table was not alone. At the adjacent table, a young family just left after the could not get their drinks… I think they had ordered food before giving up. At another table, a women complained about the grouper. At the third adjacent table a man and his son waited longer than us… and kept looking over at me with a «this is so bad.» look.
Unacceptable service. Poorly prepared food. $ 100+ for (4) with drinks. You can easily do better.

What a great place… had early dinner on March 3,2012. Moved to the lounge area by the fire, played trivial pursuit, listened to a live duo singing chick songs… i. e; Fleetwood Mack, Heart, etc. Used the free ice skates in the small outside rink… the bartender whipped up chocolate shakes for the kids (large snowmobile group came in with middle school aged kids)…all in all… so much fun for all of us. Will go back. Fun and friendly in a beautiful setting.

This was my first time going to Eagle Waters Resort– all of my family (locals) were talking about how nice the remodel is– and that the restaurant was worth a trip out to.
The specialty of this place is fish– but really EVERYTHING is good. I got the fish fry (on Tuedsays & Fridays) and they offer a option for Broiled & Fried– which I just had to have both! Both were made fantastically, and i was really pleased by the quality of the food. Great sides, and healthy side options too. They also have a small salad bar (a common thing here in the Northwoods) that was ok– Romaine lettuce was available– so I was happy!
The bar inside was also beautiful– and had LOTS of options to chose from. They even had Leinenkugel Berry Weiss– my favorite, and a hard to find one at bars when its only seasonal. But the best part of the bar? THE PHOTO BOOTH!!! $ 3 for two strip sets. Amen!
Finally… I REALLY wish I had a chance to get a drink at the bar OUTSIDE (see my photo!) It looked absolutely beautfiul outside on the patio and in the open-​air resort bar. There was even a hammock hung up in the open-​air bar… Can’t wait to go back!

My favorite place on a Friday night.
Not for the fish which I’m told is excellent but the prime rib is the best in the Northwoods.
It’s always a crap shoot on a Friday night if you order anything but fish but not here.
The owners are always on the premises and take a hands on approach which I like to see.
Their Sunday morning brunch is second to none in the area.
The Chef is a native from the area who does a fantastic job.
Not the easiest place to find but just take Rangeline Rd. North off of Hwy 70E and stay left. Follow the signs.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Northwoods. I especially like the salad bar. The creamy garlic dressing is a standout. I recommend any of the steak selections. Another entrée I like is the chicken in pastry. This dish is a little rich though. I have heard the fish fry is good, but I have not had it. I really like the décor. I love the Northwoods theme and it is upscale yet one feels comfortable wearing casual clothes. If anyone is interested in having a banquet function, you must check out the banquet room. It is beautiful. It could be supremely elegant for a wedding, but it could be dressed down for a more casual function.
