This is a neat 1950’s style country diner serving breakfast and lunch located along Routes 22&67 in North Hoosick. The place is bright with vinyl booths, seats, and stools at the counter, country décor(lots of black & white cows), and black & white checker floors. I stopped in at Sorel’s Diner for an early lunch recently and I could sit anywhere I liked. Several regulars(senior citizens) were all seated at the counter and conversing with the staff. This is definitely a great place to catch up on the local gossip, for sho-ure!!! Welcome to the funny farm! I looked over the lunch menu which offers hot & cold sandwiches, wraps, burgers, hot dogs, seafood, fried foods, desserts, and a few comfort dinners. They offer Coke fountain drinks and several flavors of milkshakes(from a machine), but they do not offer frappes since ice cream is not served here(go to Benson’s for that). The prices here are very reasonable, and most items(except ribs) are under $ 10. Kids menu available and specials are posted. I ordered an ice water along with the posted Lunch Special($ 5.99) which was a half tuna sandwich served with curly fries, soup(cream of tomato), oyster crackers, and sweet pickle chips, plus I also ordered a Fish Fry($ 4.50) served with potato chips and Ken’s tartar sauce on the side. The food was served in under 10 minutes. All of the food tasted pretty good(because I was hungry) including the dense tuna salad sandwich with lettuce on wheat bread and crispy curly fries which went well with the very hot cream of tomato soup. The long fish fry was fantastic and had very crispy breading outside and very hot fish inside. I dipped the fries and sandwich with some Mama Bull’s Club Sauce, yum! The service was good and the waitress kept an eye on things from the counter area. CLOSED Mondays
