Established in 1991.

Intertech (www​.intertech​.com) is a leading Twin Citiesbased

software development consulting firm and the largest

software developer training company in Minnesota. Local

entrepreneur Tom Salonek founded the company in 1991.

Intertech designs and develops software solutions for

state government and mid-​sized corporations. The company

also creates pre-​packaged software that powers Fortune

500 businesses, as well as systems for state government.

Intertech works with NASA, Wells Fargo, Lockheed Martin,

Microsoft and Intel and other major companies around the

United States helping them learn and use technology.

Intertech’s technical team frequently publishes books

in the Intertech Instructor Series through a partnership

with Apress in Berkley, California. The Intertech Instructor

Series includes best-​selling technology training books on

Ama​zon​.com and at Barnes and Noble.

Meet the Business Owner

Thomas S.

Business Owner

Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science from the University of St. Thomas and performed graduate work at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He has completed executive education at the Harvard School of Business and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2005, he was named one of Minnesota’s the top business leaders under 40. He is a past instructor at the University of St. Thomas Management Center. In 2003, he founded the Intertech Foundation to financially assist families with critically ill children. He has published 20 articles on business, leadership and technology in newspapers and magazines including the Star Tribune, Upsize magazine, and the Business Journal.
