We bought a couch back in April from Groens, our sales associate Linda was wonderful! When I ordered the couch I told her we were building a house and it wouldn’t be ready for a few months… She was so nice and told me not to worry that they can hold it up to a year… Great! We finally were able to move in around December and finally got our couches delivered… only one problem… The sectional we had ordered was made completely wrong! When we called groens the admitted it was a mistake and that it would be remade I would have thought they may try to compensate us for there mistake but instead we were told they did us a favor by storing our couches for us then the manger Ashley told me they accidentally charged us the wrong price so she would t do anything to compensate us for our Inconvenience, ok fine really just want our couches. Here we are 2 months later still waiting for our couches with pretty much no communication from them besides when we call to check on things… Very disappointed in our experience here, we were planning on buying more from them but because if this poor customer service we will be going elsewhere… Hopefully we get out couches one of these days!

Don’t care about bargains? Have a loaded wallet and love to pay retail? Willing to kowtow to an ambivalent sales staff who don’t care about their competition or making a sale? Then shop here. Groen’s, appropriately named, has a lovely showroom and a lovely Flexsteel trailer in their lovely parking lot; they also have high prices, no sales, and no willingness to budge on price. Not a dime. We were told point blank by the business manager as she looked down her snooty nose, «If you can find a better price, go for it.» We came looking to buy a nationally-available product locally, and found a retailer looking for a lazy or stupid customer — a retailer who did not care one whit about satisfying a customer or even appearing to care about satisfying a customer. We did not expect to get the exact price we found at a larger furniture retailer but we did not expect total and complete inflexibility on price with a heaping helping of condescension. We did find a retailer in Valparaiso, Indiana Furniture Showcase, who knew how to do business and actually immediately called Flexsteel to get us a good price on what we wanted, while treating us with the utmost respect. They came in $ 100 higher on the sofa/love seat combo price we had found(Groen’s was $ 400 higher), and offered us a range of fabric to choose from, to boot. Saved us a trip to Mishawaka, they did, earned our respect and earned thousands of dollars in future business. Suck on that, Groen’s. And we are telling this story to everyone we know.
