Triangle Dermatology Associates

Was rudely hung up when told I was calling from a non profit. I guess maybe they thought I was soliciting and said «we are not interested» and hung up. I was calling for service for clients but I will not give a company any money that treats people like that. The doctor needs to hire new office staff. They can make or break a place before the doctor even gets in the picture, I can’t speak on their behalf because stop services with the doctors because of the staff.

Great communication between staff and doctors. Everyone is very friendly and genuinely seems to care. My messages to my doctor were relayed correctly, and I received very prompt responses. I was seen quickly, on time, and Dr. Tcheung spent a good deal of time with me.

While the staff was super nice, if not a bit frantic, my appointment with Dr. Tcheung was a huge disappointment. The rash under my arms was completely misdiagnosed as a bacterial infection, for which I was prescribed an antibiotic. I received no printed information regarding the diagnosis and was informed by my cardiologist that the antibiotic, (Doxycycline) would have adversely interfered with my heart condition. Did she even review the charts I had faxed to the office? Turns out the rash is candida, a yeast overgrowth often caused by antibiotic use. The Doxycycline would probably have exacerbated the problem. Thank the gods they never bothered to call in the prescription to the pharmacy. It might have helped in the diagnosis if Dr. Tcheung actually ran some tests of the infected area, instead of just eying it up. Oh, she did compliment my tattoos. Um, thanks.

Had a great experience. I went in to have a mole removed from my face. I got a quick appointment, friendly office staff, friendly doctor, quick and painless procedure… what more could you want?

My appointment ran 30 minutes behind, and even aside from that my overall patient experience was fine, but getting my prescription filled was not ideal and I will be switching to a new dermatologist immediately.
Be advised that Triangle Dermatology doesn’t have an on-​site lab (this is the first dermatologist i’ve ever encountered that doesn’t), so if you need any labwork done prior to receiving a prescription medication, you will need to schedule an ADDITIONAL lab appointment at a clinic, and then deal with the clinic to get your results sent to Triangle Dermatology. This added four additional days, an additional hour-​long lab appointment, and six phone calls for me to finally get my prescription filled. Since routine labwork is needed to continue with the medication I was prescribed, I will be switching to a new dermatologist so I don’t have to go through this again and wanted to raise this issue to anyone considering Triangle Dermatology.

I went to the Dermatologist today for the first time ever, and it wasn’t a bad experience.
I’d had a minor skin issue arise and a friend suggested I go see Dr. Higgens. He was great! He asked a lot of questions, did a thorough exam, explained what could be done for the issue, and sent my prescription directly to Upchurch Pharmacy. He was friendly, and I felt confident that he knew what he was doing. I also really liked the PA that did the prescreening.
The new patient check-​in process was simple, and everyone I encountered there was pleasant and knowledgeable.
Highly recommended.

I’ve recently started going to Dr. Higgins at Triangle Dermatology, after a somewhat lacking experience at Chapel Hill dermatology. The staff at Triangle are super friendly, from reception to PAs, and Dr. Higgins is a very calm, sincere person who seems genuinely concerned and skilled. I really feel comfortable (as in, there are no stupid questions, etc.), even in the dreaded gown for skin checks. Think I’ve found my go-​to for all things skin related! :)
